The Holy Qor-aan                                                                                                          003:067

 

هٰۤاَنۡـتُمۡ هٰٓؤُلَآءِ حٰجَجۡتُمۡ فِيۡمَا لَـكُمۡ بِهٖ عِلۡمٌ فَلِمَ تُحَآجُّوۡنَ فِيۡمَا لَـيۡسَ لَـكُمۡ بِهٖ عِلۡمٌ‌ؕ وَاللّٰهُ يَعۡلَمُ وَاَنۡـتُمۡ لَا تَعۡلَمُوۡنَ‏

 

Haa-un-toom-haa-o-laa-aiy-haa-juj-toom                                                                                   Fee-maa-la-koom-bay-he-il-moon                                                                                                      Fa-lay-ma-to-haaj-joo-na-fee-maa                                                                                                    Lai-sa-la-kooom-bay-he-il-moon                                                                                                   Wul-laa-ho-yau-la-mo-wa-un-toom-laa-tau-la-moo-n

 

Listen! you all over here!! You surely argued                                                                  About that for which you are with knowledge.                                                                  But then why do you argue about that                                                                               For which you are with no knowledge.                                                                             By God Allah knows and you surely do not know.   

 

  • هٰۤ — Haa — Listen (= Behold; hearken; hey; hi; indeed; pay attention)
  • اَنۡ — Un — Surely (= Absolutely; certainly; decidedly; definitely; doubtlessly earnestly; indeed; positively; really; seriously; verily)
  • تُمۡ — Toom — All of you (= pro., pl., m., 2nd person. You. The Holy Qor-aan states this way when addressing both men and women jointly
  • هٰٓؤُلَآءِ — Haa-o-laa-aiy — Over here (= pl., All these. Refers to the disbelievers)
  • حٰجَجۡ — Haa-juj — Argued (= v., Contended; debated; discussed; disputed; wrangled. Had argument or fought verbally in vain)
  • تُمۡ — Toom — You (= pro., pl., m., 2nd person. You. See  تُمۡ  above)
  • فِىۡ — Fee — About (= Concerning; in; in reference; in the matters; regarding; relative to. Also, amidst, among, contained or inside a duration, event, time, period, place, thing or situation)
  • مَاۤ — Maa — That (= All that; what; whatever; whatsoever)
  • لَ — La — For which (= Also, for the attention, benefit, convenience, determination, object or purpose of; to; towards)
  • كُمۡ — Koom — You (= pro., pl., m., 2nd person., You . The Holy Qor-aan states that way when addressing both men and women jointly)
  • بِ — Bay — With (= This word in Arabic literally means ‘with’)
  • هٖ — He — It (= pro., s., m., 3rd person. Refers to the knowledge)
  •  عِلۡمٌ — Il-moon — Knowledge (= n., Awareness; experience; expertise; familiarity with  facts; intellect; intelligence know-how; power of mind; solid information accumulated based upon wisdom; intelligence, perfect knowledge, total awareness and appropriate instruction)
  • فَ — Fa — Then (= As a result; consequently; hence; so; thereafter; therefore)
  • لِمَ  — Lay-ma — Why (= Must you; what for; what reason)
  • تُحَآجُّوۡنَ — To-haaj-joo-na — You argue (= v., pres., 2nd person. This has combined two words. The first word تُ (to = you) pin-points the addressee to 2nd person. The second is  حَآجُّوۡنَ (haaj-joo-na) means argue or fight verbally in vain, contend, debate, discuss unnecessarily without making a valid point, dispute or wrangle)
  • فِىۡ —  Fee  — About (= Concerning; in; in reference; in the matters; regarding; relative to. Also, amidst, among, contained or inside a duration, event, time, period, place, thing or situation)
  • مَاۤ  — Maa — That (= All that; what; whatever; whatsoever)
  • لَـيۡسَ — Lai-sa — No (= Absolutely no; none whatsoever; not at all)
  • لَ — La — For which (= Also, for the attention, benefit, convenience, determination, object or purpose of; to; towards)
  • كُمۡ — Koom — You (= pro., pl., m., 2nd person., You . The Holy Qor-aan states that way when addressing both men and women jointly)
  • بِ — Bay — With (= This word in Arabic literally means ‘with’)
  • هٖ — He — It (= pro., s., m., 3rd person. Refers to the knowledge)
  • عِلۡمٌ — Il-moon — Knowledge (= n., Awareness; experience; expertise; familiarity with  facts; intellect; intelligence know-how; power of mind; solid information accumulated based upon wisdom; intelligence, perfect knowledge, total awareness and appropriate instruction)
  • وَ — Wa…(ul) — And (= The  وَ   vaao is tantamount to taking oath; solemn declaration or calling as a witness. Normally a Conj., links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; also; and; but; indeed; more over; though; when; while; yet)
  • اللّٰهُ — Laa-ho — Allah (= The One and the Only One Almighty God)
  • يَعۡلَمُ — Yau-la-mo — Knows (= v., Has knowledge; is aware)
  • وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ  above)
  • اَنۡ — Un — Surely (= Absolutely; certainly; decidedly; definitely; doubtlessly; earnestly; indeed; positively; really; truly; verily)
  • تُمۡ — Toom — You (= pro., pl., m., 2nd person. You. See  تُمۡ  above)
  • لَا — Laa — Do not (= Absolute denial; never; not at all; total negation)
  • تَعۡلَمُوۡنَ — Tau-la-moo-n — You know (= v., pres., pl., 2nd person. You are in the know of it; become aware; come to know; get informed; turn into knowing)
