The Holy Qor-aan                                                                                                  002:054

وَاِذۡ اٰتَيۡنَا مُوۡسَى الۡكِتٰبَ وَالۡفُرۡقَانَ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَهۡتَدُوۡنَ‏

                Wa-iz-aa-tai-naa-moo-sul-kay-taa-ba-wul-foor-qaa-na-la-ul-la-koom-tuh-ta-doo-n.

               And call to mind when We gave Moses the Book and the Criterion so that you may be guided.

  • وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., Connects words, phrases or clauses; also; but; additionally; though; when; while; yet; whereupon)
  • اِذۡ — Iz Recall –When (= Behold; call to mind, recall; remember or think of the
    time, event, occasion, opportunity or time)
  • اٰتَيۡ — Aa-tai — Gave (= Awarded; bestowed; conferred’; delivered; entrusted;
    granted handed down; revealed)
  • نَآ — Naa–  We (= pro., pl., 1st person. Us. Used with God’s name it reflects the authoritative way a higher-up talks to a subordinate)
  • مُوۡسٰى — Moo-sa..(ul) — Moses (= The name of a Messenger / Prophet of Allah)
  • الۡكِتٰبَ — Kay-taa-ba — The Book (= 1. Authentic recording of things written in black and white.  2. The Code; Command; Direction; Divine Regulations; Holy Direction; Scripture; Spiritual Code; Testament.   3. Mandated; ordered; penned down; prescribed; preserved; recorded; something written down; written records)
  • وَ — Wa…(ul) — And (= Conj., Connects words, phrases or clauses; also; but; additionally; though; when; while; yet; whereupon)
  • ٱلۡفُرۡقَانَ — Foor-qaa-na — The Criterion (= Clear proof. Differentiation. Discrimination. Distinction. Argument, instrument, knowledge, means, method, sign or way to see and know the good from the bad, the right from the wrong. The Sign to discriminate between the truth and the falsehood)
  • لَعَلَ — La-ul-la — So that (= Gave chance; haply; hopefully; possibly; wishing a result to be)
  • کُمۡ — Koom — You (= pro., pl., m., 2nd person. You. Refers to the Israelites)
  • تَهۡتَدُوۡنَ — Tuh-ta-doo-n — Are led rightly (= Be guided aright; given the correct course; shown the right road; put on proper path; told of the true track)
