The Holy Qor-aan                                                                                                                 003:180

 

مَا كَانَ اللّٰهُ لِيَذَرَ الۡمُؤۡمِنِيۡنَ عَلٰى مَاۤ اَنۡـتُمۡ عَلَيۡهِ حَتّٰى يَمِيۡزَ الۡخَبِيۡثَ مِنَ الطَّيِّبِ  ‌ؕ  وَمَا كَانَ اللّٰهُ لِيُطۡلِعَكُمۡ عَلَى الۡغَيۡبِ وَ لٰكِنَّ اللّٰهَ يَجۡتَبِىۡ مِنۡ رُّسُلِهٖ مَنۡ يَّشَآءُ‌ فَاٰمِنُوۡا بِاللّٰهِ وَرُسُلِهٖ‌ ۚ   وَاِنۡ تُؤۡمِنُوۡا وَتَتَّقُوۡا فَلَـكُمۡ اَجۡرٌ عَظِيۡمٌ

 

Maa-kaa-nul-laa-ho-lay-ya-za-rul-moe-may-nee-na                                                              Ala-maa-un-toom-alai-hay-hut-taa                                                                                                Ya-me-zul-kha-be-tha-may-nut-tuy-yay-bay                                                                              Wa-maa-kaa-nul-laa-ho-lay-yoot-lay-aa-koom-alul-ghai-bay                                              Wa-laa-kin-nul-laa-ha-yuj-ta-bee-mir-ro-so-lay-he-mun-ya-shaa-o                                  Fa-aa-may-noo-bil-laa-hay-wa-ro-so-lay-he                                                                              Wa-in-toe-may-noo-wa-tut-ta-qoo-fa-la-koom-uj-roon-aa-zee-m

 

Allah is not going to leave the Believers                                                                             On it (= the plight in which presently) you are until                                                  He distinguishes the unclean persons from the clean ones.                                        And Allah is not going to disclose to you the Unseen                                                    But Allah selects from His Messengers whom He chooses to do so.                        So believe in Allah and His Messengers.                                                                          And if you believe and be pious then for you is a great reward.

 

  • مَاۤ — Maa —  Not (=Absolutely not; no; never.  Also, ‘no intent.’ A/t/a, ‘not (the purpose) of,’ and ‘On no account’)
  • كَانَ — Kaa-na..(ul) — Has been (= v., p., s., m., 3rd person., Continued doing; had been; used to; were, went on doing. A/t/a, ‘God will not,’ and ‘Allah would not’)
  • اللّٰهُ — Laa-ho — Allah (= The One and the Only One Almighty God)
  • لِ — Lay — To / For (= Because of; concerning; due to; for the object, purpose or reason of; intended for; on account of; regarding; relative to. A/t/a, belonging to; to; towards)
  • يَذَرَ — Ya-za-ra — Leave (= v., pres., s., 3rd person. Abandon; discard; disown; forsake)
  • الۡمُؤۡمِنِيۡنَ — Moe-may-nee-na — The believers (= n,. Adherents of Islam; those who enter the Faith, believe and follow the Holy Qor-aan, the Islaam and become Moslems. Men of faith. The faithful)
  • عَلٰى — Alaa — On (= Above; against; during; for; on top of; over; to; upon. The word refers to the ‘condition, situation or state.’  A/t/a, ‘as you are,’ and ‘in your present  state’)
  • مَاۤ — Maa — What (= All that; whatever; whatsoever)
  • اَنۡ — Un — Surely (= Absolutely; certainly; definitely; positively; verily)
  • تُمۡ — Toom — You (= pro., pl., m., 2nd person. You, the Believers)
  • عَلَيۡ — Alai — On (= Above; against; before; during; for; over;  upon)
  • هِ — Hay — It (= pro., s., m; 3rd person., Refers to the current condition, situation or status. A/t/a, the ‘present plight’)
  • حَتّٰى — Hut-ta — Until (= By the end of the period or term; till the time)
  • يَمِيۡزَ — Ya-me-za..(ul)) — Distinguishes (= v., pres., s., 3rd person. Clarifies; separates; shows separately. A/t/a, the correct translation of the verb as used in the Holy Qor-aan is ‘separate’ or  ‘separates’ in the present tense. Its translations in the past tense as ‘separated’ is inaccurate)
  • الۡخَبِيۡثَ — Kha-be-tha — The unclean (= n., Bad; corrupt; dirty; evil; filthy; impure; wicked)
  • مِنَ — May-n…(ut) — From (= Among, from or out of the class or category or several articles, counts, kind, things, persons or phenomenon)
  • الطَّيِّبِ — Tuy-yay-bay — The clean (= n., Good; holy; past; pure)
  • وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; but; also; more over; though; when; while; yet; whereupon)
  • مَاۤ — Maa — Not (= Absolutely not; no; never. A/t/a, ‘not (the purpose) of’ )
  • كَانَ — Kaa-na..(ul)  Has been (= v., p., s., m., 3rd person., Continued doing; had been;  used to; were, went on doing)

  • يُطۡلِعَ — Yoot-lay-aa — Discloses (= v., pres., s., 3rd person. Informs; makes aware; reveals; shows. A/t/a, acquaints)
  • كُمۡ — Koom — You (= pro., pl., m., 2nd person., You . The Holy Qor-aan states that way when addressing both men and women jointly
  • عَلٰى — Ala..(ul) — On (= Above; against; before; during; for; on; on top of; over; to; upon)
  • الۡغَيۡبِ — Ghai-bay — The Unseen (= Hidden, invisible or secret realities hitherto unknown. The unknown. Things not yet known or seen. A/t/a, the ‘secrets of the Unseen.’ Also, the knowledge of things in the future that man has not yet known or seen (indicated in 081:025) or the history of nations gone by and the evolutionary stages of mankind)
  • وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ  above)
  • لٰـكِنۡ — Laa-kin — But (= However; instead; nevertheless; yet)
  • ٱللَّهَ — Laa-ha — Allah (= The One and the Only One Almighty God)
  • يَجۡتَبِىۡ — Yuj-ta-bee — Selects (= v., pres., s, m., 3rd person. Accepts; adopts; approves;   pinpoints. A/t/a, by adding ‘and vouchsafes to him the knowledge of the unseen,’ and He chooses of His Apostles (For the purpose)’)
  • مِنۡ — Min — From (= Among, from or out of the class or category or several articles, counts, kind, things, persons or phenomenon)
  • رُسُلِ — Ro-so-lay — Messengers (= pl., Apostles; God’s messengers; prophets; sages; saints
  • هٖ — He — His (= pro., s., m., 3rd person. Refers to the Almighty God)
  • مَنۡ — Mun…(ya) — Who (= Anyone; whoever; whom;     whomever; whoso)
  • يَّشَآءُ‌ — Ya-shaa-o — He chooses (= v., pres., s., 3rd person. Desires; likes; pleases; prefers; selects; wants; wills; wishes. A/t/a, Decides; decrees; destines, dictates; mandates, orders, rules)
  • فَ — Fa — So (= Hence; then; thus; after all this; at end; in conclusion; consequently; finally; resultantly; thereafter; therefore)
  • اٰمِنُوۡا — Aa-may-noo — You believe (= v., pres., pl., 2nd person. Believe in the Holy Qor-aan, become Moslems and enter the Faith of Iss-laam. Also, admit; affirm; approve; confirm; concur; corroborate; testify; witness. See Commentary Belief & Disbelieve)
  • بِ — Bay — With (= Literally the word  بِ  means ‘with’)
  • اللّٰهِ — Laa-hay — Allah (= The One and the Only One Almighty God)
  • وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ  above)
  • رُسُلِ — Ro-so-lay — Messengers (= pl., Apostles; God’s messengers; prophets; sages; saints)
  • هٖ — He — His (= pro., s., m., 3rd person. Refers to the Almighty God)
  • وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ  above)
  • اِنۡ — In —  If (= In case; under the circumstances; when; when situation arises; whenever)
  • تُؤۡمِنُوۡا — Toe-may-noo — You believe (= v., pl., pres., 3rd person. Believe in the Holy Qor-aan and become Moslems by entering the Faith of Iss-laam. Also, you admit, affirm, approve, confirm, concur, corroborate, give evidence; testify or witness. A/t/a, ‘Ye believe,’ or ‘you believe’)
  • وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ  above)
  • تَتَّقُوۡا — Tut-ta-qoo — Be pious (= v., pres., pl., 2nd person, Be God fearing, mindful of duty to God, righteous or upright. Protect against bad. Ward off evil. See Commentary The Righteous for other differently worded meanings. A/t/a, ‘are pious,’  ‘do right,’  ‘be righteous’ and ‘ward off (evil).’
  • فَ — Fa — Then (= Hence; so; thus; after all this; at the end; in conclusion;  consequently; finally; resultantly; thereafter; therefore)
  • لَ — La — For (= Because of; concerning; due to; for the object, purpose or reason of; intended for; on account of; regarding; relative to. A/t/a, belonging to; to; towards)
  • كُمۡ — Koom — You (= pro., pl., m., 2nd person., You . The Holy Qor-aan states that way when addressing both men and women jointly)
  • اَجۡرُ — Uj-roon — Reward (= n., s. Award; good result; prize; recognition; trophy)
  • عَظِيۡمٌ– Aa-zee-m — Great (= adj., Abounding; awe-inspiring; awesome; colossal; enormous; exceeding; extreme; fabulous; fantastic; greatest; immense; infinite; magnificent; massive; mighty; monstrous; sensational; superb; terrific; tremendous; vast; wonderful. This word accentuates the aforementioned condition and can describe (a) an extremely good, infinitely magnificent or wonderful condition, or ‘without measure’ or (b) an abjectly poor, awfully bad, disgustingly deplorable or frightfully  terrible event situation or scenario)
