The Holy Qor-aan 002:264
قَوۡلٌ مَّعۡرُوۡفٌ وَّمَغۡفِرَةٌ خَيۡرٌ مِّنۡ صَدَقَةٍ يَّتۡبَعُهَاۤ اَذًىؕ وَاللّٰهُ غَنِىٌّ حَلِيۡمٌ
Qao-loon-mau-roo-foon-wa-mugh-fay-raa-toon Khai-roon-min-sa-da-qa-tin-yut-ba-o-haa-azun Wul-laa-ho-gha-nee-yoon-ha-leem
One kind word and forgiveness (are) Better than a charity that’s followed by injury. And by God Allah is Self-sufficient, Extremely Tolerant.
- قَوۡلٌ — Qao-loon — One word (= Advice; saying; speech; talk; word)
- مَّعۡرُوۡفٌ Mau-roo-foon — Kind (= Appropriate; customary, decent, equitable, fair, generous, graceful, honorable, just, kind, legal, proper, reasonable, suitable or within rights)
- وَّ — Wa — And (= Additionally in addition to; also)
- مَغۡفِرَةٌ — Mugh-fay-ra-toon — Forgiveness (= n., Accommodation; covering faults; excusing; forbearing; forgiving; tolerating)
- خَيۡرٌ — Khai-roon — Better (= Appreciable, happy or pleasant act, deed, thing, person or occasion. Preferable alternative. Comparatively superior; of greater, higher or more value)
- مِّنۡ — Min — From (= Compared with; out of a large number of choices)
- صَدَقَةٍ — Sa-da-qa-tin — A charity (= n., s., Act of true kindness; charitable contribution; donation)
- يَّتۡبَعُ — Yut-ba-o — Followed by (= v., s., Ended, pursue or tailed by)
- هَا — Haa — That (= Refers to the aforesaid act of kindness)
- اَذًى — A-zun — Injury (= n., Act that harms or hurts physically; a psychological or social insult; words that cause humiliation, injury, insult, pain or stress to the recipient of aforesaid charity, contribution or donation – A/t/a mischief-making)
- وَ — Wa…(ul) — And (= The وَ vaao is tantamount to taking oath; solemn declaration or calling as a witness. Normally a Conj., links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; also; and; but; more over; though; when; while; yet; whereupon)
- اللّٰهُ — Laa-ho — Allah (= The One and the Only One Almighty God)
- غَنِىٌّ — Gha-nee-yoon — Self-sufficient (= superlative form indicates the greatest, the highest, the most and highlights that none more than Him is far above needing anyone. Beyond need of or dependence on anybody. Free of wanting anything. Has no wants. Independent)
- حَلِيۡمٌ — Ha-lee-m — All-Forbearing (= superlative form indicates the greatest, the highest, the most and highlights that none more than Him is Who accommodates, excuses, forbears, overlooks, pardons, puts up with, and tolerates. Extremely Tolerant. Highly Indulgent. Most Forbearing)
