.

فَاذۡكُرُوۡنِىۡٓ اَذۡكُرۡكُمۡ وَاشۡکُرُوۡا لِىۡ وَلَا تَكۡفُرُوۡنِ

 

Fuz-ko-roo-nee–uz-koor-koom                                                                                                            Wush-ko-roo-lee–wa-laa-tuk-fo-roo-n

 

So remember Me. I’ll remember you.                                                                                  And you thank Me. And don’t be an ungrateful person.

 

  • فَ — Fa…(uz) — So (= After all this; as a result; at the end of; in conclusion; in consequence; in the final analysis; then; thereafter; therefore; yet)
  • اذۡكُرُوۡا — Uzko-roo — Remember (= v., pl., 2nd person. Attend to; bear in mind; beseech; contemplate; glorify; ponder; praise; pray; reflect. See below the Note 002:153)
  • نِىۡٓ — Nee — Me (= s. m & f., 1st person. Here it refers to Allah)
  • اَذۡكُرۡ — Uz-koor — Remember (= v., pres., pl.,2nd person. 1. Attend to; bear in mind; call to mind; consider; contemplate; keep in mind; mention; pay attention; ponder; recall; reflect; think about or of. 2. Beseech, celebrate the praise, glorify, pray or praise with gratitude. Offer prayers; perform worships See below the Note 002:153)
  • ڪُمۡ — Koom — Your (= pro., pl., m., 2nd person. You all men. Generally this way the Holy Qor-aan addresses both men and women)
  • وَ — Wa…(ush) — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; but; also; more over; though; when; while; yet; whereupon)
  • اشۡکُرُوۡا — Ush-ko-roo — Thank (= Acknowledge thanks; appreciate; be grateful)
  • لِ — Le — For (= For the benefit, object, purpose or reason of; with intent to please)
  • ى — Ee — Me (= s., 1st person. Here it refers to Allah)
  • وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; but; Do not be (= Absolute denial; never; not at all; total negation)
  • لَا– Laa — No, not (= Absolute denial; never; not at all; total negation)
  •  تَكۡفُرُوۡنِ  — Tuk-fo-roo-n — Ungrateful (= 1. Deny, disbelieve, refuse or reject faith or belief in Allah, the Holy Qor-aan and Islaam by becoming Moslem. 2. Fail to appreciate, thank and gratefully utilize God’s blessings and opportunities provided to them; act ungratefully. 3. Be or become heretics; infidels; resistors to God; unbelievers; unmindful of the bounties conferred and bestowed)

 

**Note: 002:153.The root ذ ك ر carries in its derivatives several of the following meanings.

  1. The reaction of several persons relative to several others: (a) v., To Appreciate, attend, celebrate, chip in, contribute, dissect, elaborate, explain, expound, exalt, extol, extrapolate, glorify, grant eminence, interpret, involve in, join, laud, memorialize, mention, participate, point out, remember, remind, share, talk about, take active part, translate, teach or tutor in academic discussions, community meetings, congregational prayers or similar events, groups or situations. Moslems do the above acts in following the famous Hadeeth (quotation of the Holy Prophet, s.a.w) to the effect that Angels pray for those who sit in the gatherings convened to glorify the name of Allah; (b) n., Esteem to be held in. Fame. Good name. Legacy. Memory. Renown. Reputation.
  2. The reaction of a person relative to others: Attention. Helping to recall. Paying heed. Refreshing memory. Warn.
  3. The action of a person by himself: Bear in mind. Beseech. Call to mind. Grasp. Keep in mind. Ponder. Pray. Recall. Recollect. Reflect. Remembrance. Think. Understand.
