Holy Qor-aan                                                                                                                            002:107

 

مَا نَنۡسَخۡ مِنۡ اٰيَةٍ اَوۡ نُنۡسِهَا نَاۡتِ بِخَيۡرٍ مِّنۡهَآ اَوۡ مِثۡلِهَا ‌ؕ اَلَمۡ تَعۡلَمۡ اَنَّ اللّٰهَ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَىۡءٍ قَدِيۡرٌ

 

Maa-nun-sukh-min-aa-ya-tin-auo-noon-say-haa                                                                    Nau-tay-bay-khai-rin-min-haa-auo-mith-la-haa                                                                       Aa-lum-tau-lum-un-nul-la-ha-alaa-kool-lay-shai-in-qa-dee-r.

 

Any time We cancel any of the signs or obliterate it                                                      We bring one better than that or just like that.                                                                Don’t you know that indeed Allah is in full control of everything.

‏ 

  • مَا — Maa — Any time (= 1. At such time; when; whenever)
  • نَنۡسَخۡ — Nun-sukh — We cancel  *  (= Abrogate; discard; disown; disregard; forget; remove; renounce; repeal. See our Commentary Abrogation Theory that clergy coined to empower themselves by declaring ‘abrogated’ any part of the Holy Qor-aan they didn’t like by comparing any part they chose to enforce. The rule in this verse is also reiterated in 016:102)
  • مِنۡۢ — Min — Among (= From the class, category, count, person or out of)
  • اٰيَةٍ — Aa-ya-tin — Sign  (= n., s.., 1. Manifestation; message; narrative; revelation; verses. 2. Command; direction; law; order. 3. Evidence corroboration; evidence; lesson; portent; proof. 4. Part, portion; pointer, sign, symbol or token pointing to the truth. 5.Every element to create clear crystal picture leading to an absolute conviction. 6. Argument or indication highlighting the manifest Truth)
  • اَوۡ — Auo — Or (= Alternatively; in substitution)
  • نُنۡسِ — Noon-say — We obliterate (= Abandon; allow to be forgotten; cause to be ignored)
  • هَا — Haa — That (= pro, s., f., 3rd person. Refers to the ‘signs’)
  • نَاۡتِ — Nau-tay — We bring (= Deliver; produce; replace; show; substitute)
  • بِ — Bay —  With (= This word in Arabic literally means with)
  • خَيۡرٍ — Khai-rin–  Better (=1. Appreciable, happy or pleasant acts, deeds, things, Better persons or occasions. 2. Comparatively superior; of Best greater, higher or more value. 3. At apex; best; noblest; on top. 4. Glad tiding; good news. 5. Things get better soon, holding prospects of a better and improved prize)
  • مِنۡۢ — Min — From  (= Among; from the class, category, count kind or out of)
  • هَا — Haa — That (= pro, s., f., 3rd person. Refers to the ‘signs’)
  • اَوۡ — Auo — Or (= Alternate; alternatively)
  • مِثۡلِ — Mith-lay — Just like (= Alike; duplicate; identical; similar; substitute. Exactly of the same kind, quality, look, nature or type)
  • هَا —  Haa — That (= pro, s., f., 3rd person. Refers to the ‘signs’)
  • أ — Aa — Do  (= Question mark like Are? Can? Do? Shell? Will?)
  • لَمۡ — Lum — Not Not (= Never; no, not at all.  Similar question is in next verse)
  • تَعۡلَمۡ — Tau-lum — You know (= Aware; educated; informed)
  • اَنَّ — Un-n..(ul) — Indeed   **   (= Absolutely; certainly; definitely; positively; surely; truly; verily)

The Holy Qor-aan has frequently stated the truth in the next five words. See Note 002:021

  • ٱللَّهَ — Laa-ha — Allah is (= The Almighty God; The only One worthy of worship)
  • عَلَى — Alaa —  Of / on (= Above; for; of; on; over; upon)
  • كُلِّ — Kool-lay — Every (= All things without exception; entirely; totally; wholly)
  • شَىۡءٍ — Shai-in — Thing (= Article; being; element; item; phenomenon)
  • قَدِيۡرٌ  — Qa-dee-r — In full control (= superlative form that includes the meanings of ‘fullness and totality of control.‘  Controller.  Has the absolute power to do what He wills.  Master and possessor of all powers)

 

* 002:007.  The rule stated in this verse 002:007 is also restated in the verse 016:102 though in different words.
