The Holy Qor-aan 003:104
وَاعۡتَصِمُوۡا بِحَبۡلِ اللّٰهِ جَمِيۡعًا وَّلَا تَفَرَّقُوۡا وَاذۡكُرُوۡا نِعۡمَتَ اللّٰهِ عَلَيۡكُمۡ اِذۡ كُنۡتُمۡ اَعۡدَآءً فَاَ لَّفَ بَيۡنَ قُلُوۡبِكُمۡ فَاَصۡبَحۡتُمۡ بِنِعۡمَتِهٖۤ اِخۡوَانًا ۚ وَكُنۡتُمۡ عَلٰى شَفَا حُفۡرَةٍ مِّنَ النَّارِ فَاَنۡقَذَ كُمۡ مِّنۡهَا ؕ كَذٰلِكَ يُبَيِّنُ اللّٰهُ لَـكُمۡ اٰيٰتِهٖ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَهۡتَدُوۡنَ
Wau-ta-say-moo-bay-hub-lil-laa-hay-ja-me-un-wa-laa-ta-fur-ra-qoo Wuz-ko-roo-nae-ma-tul-laa-hay-alai-koom-iz-koon-toom-au-daa-un Fa-ul-la-fa-bai-na-qo-loo-bay-koom Fa-us-bah-toom-bay-nae-ma-tay-he-ikh-waa-naa Wa-koon-toom-alaa-sha-fa-aa-hoof-ra-tin-may-nun-naa-ray Fa-un-qa-za-koom-min-haa Ka-zaa-lay-ka-yo-buy-yay-nool-laa-ho-la-koom Aa-yaa-tay-he-la-ul-la-koom-tah-ta-doo-n
And you all hold fast the rope of Allah and be not divided. And remember the blessing of Allah upon you when you were enemies Then He created love among your hearts So you became with His grace brethren. And you were on a crumbling edge of a pit of Fire So He saved you from falling into it. This is how Allah makes His signs crystal clear for you So that you can find the right road.
- وَ — Wa … (au) — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; but; also; more over; though; when; while; yet; whereupon)
- اعۡتَصِمُوۡا — Au-ta-say-moo — You hold fast (= v., pres., pl., 2nd person., Attach in a non-removable manner; cling; get, obtain, seek, secure or take protection. See Commentary titled as ‘Connection with God and Man’)
- بِ — Bay — With (= Literally the word بِ means ‘with’)
- حَبۡلِ — Hub-lay…(il) — Rope (= A twisted rope of a thick twine. Also, bond; cable; connection; cord; link. twine. A/t/a, a covenant; a means of access. A/t/a, “Rope of Allah (i.e. the Quran) – [Dr Khan Dr Al-Hilal]. ”Rope which God (stretches out for you)” – [A Yusuf Ali])
- اللّٰهِ — Laa-hay — Allah (= The One and the Only One Almighty God)
- جَمِيۡعًا — Ja-me-un — All (= adv., Altogether; completely; entirely; totally; wholly. Also, accumulation, amassing, assembly or collection; every one; everything; in large numbers; in multitudes)
- وَّ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ above)
- لَا — Laa — Not (= Absolute denial; never; no; not at all; total negation)
- تَفَرَّقُوۡا — Ta-fur-ra-qoo — Be divided (= v., pres., pl., Become differing, disputing, dissenting, disunited, parted or partitioned or separated among yourselves; split. A/t/a, Failed to make schisms. One translation “Be not divided among yourselves” prohibits being brutalized by yourselves. The other translation “Let nothing divide you” cautions against being brutalized by a third party)

- اذۡكُرُوۡا — Uz-ko-roo — Remember (= v., pres., pl.,2nd person. 1. Beseech, celebrate the praise, glorify, pray or praise with gratitude. Offer prayers; perform worships. A/t/a, “Remember with gratitude”)
- نِعۡمَتَ Nae-ma-ta..(ul) — Blessing (= n., s., Special gift, favor or reward. See Note 002:212)
- اللّٰهِ — Laa-hay — Allah (= The One and the Only One Almighty God)
- عَلَيۡ — Alai — On (= Awarded, bestowed, given or laid … above, against, before, during, for, on, on top of, over, to or upon)
- كُمۡ — Koom — You (= pro., pl., m., 2nd person., You . The Holy Qor-aan states that way when addressing both men and women jointly)
- اِذۡ — Iz — When (= At the time or event; behold; call to mind; consider; now that; ponder over; recall; reflect, remember; think of the event, occasion, opportunity or time; whenever)
- كُنۡتُمۡ — Koon-toom — You had been (= Since the past you were and have been continuously)
- اَعۡدَآءً — Au-daa-un — Enemies (= Adverse; hostile; inimical towards each other)
- فَ — Fa — Then (= As a result; but; consequently; hence; so; thereafter; therefore; yet)
- اَ لَّفَ — Ul-la-fa — Created love (= v., past.,3rd person., Befriended. Brought together. Developed mutual adoration, admiration, appreciation, love, honor and respect for each other. Joined in love. United in love)
- بَيۡنَ — Bai-na — Among (= Ahead, facing or in front of; in; between; betwixt)
- قُلُوۡبِ — Qo-loo-bay — Hearts (= n., pl., 1. Mind; inner soul; ability to think, choose, decide and act in an appropriate manner both physically and spiritually; understanding 2. The central organ inside the chest of all living creatures that keeps up the supply of blood to every tissue by pumping blood constantly through veins and controls all body parts and directs all their functions)

- فَ — Fa — Then (= As a result; but; consequently; hence. See فَ above)
- اَصۡبَحۡ — Us-bah — Became (= v., past., s., 3rd person. Turned into. Literally … ‘the morning found.’ A/t/a, ‘You are now’)
- تُمۡ — Toom — You (= pro., pl., m., 2nd person. You. The Holy Qor-aan states this way when addressing both men and women jointly

- حُفۡرَةٍ — Hoof-ra-tin — Pit (= Ditch; trench. A/t/a, abyss)
- مِّنَ — Min — From (= Among, from or out of the class or category of things)
- ٱلنَّارِ — Naa-ray — The Fire (= Rapid sustained chemical reaction releasing heat and light. Also, a source for light and heat)
- فَ — Fa — But (= As a result; but; consequently; hence. See فَ above)
- اَنۡقَذ — Un-qa-za — Saved (= v., past., Held back from falling into; protected; rescued; secured)
- كُمۡ — Koom — You (= pro., pl., m., 2nd person., You . See كُمۡ above)
- مِّنۡ — Min — From (= Among, from or out of the class or category of things)
- هَا — Haa — It (= pro., s., f., 3rd person., Refers to aforesaid ‘Fire’)
- كَذٰلِكِ — Ka-zaa-lay-ka — This is how (= Combines two words. كَ means ‘example, like, identical resembling, similar.’ ذٰلِكَ means ‘all this right in here and refers to an aforesaid event, fact, person or statement. The combination means ‘even so’, ‘like this’, ‘so it will be’, ‘the same way’, ‘that is how’, this way’. A/t/a, ‘such is the way of Allah’)
- يُبَيِّنُ — Yo-buy-yay-no — Makes clear (= v., pres., Clarifies; elaborates; espouses; explains; expounds; informs;. Makes things crystal clear, obvious, plain and known well. A/t/a, sets limits for permissible activity)
- اللّٰهُ — Laa-ho — Allah (= The One and the Only One Almighty God)
- لَ — La — For (= For the attention, benefit, convenience, determination, object, general convenience or purpose; to; towards. Also, concerning, regarding; relative to; intended for)

- اٰيٰتِ — Aa-ya-tay — Signs (= pl of 1. Manifestation; message; narrative; revelation; verse. 2. Command; direction; evidence; law; order. 3. Corroboration; indication; lesson; portent; proof; pointer; symbol; token. 4. Every element to create the crystal clear picture leading to an absolute conviction. 5. Argument, part or portion that highlights or points to something)

- لَعَلَّ — La-ul-la — So that (= Haply; hopefully; perchance; perhaps; possibly; hope and wish; maybe; wanting and wishing the result to be
- كُمۡ — Koom — You (= pro., pl., m., 2nd person., You . See كُمۡ above)
- تَهۡتَدُوۡنَ — Tah-ta-doo-n — Find right road (= v., pres., Be guided; get to see the straight line, proper path, right road. Receive guidance)
