The Holy Qor-aan 002:125
وَاِذِ ابۡتَلٰٓى اِبۡرٰهٖمَ رَبُّهٗ بِكَلِمٰتٍ فَاَتَمَّهُنَّ ؕ قَالَ اِنِّىۡ جَاعِلُكَ لِلنَّاسِ اِمَامًا ؕ قَالَ وَمِنۡ ذُرِّيَّتِىۡ ؕ قَالَ لَا يَنَالُ عَهۡدِى الظّٰلِمِيۡنَ
Wa-aiy-zib-ta-laa-ib-raa-he-mo-rub-bo-hoo-bay-ka-lay-maa-tin
Fa-aa-tum-ma-hoon-na-
Qaa-la-in-nee-jaa-aiy-lo-ka-lin-naa-say-imaa-maa
Qaa-la-wa-min-zoor-re-yaa-tee
Qaa-la-laa-ya-naa-lo-ah-diz-zaa-lay-mee-n.
And when his God tried Abraham with certain Commands
So he fulfilled them.
He (God) said, “I certainly will make you a leader for the people.”
He (Abraham) said, “And from among my progeny?”
He (God) said, “My promise does not reach the wrongdoers.”
- وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., Connects words, phrases or clauses; also; but; additionally; though; when; while; yet; whereupon)
- اِذِ — Aiy-z…(ib) — When (= Behold; call to mind, recall; remember or think of the
time, event, occasion, opportunity or time)
- ابۡتَلٰٓى — Ib-ta-laa — Tried (= Put to proof; put to test; tested)
- اِبۡرٰهٖمَ — Ib-raa-he-ma — Abraham (= The name of a Messenger / Prophet of Allah)
- رَبُّ — Rub-bo — God (= The Almighty Allah who fills needs of all creatures;
Creator; Guardian; Master; Lord Provident. The Only One Who provides all that sustains life. Ultimate Provider of air, water, food and whatever we and all other creatures need to live and subsist)
- هٗ — Hoo — His (= pro., s., m., 3rd person. Refers to the prophet Abraham)
- بِ — Bay — With (= This word in Arabic literally means with)
- كَلِمٰتٍ — Ka-lay-maa-tin — Commands (= n., pl., 1. Commands; assignments; instructions; prayers; words of inspiration, regret or remorse; directions; mission; phrases; requirements; signs; tasks. 2. Messages; promises; proofs)
- فَ — Fa — So (= After all this; as a result; at the end of; in conclusion; in consequence; in the final analysis; then; thereafter; hence; thus; therefore; yet)
- اَتَمَّ — Aa-tum-ma — He fulfilled (= Accomplished; completed; filled; finished)
- هُنَّ — Hoon-na — Them (= pro., pl., f., 3rd person. Refers to the category of aforesaid assignments)
- قَا لَ — Qaa-la — He said (= v., past, s., m., 3rd person. Announced; broadcast; commanded; conveyed; declared; directed; elaborated; instructed; mandated; ordered; specified; stated; told)
- اِنِّىۡ — In-nee — I certainly (= Combination of two words. The first word اِنِّ (in-na) means absolutely, certainly; definitely, doubtlessly, indeed; really; positively, surely, truly or verily. The second word ى refers to a s, m & f., 1st person)
- جَاعِلُ — Jaa-aiy-lo — Will make (= n., The one about or getting ready or going to appoint, bring into being, cause, convert, create, design, render, fashion, produce or turn one thing or person into a different thing or person)
- كَ — Ka — You (= pro., s., m., 2nd person. Refers to the prophet Abraham)
- لِ — L…(in) — For (= Concerning. Regarding. Relative to. For the attention, benefit, purpose or reason of. With intent to. With the object of)
- النَّاسَ — Naa-say — The people (= All humans beings. Factions. Folks. Groups; mankind; men; nations; tribes)
- اِمَامًا — Imaa-maa — A leader (= The person who stands in front of others to follow him. Religious leader appointed for the good of people)
- قَا لَ — Qaa-la — He said (= v., past, s., m., 3rd person. Asked; begged; beseeched; called; conveyed; invoked; inquired; prayed; pleaded; requested; stated; sought; submitted; supplicated)
- وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; but; also; more over; though; when; while; yet; whereupon)
- مِنۡ — Min — From among (= From the class, category, count, kind, persons or out of)
- ذُرِّيَّتِ — Zoor-re-yaa-t(ee) — Progeny (= Children; descendants; family; future generations; race; offspring. Generally used for male lineal descendants)
- ى — Ee — My (= s., m & f., 1st person. Refers to the prophet Abraham)
- قَا لَ — Qaa-la — He said (= v., past, s., m., 3rd person. Announced; broadcast; commanded; conveyed; declared; directed; elaborated; instructed; mandated; ordered; specified; stated; told)
- لَا — Laa — Does not (= Absolute denial; never; no; not at all; total negation)
- يَنَالُ — Ya-naa-lo — Reach (= Apply; arrive; cover; embrace; extend to; fill; include. Is not within the reach of)
- عَهۡد — Ah-d…(iz) — Promise (= n., Binding, firm, serious or solemn affirmation, pledge assurance, confirmation, Covenant or undertaking. Also, agreement, contract or ratification)
- ى — Ee — My (= s., m & f., 1st person. Refers to the Almighty God)
- الظّٰلِمِيۡنَ — Zaa-lay-mee-n — Wrongdoers (= n., pl., Bad people. Criminals. Culprits. Doers of harm, hurt or injury. Evil-doers. Polytheists. Transgressors. Those who commit, do, practice, repeat or habitually pursue the evil and cause grievous wrongs to others. Unfair. Unjust. Violators. Wicked)
