The Holy Qor-aan 002:235
وَالَّذِيۡنَ يُتَوَفَّوۡنَ مِنۡكُمۡ وَيَذَرُوۡنَ اَزۡوَاجًا يَّتَرَبَّصۡنَ بِاَنۡفُسِهِنَّ اَرۡبَعَةَ اَشۡهُرٍ وَّعَشۡرًا ۚ فَاِذَا بَلَغۡنَ اَجَلَهُنَّ فَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيۡكُمۡ فِيۡمَا فَعَلۡنَ فِىۡٓ اَنۡفُسِهِنَّ بِالۡمَعۡرُوۡفِؕ وَاللّٰهُ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُوۡنَ خَبِيۡرٌ
Wa aul-la-ze-na ya-ta-wauf-fao-na min koom Wa ya-za-roo-na auz-waa-jaun Ya-ta-raub-baus-na bay aun-fo-say hin-na Aur-ba-aa-ta aush-ho-rin wa aush-ra
Fa aiy-zaa ba-laugh-na aa-ja-la hoon-na Fa laa jo-naa-ha aa-lai koom fee maa fa-aul-na Fee aun-fo-say hin-na bay il-mau-roo-f Wa aul-laa-ho bay-maa tau-ma-loo-na kha-bee-r
And those among you who die And leave behind spouses (= widows) Waiting with themselves Four months and ten days (= The period of of Iddaut)
Then when they have completed their term Then there is no sin on you in what they do Regarding themselves with grace. And by God Allah is Well-informed with all that you do.

- کُمۡ — Koom — You (= pro., pl., m., 2nd person. You. The Holy Qor-aan states this way when addressing both men and women jointly)
- وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., It links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ above)
- يَذَرُوۡنَ — Ya-za-roo-na — Leave behind (= v., pres., pl., 3rd person. As heir and widows)
- اَزۡوَاجًا — Auz-waa-jaun –Spouses (= n., Wives. Widows; female counterpart of a married couple. Surviving life companions, mates or spouses)
- يَتَرَ بَّصۡنَ — Ya-ta-raub-baus-na — They wait (= v., pres., pl., 3rd person. Keep in waiting. Period to wait. A/t/a, ‘Wait having conjugal relationship)
- بِ — Bay — With (= The Arabic word بِ literally means ‘with’ in English. Also, concerning; relative to
- اَنۡفُسِ — Aun-fo-say — Selves (= pl., Hearts; individuals; minds; persons; souls)
- هُنَّ — Hoon-na — Them (= pl, f, in 3rd person. Refers to aforesaid women)
- اَرۡبَعَةَ — Aur-ba-aa-ta — Four (= The cardinal number 3 + 1. This and the next three words constitute one period of Iddaut, i.e. gestation that determines if the widow is pregnant with a child from the husband who has just died)
- اَشۡهُرٍ — Ash-ho-rin — Months (= n., pl., One-twelfth of a year)
- وَّ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ above)
- عَشۡرًا — Aush-raa — Ten (= #10; cardinal number that equals the sum of 9 + 1)
- فَ — Fa — Then (= Consequently; as a result; so; thus; therefore; yet)
- اِذَاۤ — Aiy-zaa — When (= Any time or event; whenever)
- بَلَغۡنَ — Ba-laugh — Completed (= v., past., pl., 3rd person. Approached, arrived, attained, came upon, completed, delivered, finished, fulfilled or reached the end of the prescribed term)
- اَجَلَ — Aa-ja-la — Term (= Duration; period. The term Iddut [counted days] is the prescribed period of waiting after the divorce process has been commenced)
- هُنَّ — Hoon-na — Their (= pl, f, in 3rd person. Refers to aforesaid women)

- عَلَيۡ — Aa-lai — On (= Above; against; during; for; on; on top of; over; upon. A/t/a No blame will attach or come to you for what they do for themselves)
- کُمۡ — Koom — You (= pro., pl., m., 2nd person. You. The Holy Qor-aan states this way when addressing both men and women jointly)
- فِىۡ — Fee — In (= Amidst, among, contained or inside a duration, event time, place, period, thing or situation. Also, concerning; in reference, regarding; relative to)
- مَاۤ — Maa — All that (= What; whatever; whatsoever)
- فَعَلۡنَ — Fa-aul-na — They did (= v, past., f/pl., 3rd person. Acted; committed; dealt; fell doing; performed; proceeded; reacted; rendered; returned; treated. A/t/a, ‘Did any lawful deed concerning themselves,’ ‘disposed of themselves provided it is honorable,’ or ‘any proper thing which they do concerning themselves’. These translations have obviously added above-mentioned italicized conditions to limit a widows’ right to manage her affairs as she saw appropriate, fit and proper)

- الۡمَعۡرُوۡفِ — Mau-roo-fay — Grace (= adv., With grace and honor. In decency, equity, justice & kindness. On equitable terms. Appropriately; decently; equitably; fairly; honorably; lawfully; nicely; properly; reasonably; righteously; suitably. As per custom. According to usage. In a fair, just, appropriate, approved, becoming, befitting, customary, equitable, reasonable proper or suitable basis, fashion, manner, method, way or form. As a gesture of kindness)
- وَ — Wa … (ul) — By (= This وَ vaao is tantamount to taking oath; solemn declaration)
- اللّٰهُ — Laa-ho — Allah (= The Almighty God; The only One worthy of worship)
- بِمَا — Bay-maa — Of all that (= Combination of two words. بِ means ‘with / in’ and مَاۤ means ‘all that, whatever, whatsoever or whenever.’ The combination بِمَا (bay-maa) means ‘because of; on account of; for the reason; due to; with / in all that)
- تَعۡمَلُوۡنَ — Tau-ma-loo-na — You do (= v., pres., pl., 2nd person. Act; perform; practice. Allah is watching all you do)
- خَبِيۡرٌ — Kha-beer — Well-informed (= superlative form indicates the greatest, the highest, the most Aware, Informed and Knowledgeable. Knows all. All-Knowing; Knower of all that anyone does or ever did. Perfectly informed. With total information. Well-acquainted)
