The Holy Qor-aan                                                                                                                   002:221

 

  فِى الدُّنۡيَا وَالۡاٰخِرَةِؕ وَيَسۡـــَٔلُوۡنَكَ عَنِ الۡيَتٰمٰىؕ قُلۡ اِصۡلَاحٌ لَّهُمۡ خَيۡرٌ ؕ وَاِنۡ تُخَالِطُوۡهُمۡ فَاِخۡوَانُكُمۡ‌ؕ وَاللّٰهُ يَعۡلَمُ الۡمُفۡسِدَ مِنَ الۡمُصۡلِحِ‌ؕ وَلَوۡ شَآءَ اللّٰهُ لَاَعۡنَتَكُمۡؕ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ عَزِيۡزٌ حَكِيۡمٌ‏


Fid-doon-ya-wul-aa-khay-ra-taay.                                                                                                Wa-yus-aloo-na-ka-unil-ya-taa-maa.                                                                                           Qool-is-laa-hoon-la-hoom-khai-r.                                                                                                    Wa-in-to-khaa-lay-to-hoom                                                                                                            Fa-ikh-waa-no-koom                                                                                                                           Wul-laa-ho-yau-la-mool-moof-say-do-may-nul-moos-lay-hay                                              Wa-lao-shaa-al-laa-ho-la-au-na-ta-koom                                                                                        In-nul-laa-ha-aa-zee-zoon-ha-kee-m. 

 

In the life Here and the Hereafter.                                                                                    And they ask you about the orphans.                                                                                You say, “Making improvements for them is the best.                                                  And if you mix their affairs with yours                                                                                Then remember they are your brethren.”                                                                       And Allah knows the unjust from the just.                                                                   And if Allah chose He definitely would have afflicted you.                                          Most certainly Allah is the Mightiest, the Wisest.

  • فِىۡ — Fe…(id) — In (= 1. Inside or during an event, time, period, place or thing.  2. Concerning; in reference to; regarding; relative to; for the sake of)
  • ٱلدُّنۡيا — Doon-ya — Present life (= Close at hand. Life here on earth. Life of near term, of short term, of near world.  Near life.  The near one.  The Present.  World at hand.  Worldly benefits, happiness or pleasures.  Hither, the opposite of the Hereafter or Life after death.   Worldly)
  • وَ —  Wa…(ul) — And (= Additionally; in addition to; also but, yet or though)
  • ٱلۡأَخِرَةِ‌ — Aa-khay-ra-tay — The Hereafter (= Life in the Hereafter; beyond this life; life after death; next life or world; the distant world yet to come later on the far one; yet to come)
  • وَ — Wa  — And (= Additionally; also; although; but; in addition to; yet)
  • يَسۡـَٔلُونَ — Yus-aloo-na — The ask (= Enquire; inquire; interrogate; question; seek info)
  • كَ — Ka — You (= pro., s., m., 2nd person.   You single male.   The addressee  of this divine message is initially the Holy Prophet s.a.w and secondarily every Moslem, in fact every human being.  See the Note under 002:005)
  • عَنِ —  Un…(il) — About (= Concerning; regarding; relative to)
  • ٱلۡيَتَـٰمَى  — Ya-ta-maa — The orphans (= n., pl., Kids with no parent; Children without one or both parents. Generally refers to the helpless children who are destitute)
  • قُلِ — Qool — You say (= Announce; broadcast; convey; declare; explain; inform    expound; inform; reply; specify; state; tell.  See our Commentary ‘You Say’…. means)
  • إِصۡلَاحٌ۬ — Is-laa-hoon — Improving (= n., 1. Correcting; helping to grow; making better; reforming things to become in accordance with equity and fairness.   2. Doing the best, the good and the right.  3. Dealing diligently, equitably, fairly, justly, honestly, properly and rightly to promote, protect, safeguard, set right and work the orphans’ affairs, assets, interests, property and welfare)
  •  لَّ — La — For (= For the benefit, object, purpose or reason; with intent to)
  • ھُمۡ‌ — Hoom — Them (= Pronoun referring to ‘all those men, masculine gender)
  • خَيۡرٌ  — Khai-r — The best (= 1. Appreciable; better; excellent; good news; virtuous; meritorious; preferable. 2. Comparatively superior; of greater, higher or more value.3. At apex; best; noblest)
  • وَ — Wa — But (= Additionally; also; although; and; in addition to; yet)
  • اِنۡ — In — If — (= If the situation arises; in case; under the circumstances)
  • تُخَالِطُو — To-kha-lay-to —  You mix (= 1. Mingle affairs, assets and property of the orphans with yours.   2. Develop relations; interact socially; intermix; living together; socialize)
  • ھُمۡ‌ —  Hoom — Them  (= Refers to the affairs of the orphans)
  • فَ — Fa — Then (= Consequently; resultantly; so; thereafter; therefore; yet)
  • إِخۡوَٲنُ — Ikh-waa-no — Brethren (= n., pl., Those in the extended family of a community who are like brothers and sisters)
  • کُمۡ — Koom — You (= pro., pl., m., 2nd person. You. The Holy Qor-aan states this way when addressing both men and women jointly)
  • وَ — Wa…(ul) — And (= The وَ  vaao is tantamount to taking oath; solemn declaration or calling as a witness.   Normally a Conj., links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; also; and; but; more over; though; when; while; yet; whereupon)
  • اللّٰهُ — Laa-ho — Allah (= The Almighty God; The only One worthy of worship)
  • يَعۡلَمُ — Yau-la-mo..(ol) — Knows (= Has the information; is aware of)
  • ٱلۡمُفۡسِدَ — Moof-say-da — The unjust (= s., Bad person; corrupt; corruption creator; disruption developer; evil-doer; law-breaker; mischief monger; mischievous; spoiler; unfair; he who spreads the bad  and the evil. A/t/a he who deteriorate dwindles, diminishes and dissipates orphans’ assets fast)
  • مِنَ — May-n…(ul) — From (= Apart or distinguished from; from among the class, category or count of; out of)
  • ٱلۡمُصۡلِحِ‌ — Moos-lay-hay — The just (= n., s.,  Good person; fair, honest and just person; peace-maker; reformer; right-doer; who do good and improve the prevailing conditions; who means and does the good. A/t/a he who preserves orphans’ assets)
  • وَ — Wa — And (= Additionally; in addition to; also but, yet or though)
  • لَوۡ — Lao — If (= If the situation arises; in case; under the circumstances)
  • شَآءَ — Shaa-a…(ul) — He chose (= v., past., s., 3rd person. Allowed; approved; chose;  decided; decreed; designed; determined; dictated; elected; enforced; liked; permitted; planned; pleased; preferred; selected; sanctioned; willed. The meanings ‘desired, wanted or wished’ do not apply relative to the Almighty God Who has all control, power and will to implement instantly what He intends)
  • اللّٰهُ — Al-laa-ho — Allah (= The Almighty God; The only One worthy of worship)
  • لَ — La — Definitely (= Absolutely; certainly; positively; surely; truly; verily
  • أَعۡنَتَ — Au-na-ta — Afflicted (= v., Burdened with hard task; exposed to hardship; inflicted with extreme and insurmountable difficulty or hardship; inconvenienced; made matters worse; put into difficulties; over-burdened; over-taxed)  
  • کُمۡ — Koom — You (= pro., pl., m., 2nd person. You. The Holy Qor-aan states this way when addressing both men and women jointly)
  • اِنَّ — In-na…(ul) — Certainly (= Absolutely; definitely; doubtlessly; earnestly; indeed; positively; really; seriously; surely; truly; verily)
  • اللّٰهَ — Laa-ha — Allah (= The Almighty God; The only One worthy of worship)
  • عَزِيۡزٌ — Azee-zoon — Mightiest (= superlative form indicates the greatest, the highest, the most and highlights that none more than Him is reveredThe Highest; most elevated, honored and respected.  All-Mighty.   Exalted in might and the power.  Mightiest.  This one word has the meanings of Might with Respect)
  • حَکِيۡمٌ‏ — Ha-keem — All-Wise (= superlative form indicates the greatest, the highest, the most and highlights that none more than Him is Exalted in wisdom. Best Possessor of wisdom.  Extremely shrewd.  Full of wisdom.  The Wisest)
