The Holy Qor-aan 003:039

هُنَالِكَ دَعَا زَكَرِيَّا رَبَّهٗ ۚ قَالَ رَبِّ هَبۡ لِىۡ مِنۡ لَّدُنۡكَ ذُرِّيَّةً طَيِّبَةًۚ اِنَّكَ سَمِيۡعُ الدُّعَآءِ
Hona-lay-ka-da-aa-za-ka-re-ya-rub-ba-hoo Qaa-la-rub-bay-hub-lee-min-la-doon-ka Zoor-re-ya-tun-tuy-yay-ba-tun-in-na-ka-sa-me-ood-do-aa.
On that Zacharias prayed to his God. “My God, grant me from only You a pious progeny. You certainly are the Hearer of the prayers.”
- هُنَالِكَ — Hona-lay-ka — On that (= On that occasion; then; thereupon. A/t/a, at that time; immediately; instantly; right there; then and there)
- دَعَا — Da-aa — Prayed (= v., Beseeched; called; implored; invoked; requested; supplicated. Also, announced, called, cried, hollered; screamed, spoke or shouted to draw attention)
- زَكَرِيَّا — Za-ka-re-ya — Zacharias (= The name of a Messenger / Prophet of Allah)
- رَبَّ — Rub-ba — God (= The Almighty Allah who fills needs of all creatures; Cherisher; Creator; Guardian; Master; Lord Provident. The Only One Who provides all that sustains life. The Ultimate Provider of air, water, food and whatever we and all other creatures need to live and subsist)
- هٗ — Hoo — His (= pro., s., f., 3rd person. Refers to Zachariah)
- قَالَ — Qaa-la — He said (= v., past, s., m., 3rd person. Asked; beseeched; declared; invoked; prayed; requested; specified; submitted; supplicated; stated; told)
- رَبِّ — Rub-bay — My God (= The Almighty Allah who fills all needs. See رَبُّ above)
- هَبۡ — Hub — Grant (= v., pres., 2nd person. Award; bestow; bless; gift; give)
- لِىۡ — Lee — For me (= Combination of two words. لِ means ‘for the benefit, object, purpose or reason; with intent to. ىۡ refers to ‘one, single person in either gender.’ Joined together they mean for me)
- مِنۡ — Min…(la) — From (= From the class, category, count or person or out of)
- لَّدُن — La-doon — Only (= 1- Exclusively; solely. 2- Presence; power
- كَ — Ka — You (= pro., s., m., 2nd person. Refers to the Almighty God)
- ذُرِّيَّةً — Zor-re-ya-tun — Progeny (= Children; descendants; family; future generations; kids; race; offspring. Generally used for male lineal issues)
- طَيِّبَةً — Toy-yay-ba-ton — Pious (= Best; clean; fairest; goodly; holy; honorable; legal; noble; pure; righteous; upright; without blemish
- اِنَّ — In-na — Most certainly (= Absolutely; definitely; doubtlessly; indeed; positively; really; surely; truly; verily)
- كَ — Ka — You (= pro., s., m., 2nd person. Refers to the Almighty God)
- سَمِيۡعٌ — Sa-mee..(ood) — Hearer (= superlative form indicates the greatest, the highest, the most, and highlights that none more than Him hears the best. All-hearing. Most Hearing. The Hearer. Hears to the ultimate maximum. Hears all wholly, entirely, surely, totally and truly. Real Hearer. The One from whom nothing is beyond, missed or out of His hearing
- الدُّعَآءِ — Do-aa-aiy –The prayers (= n., 1. Beseeching; imploring; invocation; request; supplication. 2. Announcement; call, cry, hollering; scream, speech or shout to draw attention for help)
