The Holy Qor-aan 003:174
اَلَّذِيۡنَ قَالَ لَهُمُ النَّاسُ اِنَّ النَّاسَ قَدۡ جَمَعُوۡا لَـكُمۡ فَاخۡشَوۡهُمۡ فَزَادَهُمۡ اِيۡمَانًا وَّقَالُوۡا حَسۡبُنَا اللّٰهُ وَنِعۡمَ الۡوَكِيۡلُ
Ul-la-ze-na-qaa-la-la-ho-moon-naa-so In-nun-naa-sa-qud-ja-ma-oo-la-koom-fukh-shao-hoom Fa-zaa-da-hoom-ee-maa-naa-wa-qaa-loo Hus-bo-nul-laa-ho-wa-nae-mul-wa-kee-l
Those to whom some people said Surely other people have assembled for hurting you; so fear them. But that increased them in faith and they said, “Allah has sufficed us and He is the Best Guardian.”
- ٱلَّذِينَ — Ul-la-zee-na — Those who (= pl., m, 3rd person. Refers to those ‘at the time of the expedition of Badr al-Sughra’ [annd, aro, amo] )
- قَا لَ — Qaa-la — Said (= v., past, s., m., 3rd person. Informed; specified; stated; told; warned. Also, admonished; asserted; called; claimed; conveyed; declared; directed; explained. A/t/a, translated in the passive voice as ‘on being told’ )
- لَ — La — To (= For the attention, object or purpose of; to; towards. Also, concerning, regarding; relative to; intended for)
- هُمُ — Ho-mo…(on) — Them (= pro., pl., m., 3 rd person. Refers to aforesaid People )
- النَّاسُ — Naa-so — The people (= Factions; folks, mankind, groups, men, nations or tribes. Human beings. A/t/a, ‘Hypocrites’)
- اِنَّ — In-na…(un) — Certainly (= Absolutely; definitely; doubtlessly; earnestly; indeed; positively; really; seriously; surely; truly; verily)
- النَّاسَ — Un-naa-sa — The people (= Factions; folks, mankind, groups, men, nations or tribes. Human beings. A/t/a, ‘A great army,’ ‘Great armies’ and ‘people (pagans)’
- قَدۡ — Qud — Surely (= This word lays emphasis. Absolutely; categorically; assuredly; certainly; clearly; definitely; specially; doubtlessly; obviously; for sure; in spite of; positively; specifically; verily; with no doubt whatsoever)
- جَمَعُوۡا — Ja-ma-oo — Assembled (= v., past., pl., 3rd person, Amassed; collected; gathered; piled up. Also, accumulated. A/t/a, translated correctly in the past tense are ‘mustered against’ and ‘mustered a great force against,’ but inaccurately translated in the present tense ‘is gathering’ because the Holy Qor-aan has originally used the verb in the past tense)
- لَ — La — For (= For the object or purpose of hurting you; to; towards. A/t/a, ‘against’)
- كُمۡ — Koom — You (= pro., pl., m., 2nd person., You . The Holy Qor-aan states that way when addressing both men and women jointly)
- فَ — Fa — So (= Hence; so; thus; after all this; at the end; in conclusion; consequently; finally; resultantly; thereafter; therefore)
- اخۡشَو — Ukh-shao — Fear (= v., pres., pl., 2nd person. Be afraid. Be scared. A/t/a, ‘Frightened them’)
- هُمۡ — Hoom — Them (= pro., pl., m., 3 rd person. Refers to aforesaid assembly)
- فَ — Fa — But (= After that; at the end; but; consequently; finally; hence; in conclusion; so; then; thereafter; therefore; thus)
- زَادَ — Zaa-da — That increased (= v., s., m., 3 rd person. Accentuated; multiplied. A/t/a, ‘grew tenacious’ and ‘it only increased their Faith’)
- هُمۡ — Hoom — Them (= pro., pl., m., 3 rd person. Refers to the believers)
- اِيۡمَانًا — Ee-maa-naa — Faith (= Assurance; belief and confidence in God and the virtue; commitment; confidence; conviction; dedication; devotion; faithfulness; reliance; trust)
- وَّ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; but also; more over; though; when; while; yet; whereupon)
- قَالُوۡا — Qaa-loo — They said (= v., past, s., m., 3rd person. Informed; specified; stated; told; warned. Also, admonished; asserted; called; claimed; conveyed; declared; directed; explained. A/t/a, ‘affirmed’)
- حَسۡبُ — Hus-bo — Sufficed (= v., past., s., 3rd person. Those people or things had fully, adequately, entirely or wholly … accounted, balanced, completed, counted, justified, reckoned, satisfied, settled, sufficed or suited)
- نَآ — Naa..(ul) — Us (= pro., pl., 1st person. Us)
- اللّٰهُ — Laa-ho — Allah (= The One and the Only One Almighty God)
- وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ above)
- نِعۡمَ — Nae-ma(ul) — Best (= Blessed; delightful; excellent; par excellence; tops)
- الۡوَكِيۡلُ — Wa-kee-l — Guardian (= superlative form indicates the greatest, the highest, the most, and highlights that none more than Him can guard and protect. Accountable. Capable. Conscientious. Dependable. In charge. Reliable. Responsible. Trusted. Trustworthy. A/t/a, ‘Trustee,’ ‘He in Whom we trust,’ ‘Protector,’ ‘Disposer of affairs,’ and ‘Disposer of affairs (for us)’
