The Holy Qor-aan                                                                                                                 002:090

.

وَلَمَّا جَآءَهُمۡ كِتٰبٌ مِّنۡ عِنۡدِ اللّٰهِ مُصَدِّقٌ لِّمَا مَعَهُمۡۙ وَكَانُوۡا مِنۡ قَبۡلُ يَسۡتَفۡتِحُوۡنَ عَلَى الَّذِيۡنَ كَفَرُوۡا ‌ۖۚ فَلَمَّا جَآءَهُمۡ مَّا عَرَفُوۡا کَفَرُوۡا بِهٖ فلَعۡنَةُ اللّٰهِ عَلَى الۡكٰفِرِيۡنَ‏

 

Wa-lum-maa-jaa-aa-hoom-kay-taa-boom-min-in-dil-laa-hay
Mo-sud-day-qoon-lay-maa-ma-aa-hoom
Wa-kaa-noo-min-qub-lo-yus-tuf-tay-hoo-na-aa-lul-la-zee-na-ka-fa-roo
Fa-lum-maa-jaa-aa-hoom-maa-ara-foo-ka-fa-roo-bay-he
Fa-lau-na-tool-laa-hay-aa-lul-kaa-fay-ree-n

 

And surely when the Book from Allah came to them
Fulfilling what was already with them
And since before they had been wanting a win on those who disbelieved.
Yet when that they recognized came to them they rejected it.
So the curse of Allah is (or be) on the disbelievers.

 

  • وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; but; also; more over; though; when; while; yet; whereupon)
  • لَمَّا — Lum-maa — Surely when (= Absolutely, certainly, definitely, positively and truly whenever, any time or at such time truly; now that)
  • جَآء — Jaa-aa — Came (= v., past., Achieved; arrived; reached; become manifest in the fulfillment of the divine prophecies)
  • هُمۡ‌ — Hoom — They (= pro., pl., m., 3rd person. They.  Refers to the Israelites ‘who persecuted the prophets’)
  • كِتٰبٌ — Kay-taa-boon — The Book  *  (= n., The Divine Directive of Commands, Prohibitions   and Regulations. Holy Scripture. See verse 002:003)
  • مِّنۡ — Min — From (= From the direction or presence)
  • عِنۡدَ – In-d…(il) — From (= From the presence or stock or will)
  • اللّٰهِ — Laa-hay — Allah (= The Almighty God; The only One worthy of worship)
  • مُصَدِّقٌ — Mo-sud-day-qoon — Fulfilling (= v., Affirming, approving, attesting, confirming, proving testifying, corroborating, testifying, verifying and witnessing the truth of the prophecies in the earlier scriptures 2. n., One who affirms, approves, attests or confirms; true testator truthful; verifier; witness)
  • لِّ — Lay — For (= For the benefit, purpose or reason; on account of. concerning. regarding. relative to)
  • مَآ — Maa — What (= All that; whatever. Ref is to the earlier prophecies)
  • مَعَ — Ma-aa–  Already with (=Along with; in the company; going with or following after.    Refers to the prior Scriptures that Israelites had)
  • هُمۡ‌ — Hoom — Them (= pro., pl., m., 3rd person.   They.   Prophets’ persecutors)
  • وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ above )
  • كَانُوۡا — Kaa-noo — Had been (= v., 3rd person. All those were about, close, or near. This conveys an action’s continuity from the past to the present and into the future like ‘used to ‘ or ‘went on’)
  • مِنۡ — Min — Since (= From the class, category, count, kind, persons or out of)
  • قَبۡلُ — Qub-lo — Before (= Ahead of; antecedent; earlier than; older times; occurred or passed in prior period; previously; prior to)
  • يَسۡتَفۡتِحُوۡنَ — Yus-tuf-tay-hoo-na — Wanting win (= Asking or invoking Allah’s grace to win a victory. Aspiring, clamoring, expecting, praying, seeking or wishing for help to a signal triumph, victory or win.
  • عَلَيۡ — Ala…(ul) — On (= Above; against; before; for; on top of; over; upon)
  • ٱلَّذِينَ — La-zee-na — Those who (= pl., m, 3rd person. All those articles, things or persons)
  • كَفَرُوۡا — Ka-fa-roo — Disbelieved (= v., pl., 1. Denied, refused or rejected faith or belief in Allah, the Holy Qor-aan & Islaam to become Moslem.    2. Were blasphemer, faithless. heretic, infidel, pagan, non-believer or resistor to God and unbelievers.    3. Acted ungratefully by failing to appreciate, thank for, use or utilize God-given abilities, blessings capabilities capacities, gifts, talents and opportunities by abusing or misusing them.   4. Committed breach of faith)
  • فَ — Fa — Yet (= Consequently; as a result; so; then; thereafter; therefore
  • لَمَّا — Lum-maa — Surely when (= Absolutely, certainly, definitely, positively and truly whenever, any time or at such time truly; verily; now that)
  • جَآءَ — Jaa-aa — Came to (= Arrived; brought; delivered; got to; reached; settled)
  • هُمۡ‌ — Hoom..(m) — Them (= pro., pl., m., 3rd person. Refers to all earlier specified, shown or stated persons ‘who persecuted the prophets’)
  • مَّا — Maa — All that (=What; whatever; whatsoever.   Refers to the ‘long awaited Prophet and the Qur’an’)
  • عَرَفُوۡا — Aa–ra-foo — Recognized (= Identified. Knew it to be true. Knew well Realized that it filled and met their expectations.. Understood)
  • كَفَرُوۡا — Ka-fa-roo — Disbelieved (= v., pl., 1. Denied, refused or rejected faith or belief in Allah, the Holy Qor-aan & Islaam to become Moslem.    2. Were blasphemer, faithless. heretic, infidel, pagan, non-believer or resistor to God and unbelievers.    3. Acted ungratefully by failing to appreciate, thank for, use or utilize God-given abilities, blessings capabilities capacities, gifts, talents and opportunities by abusing or misusing them.   4. Committed breach of faith)
  • بِ — Bay — With (= By means of; with the instrumentality of )
  • هٖ — Hee — That (= pro., s., m., 3rd person. Refers to what was sent to them)
  • فَ — Fa — So (= As a result; consequently; due to; then; thereafter; thus)
  • لَعۡنَةُ — Lau-na-to…(ol) — Curse (= Condemnation; disapproval of. Let curse be on them)
  • اللّٰهِ — Laa-hay — Allah (= The Almighty God; The only One worthy of worship)
  • عَلَيۡ — Ala…(ul) — Upon (= Above; against; before; for; on; on top of; over)
  • الۡكٰفِرِيۡنَ — Kaa-fay-ree-n — Disbelievers (= n., Those who denied, refused or rejected the Belief or faith in Allah, the Holy Qor-aan and Islaam to become Moslem.   2. Were heretic, infidel, ingrate, non-believer, thankless or ungratefulness to God and His blessings.   3. Who failed to apply, appreciate, use and utilize God-given gifts including all kinds of abilities, blessings, capabilities, capacities, The practitioners of the acts mentioned above in the meanings of the word كَفَرُوۡا  (Ka-fa-roo).

* Note 002:090. Except for the 5th word [ رَسُوۡلٌ in 002:102 and كِتٰب in 002:090] the first thirteen (13) words of the two verses are the same. These words had “affirmed, approved, attested, confirmed, corroborated, delivered, duplicated, supported, testified and verified with” identical messages the truth of both the Messenger [The Holy Prophet Mohammed s.a.w] and the Book [The Holy Qor-aan that was revealed to him].
