The Holy Qor-aan 003:070
وَدَّتۡ طَّآٮِٕفَةٌ مِّنۡ اَهۡلِ الۡكِتٰبِ لَوۡ يُضِلُّوۡنَكُمؕۡ وَمَا يُضِلُّوۡنَ اِلَّاۤ اَنۡفُسَهُمۡ وَمَا يَشۡعُرُوۡنَ
Wud-dut-taa-aiy-fa-toon-min-aah-lil-kay-taa-bay Lao-yo-dzil-loo-na-koom Wa-maa-yo-dzil-loo-na-il-laa-un-fo-sa-hoom Wa-maa-yush-o-roo-n
A group from among the People of Book loved If they could mislead you. And they do not mislead except their own selves. And they do not realize.
- وَدَّتۡ — Wud-dut — Loved (= v., f., Cherished; craved desired; liked; longed; wanted; wished; sought. Enthusiastically and willingly went after. A/t/a, “fain lead”)
- طَّآٮِٕفَةٌ — Taa-aiy-fa-toon — Group (= Bunch; crowd; gathering; mass; part; party; section; throng)
- مِّنۡ — Min — From (= Among, from or out of the class, category, count, kind of several articles, things, persons or phenomenon)
- اَهۡلِ — Aah-l(il) — People of (= Believers; citizens; folks; friends; masters; owners, people; population; supporters; those belonging to; those entrusted to; users)
- الۡكِتٰبِ — Ul-Kay-taa-bay — The Book (= n., The Divine Directive of Commands, Prohibitions and Regulations. Holy Scripture. See 002:003)
- لَوۡ — Lao — If (= Although; irrespective of; no matter; regardless)
- يُضِلُّوۡنَ — Yo-dzil-loo-na — They mislead (= v., pres., pl., 3rd person. Here the word is used for men. It means they fall into error, go astray, lose direction, take wrong road, or misdirect, misguide or mislead themselves or others. See Note 003:070)
- كُمۡ — Koom — You (= pro., pl., m., 2nd person., You . The Holy Qor-aan states that way when addressing both men and women jointly)
- وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; but; also; more over; though; when; while; yet; whereupon)
- مَاۤ — Maa — Do not (= Absolutely not; no; never)
- يُضِلُّوۡنَ — Yo-dzil-loo-na — They mislead (= v., pres., pl., 3rd person. Go astray. See يُضِلُّوۡنَ above)
- اِلَّا — Il-laa — Except (= Apart from; besides; excluding; save; unless
- اَنۡفُسَ — Un-fo-sa — Selves (= n., pl., Hearts; individuals; minds; own sake; persons; individuals; people; souls.)
- هُمۡ — Hoom — Them (= pro., pl., m., 3rd person. Refers to aforesaid persons)
- وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; but; also; more over; though; when; while; yet; whereupon)
- مَاۤ — Maa — Do not (= Absolutely not; no; never)
- يَشۡعُرُوۡنَ — Yush-o-roo-n — They realize (= v., pres., Are conscious or fully aware. Comprehend. Perceive. Understand)
** Note 003:070. The word يُضِلّ (yo-dzil-lo) used with the Almighty God means He lets man stray, go his own way, lead himself or turn in wrong direction. The same word used for human being means that he falls into error, goes astray, loses direction, takes wrong road, or misdirects, misguides or misleads himself and others.
