The Holy Qor-aan 003:044
يٰمَرۡيَمُ اقۡنُتِىۡ لِرَبِّكِ وَاسۡجُدِىۡ وَارۡكَعِىۡ مَعَ الرّٰكِعِيۡنَ
Yaa-mar-ya-mooq-na-tee-lay-rub-bay-kay Wus-jo-dee-wur-ka-ee-ma-urraa-ke-een.
Listen, Mary, be obedient to your God and prostrate And bow down along with those who bow down in worship
- يٰۤ — Yaa — Listen (= O!; be attentive; pay attention)
- مَرۡيَمَ — Mur-ya-mo(oq) — Mary (= The mother of Jesus Christ)
- اقۡنُتِىۡ — Ooq-na-tee — Be obedient (= v., s., f., Be devout; be docile; do as told; follow given instructions; pray and worship devoutly; surrender totally. A/t/a “Submit yourself with obedience”)
- لِ — Lay — For (= For the benefit, purpose or reason)
- رَبِّ — Rub-bay — God (= The Almighty Allah who fills needs of all creatures; Cherisher; Creator; Guardian; Master; Lord Provident. The Only One Who provides all that sustains life. The Ultimate Provider of air, water, food and whatever we and all other creatures need to live and subsist)
- كِ — Kay — You (= pro., f., s., 2nd person. You single female)
- وَ — Wa…(us) — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; but also; more over; though; when; while; yet; whereupon)
- اسۡجُدِىۡ — Us-jo-dee — Prostrate ( = v., s., f., Be humble; Put head down on floor in worship of the Almighty God in ultimate humility)
- وَ — W…(ur) — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ above)
- ارۡكَعِىۡ — Ur-ka-ee — Bow Down (= v., s., f., You single female bow head down in prayer; bow down from waist down while standing with the knees bent; bow down in worship; devote to the service of God; submit in obedience. Also, “Worship Him alone with single-minded devotion”)
- مَعَ — Ma-aa…(ur) — Along with (= In the company of; going with; following)
- الرّٰكِعِيۡنَ — Raa-kay-een — Who bow (= n., pl., Congregation of worshipers. Who submit to God Almighty in total obedience. Worshipers who pray as they bow down, lower their heads, and bend forward from the waist while still standing on feet. Worshipers who worship with a single-minded and wholehearted devotion in service of God. See also 002:044)
