The Holy Qor-aan 002:240
○ فَاِنۡ خِفۡتُمۡ فَرِجَالًا اَوۡ رُكۡبَانًا ۚ فَاِذَآ اَمِنۡتُمۡ فَاذۡکُرُوا اللّٰهَ کَمَا عَلَّمَکُمۡ مَّا لَمۡ تَكُوۡنُوۡا تَعۡلَمُوۡنَ
Fa-in-khif-toom-fa-ray-jaa-lun-auo-rook-ba-nun. Fa-ezaa-aa-min-toom-fuz-ko-rool-laa-ha Ka-maa-ul-la-ma-koom-maa-lum-ta-koo-noo-tau-la-moon.
So if you fear then pray walking or riding. Then when you get peace, then remember Allah As He has taught you that you did not know before.
- فَ — Fa — So (= Consequently; as a result; then; thus; therefore; yet)
- اِنۡ — In — If (= If situation arises; in case; under the circumstances)
- خِفۡ — Khif — Fear (= v., pres., 2nd person. Apprehend; suspect. Are afraid, scared or exposed to conditions beyond control such as a calamity, danger, disaster, disorder, disturbance, enemy, flood, law and order situation, mischief or war)
- تُمۡ — Toom — You (= pro., pl., m., 2nd person. You. The Holy Qor-aan states this way when addressing both men and women jointly
- فَ — Fa — Then * (= Consequently; as a result; so; thereafter; therefore; yet. Implied here is the Commandment that ‘You perform the prayers’ as directed in the previous verse. See the Note 002:240 below )
- رِجَالًا — Ray-jaa-lun — Walking (= On foot; standing; in whatever situation you are in)
- أَوۡ — Auo — Or (= Alternatively)
- رُكۡبَانًا — Rook-baa-nun — Riding * (= Mounting or riding a camel, on horse-back or any other means of transportation)
- فَ — Fa — Then (= Consequently; as a result; thereafter; therefore; yet)
- اِذَاۤ — E-zaa — When (= Any time or event; whenever)
- اَمِنۡ — Aa-min — Get peace (= v., Are safe or out of danger. Attain, enter, find, obtain, reach, regain or return to the conditions or situations of calm, peace, safety, security or tranquility. Come in or get back to a sanctuary – a proven a place of peace, safety or security. Feel secure. Get peace. No longer exposed to any hindrance, disturbance, law and order problem or turmoil)
- تُمۡ — Toom — You (= pro., pl., m., 2nd person. You. See تُمۡ above)
- فَ — Fa…(uz) — Then (= Consequently; as a result; so; thereafter; therefore; yet)
- اذۡکُرُوا — Uz-ko-roo..(l) — Remember (= v., pres., pl.,2nd person. 1. Attend to; bear in mind; call to mind; consider; contemplate; keep in mind; mention; pay attention; ponder; recall; reflect; think about or of. 2. Beseech, celebrate the praise, glorify, pray or praise with gratitude. Offer prayers; perform worships)
- ٱللَّهَ — Laa-ha — Allah (= The Almighty God; The only One worthy of worship)
- کَمَا — Ka-maa — Like (= In the fashion, line, manner, method, style or way. Identical to. Just as. Similar to)
- عَلَّمَ — Ul-la-ma — Taught (= v., past., Added, coached, directed; educated, guided, instructed, mandated, ordained, prescribed, trained and tutored with knowledge and learning to read and write)
- کُمۡ — Koom — You all (= pro., pl., m., 2nd person.. You . See تُمۡ above)
- مَّا — Maa — Which (= All that; what; whatever; whatsoever)
- لَمۡ — Lum — Not (= Never; no, not at all. A/t/a ‘hitherto did not know’)
- تَكُوۡنُوۡا — Ta-koo-noo — You had been (= In a state continuing from before, the past; heretofore)
- تَعۡلَمُوۡنَ — Tau-la-moon — You know (= Aware. Beneficiary of the process of عَلَّمَ stated above)
* Note 002:240. This verse is connected with the prior verse that commands observing the prayers conscientiously. One extrapolation has been to pray all the time no matter in what state and where you happens to be. See our Commentary Islam 102. A Yusuf Ai wrote of this command “As may be most convenient.” Ahmad Zidan stated to ‘pray in any situation.‘ Mostly translated is “If you are in a state of fear.” Implication is that you perform the prayers all the time, continually from the cradle to the grave. Pray as directed – in times of distress any which way you can and in times of peace the proper way.
