The Holy Qor-aan                                                                                                                002:213

 

زُيِّنَ لِلَّذِيۡنَ كَفَرُوا الۡحَيٰوةُ الدُّنۡيَا وَيَسۡخَرُوۡنَ مِنَ الَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا ‌ ۘ وَالَّذِيۡنَ اتَّقَوۡا فَوۡقَهُمۡ يَوۡمَ الۡقِيٰمَةِ ؕ وَاللّٰهُ يَرۡزُقُ مَنۡ يَّشَآءُ بِغَيۡرِ حِسَابٍ‏

 

Zoo-yay-na-lil-la-zee-na-ka-fa-rool-ha-yaa-tood-doon-ya                                                       Wa-yus-kha-roon-may-nul-la-zee-na-aa-ma-noo                                                                      Wul-la-zee-nut-ta-qao-fao-qa-hoom-yao-mul-qay-yaa-ma-tay                                                Wul-laa-ho-yur-zo-qo-mun-ya-shaa-o-bay-ghai-ray-hay-saa-b

 

Beautified for the disbelievers is the present life.                                                      And they ridicule those who had believed.                                                                        And those righteous will be above them on Judgment Day.                                  And by God Allah provides whom He chooses without measure.

 

  • زُيِّنَ — Zoo-yay-na — Beautified (= v., past., s., 3rd person. Made or turned to appear fair  seeming, attractive, beautiful, captivating, charming, covetous, decorative, desirable, enchanting, enticing, look good, lucrative, luring, nice or tempting)
  • ل — L..(il) — For (= For the attention, benefit, purpose or reason of. With intent to. With the object of)
  • ٱلَّذِينَ — Ul-la-zee-na — Those who (= pl., m, 3rd person. All those articles, things or persons)
  • كَفَرُوۡا — Ka-fa-roo(l) — Disbelieved (= v., pl., 1. Denied, refused or rejected faith or belief in Allah, the Holy Qor-aan & Islaam to become Moslem.   2.  Were blasphemer, faithless. heretic, infidel, pagans, non-believers or resistors to God and unbelievers.    3.  Acted ungratefully by failing to appreciate, thank for, use or utilize God-given abilities, blessings capabilities capacities, gifts, talents and opportunities by abusing or misusing them. 4. Breached faith. 5: Disdainful of  the bounties of Allah)
  • الۡحَيٰوةُ — Ha-yaa-to(od) — Life (= n., A creature’s condition of breathing by inhaling and   exhaling. The quality shown by functions among other of growth and response to stimulation and reproduction by which living organisms are distinguished from dead  organisms and inanimate matter. Extensions in living. Peaceful life with safety and security. Any measure to save and safeguard life)
  • ٱلدُّنۡيا — Doon-ya — The present (= n., Close at hand. Life … on earth, in the near or short term. The near life, of this world. The near one. The World at hand with its benefits, happiness or pleasures. The Hither, the opposite of the Hereafter or Life after death)
  • وَ — Wa — And — (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; but;   also; more over; though; when; while; whereupon; yet)
  • يَسۡخَرُوۡنَ — Yus-kha-roo-na — Ridicule (= v., Laugh; mock; scoff; hold in condemnation. Make someone a focus, object or target of jest, joking, humiliating, laughing, mockery. Project someone in contempt or as foolish or stupid)
  • مِنَ — May-na…(ul) — From (= Among, from or out of the class, category, count, kind of several articles, things, persons or phenomenon)
  • ٱلَّذِينَ — Ul-la-zee-na — Those who (= pl., m, 3rd person. All those articles, things or persons)
  • اٰمَنُوۡۤ — Aa-ma-noo — They Believed  (= v., past., pl., 3rd person. Believed in the Holy Qor-aan, became Moslems and entered in the Faith of Isslaam — See the explanation in our Commentary Islam – 101. Also, those who made peace, protected, rescued, saved  or secured themselves from sin and against fear; those who accepted, admitted, affirmed, approved, concurred, confirmed, corroborated, embraced, evidenced, proved,  testified or witnessed their entry in Islam. See the Note 002:026c)   
  • وَ — Wa…(ul) — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ   above)
  • ٱلَّذِينَ — Ul-la-zee-na — Those who (= pl., m, 3rd person. All those articles, things or persons)
  • اتَّقَوۡا — Tuq-qao — Righteous (= v., Avoided angering Allah; did duty to God; guarded against evil; kept away from the evil and all that is forbidden. See also 002:003 and The Righteous)
  • فَوۡقَ — Fao-qa — Above (= Beyond; next degree over, greater, higher, larger, more or superior. Also, on next degree below, inferior, lower, lesser, smaller or under)
  • هُمۡ — Hoom — Them (= pro., pl., m., 3rd person. Refers to the ‘disbelievers’)
  • يَوۡم — Yao-m…(ul) — Day (= s., A period, term or time that ends; juncture)
  • الۡقِيٰمَةِ‌ — Qay-yaa-mah — Judgment (= Reckoning; Resurrection; Ultimate settlement)
  • وَ — Wa…(ul) –And (= The وَ  vaao is tantamount to taking oath; solemn declaration or calling as a witness.   Normally a Conj., links words, phrases or clauses.   See وَ   above)

  • اللّٰهُ — Laa-ho — Allah (= The Almighty God; The only One worthy of worship)
  • يَرۡزُقُ — Yur-zo-qo — He provides (= v., pres., s., 3rd person. Awards, bequeaths; bestows, confers, delivers, donates, furnishes, gives, grants, provides, showers or supplies necessities of life such as food, clothing, shelter, money, property, provisions,  worldly goods and other elements that sustain life)
  • مَنۡ — Mun — Whom (= Anyone; whoever; whom; whomever; whoso)
  • يَّشَآءُ — Ya-shaa-o — He pleases (= Chooses, decides, decrees, desires, destines, dictates, mandates, likes, orders, pleases, prefers, rules, selects, wants or wishes)
  • بِغَيۡرِ — Bay-ghai-ray — Without (= Separately the word بِ means with and غَيۡرِ means out of, other or else. The combination means without)
  • حِسَابٍ — Hay-saa-bin — Measure (= n., Adjustment; balance; closure; count; calculation; computation; measurement; reckoning; settlement. Also, accounting, adjusting and balancing all credits and debits of an account to a final figure to close it. Bringing or calling to account)
