**003:183: Various translators in translating this verse have exhibited the human nature of aggrandizing the scope of whatever they do. The same phenomenon also appeared for a long time in the American automakers promoting their new-year lower, longer and wider model as a car better than the earlier ones.
Notice how the meanings of the third word قَدَّ مَتۡ of this verse were enlarged, expanded, magnified or strengthened by adding words in the following manner. — ‘sent before’ [Maulana Muhammad Ali]; — ‘sent before you’ [Dr Muhammad Muhsin Khan and Dr.Tuqi-ud-Din Al-Hilali]; — ‘sent on before’ [Malik Ghulam Farid]; — ‘sent on before ye’ [Abdullah Yusuf Ali]; — ‘sent on before yourselves’ [Maulwi Sher Ali]; — ‘sent before (you to the judgment)’ [Muhammad Mermaduke Pickthall]; — ‘sent forward’ [Amatul Rahman Omar and Abdul Mannan Omar]; — ‘forwarded for you’ [Dr Ahmad Zidan ans Mrs Dina Zidan]; — ‘you have wrought’ [Muhammad Zafrulla Khan].
And then the words قَدَّمَتۡ اَيۡدِيۡكُمۡ were translated as ‘your misdeeds’ [N J Dawood] which may be the author’s interpretation but is not an exact translation of the words of the Holy Qor-aan.
