003:133

The Holy Qor-aan                                                                                                              003:133

وَاَطِيۡعُوا اللّٰهَ وَالرَّسُوۡلَ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تُرۡحَمُوۡنَ‌ۚ‏

Wa-aa-tee-ool-laa-ha-wur-ra-soo-la-ul-la-koom-toor-ha-moo-n

And obey Allah and the Messenger so that you can be shown mercy

.

  • وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; but; also; more over; though; when; while; yet; whereupon)

The Holy Qor-aan has often used the Phrase Aa-tee-ool-laa-ha-wa-aa-tee-oor-ra-soo-la

  • اَطِيۡعُوا — Aa-tee-oo…(l) — You all obey (= v., pres., pl., 2nd person. Carry out directions; follow. Relative to Allah, the word implies implementing His Commandments and Prohibitions. See Commentary The Obedience)
  • ٱللَّهَ — Laa-ha — Allah (= The One and the Only One Almighty God)
  • وَ — Wa … (ur) — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; but; also; instead; more over; rather; though; when; yet; whereupon; while)
  • الرَّسُوۡلَ — Ra-soo-la — The Messenger (= n., s., Apostle; prophet; sage; saint. The ال before the word  رَّسُوۡلَ  particularizes it to invariably mean the Holy Prophet Mohammad, pace and blessings on him)
  • لَعَلَّ — La-ul-la — So that (= Gave chance; haply; hopefully; perchance; possibly; hope and wish that it becomes; wishing a result to be. A/t/a, ‘Peradventure’; ‘Perhaps you will give thanks to Him’)
  • کُمۡ — Koom — You (= pro., pl., m., 2nd person. You men. Generally this way the Holy Qor-aan addresses both men and women)
  • تُرۡحَمُوۡنَ — Toor-ha-moo-n — Shown mercy (= v., passive., Blessed; shown mercy. A/t/a, ‘Attain mercy,’ ‘find mercy’ and ‘obtain mercy’ but these translations being in active voice are grammatically incorrect)

Reproduced since the message in the first five letters is repeated among others in verse 003:033

* Note 003:033. This verse commands every Moslem to deliver the message of “Obey Allah and the Messenger” to an unspecified number of addressees including but not limited to the following.

  1. Who convey the message to themselves based on the man-in-the-glass concept.
  2. Who deliver the message to the third parties in the whole wide world.
  3. Who take this as an exhortation to pray for God’s help in becoming obedient.
  4. Who seek (a) to ‘learn what God wants us to obey,’ (b) to make ‘every serious effort to actually obey’ God, and (c) to ‘see the fulfillment of God’s promise to reward those who strive’.
  5. Who heed the warning ‘God does not love the ungrateful’ and so avails themselves of the opportunity to please God by following this Commandment.
  6. Who obey the command to preach it without being hypocrites by violating it themselves.
