The Holy Qor-aan                                                                                                         003:138

 

قَدۡ خَلَتۡ مِنۡ قَبۡلِكُمۡ سُنَنٌ ۙ فَسِيۡرُوۡا فِى الۡاَرۡضِ فَانۡظُرُوۡا كَيۡفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الۡمُكَذِّبِيۡنَ‏

 

Qud-kha-lut-min-qub-lay-koom-so-na-noon                                                                                   Fa-see-roo-fil-ur-dzay-fun-zo-roo                                                                                                    Kai-fa-kaa-na-aa-qay-ba-tool-mo-kuz-zay-bee-n

 

Surely happened since before you were the situations.                                                 So take a walk on the earth. Then look                                                                              What had been the fate of the deniers.    

 

  • قَدۡ — Qud — Surely (= This word lays emphasis. Absolutely; categorically; assuredly; certainly; clearly; definitely; specially; doubtlessly; obviously; for sure; in spite of; positively; specifically; verily; with no doubt whatsoever)
  • خَلَتۡ — Kha-lut — Happened (= (= v., past., 3rd person., Became history; died; gone; gone by; have been; occurred; passed away; past. A/t/a ‘faced’)
  • مِنۡ — Min — From / since (= Among, from or out of the class or category or several articles, counts, kind, things, persons or phenomenon)
  • قَبۡلِ — Qub-lay — Before (= Earlier, former, older, past or prior times. Aforetime.  Ahead. Something that happened or occurred in prior periods antecedently, historically and previously)
  • كُمۡ — Koom — You (= pro., pl., m., 2nd person., You . The Holy Qor-aan states that way when addressing both men and women jointly)
  • سُنَنٌ — So-na-noon — Situations (= n., pl., Accounts; dispensations; examples; events; histories; incidents; stories; traditions. Included in the meanings are old, past or historical consequences, occurrences or follow ups. A/t/a, ‘Systems,’ ‘Ways of Life,’ ‘diverse dispensations,’ ‘generations’ and ‘similar ways’ (and mishaps of life) were faced by nations (believers and disbelievers) that have passed away’)
  • فَ — Fa — So (= As a result; consequently; hence; then; thereafter; yet; therefore; after all this; at the end; in the final analysis)

The text below is nearly repeated in verses 003:138 and 006:012

  • سِيۡرُوۡا — See-roo — Take a walk (= v., pl., 2nd  person., Go ahead; go forth; go out; travel;  journey; spread out. A/t/a, roam)
  • فِى — Fee — On / In (= In the instant case stating ‘On earth’ is more appropriate [See Note at 002:028] to convey in English the intent of original text.  Literally… Amidst, among, contained or inside a duration, event, time, place, period, thing or situation. A/t/a, through)
  • الۡاَرۡضِ — Ur-dzay — The earth (= n., Area; country; earth; ground; land; soil; territory. Also, life on earth, nation; people or society in general)
  • فَ — Fa…(un) — Then (= As a result; consequently; hence; so; thereafter; yet; therefore; after all this; at the end; in the final analysis)
  • انۡظُرُوۡا — (u)N-zo-roo — You look (= v., pres., pl., 2nd person. Check out; find; get to view;  look at; look out; observe; see; take notice; understand; view; watch for)
  • كَيۡفَ — Kai-fa — What (= How about. How would it be, do or fare. What would it look. In what fashion, manner or method; in which way)
  • كَانَ — Kaa-na — Had been (= v., p., s., m., 3rd person., Continued doing; had been;  used to; were, went on doing. This verb and its 14 grammatical variations indicate an act’s continuity from the past to the present and leading into the future)
  • عَاقِبَةُ ‏ — Aa-qay-ba-to(ol) — Fate (= n., Clear, manifest and obvious … Consequence, end, evil fate, follow-up, happening, process; occurrence or results. A/t/a, ‘nature of the consequences’)
  • الۡمُكَذِّبِيۡنَ — Mo-kuz-zay-bee-n — Deniers (= n., pl., Beliers. Liars. Rejecters or repudiators of the Truth. Those who refuse to accept the truth. Those who treated prophets as liars. A/t/a, who reject ‘fate’ (عَاقِبَةُ) or the examples ( سُنَنٌ ), who ‘cried lies (to the Prophets)’ and ‘disbelieved (in the Oneness of Allah, and disobeyed Him and His Messengers)’
