So their God accepted for them their prayer that “I never waste                              The deeds of any doer among you, from male or female,                                              Some of you are from some others.

So those who migrated, and were expelled from their homes,                                  And suffered in My cause, and fought, and were fought with,                                    Certainly I will remove from them the evil consequence of their deed,                  And I will enter them in                                                                                                        The Gardens underneath which rivers flow.

This is the reward from Allah                                                                                                And by God from Him is the best reward.

** Note 003:196. There is a promise in this verse. It assures the following five kinds of victims of persecution, oppression; suppression and other types of individual,  communal and societal cruelties.

  • Those whom persecution, oppression or suppression by government, law or masses force to abandon their home and hearth. They seek refuge in other countries, cultures or communication ways. Around 10 Million people migrated on partition of India. Several million Palestinians took refuge in many countries. Over a million Ahmadis were driven out of Pakistan to settle in 148 countries. Thousands of individuals have sought refuge in the Western countries. By proving well-founded fear of persecution the political asylum is generally available in USA to ‘those who emigrated.’
  • Those whom oppression, suppression or persecution by clergy or cliques render life so miserable that self-respect or similar considerations compel them to relocate just to live their lives. They stay within their hereditary culture and country but totally uprooted and ‘driven out of their homes.’
  • Those engaged in good causes but continually harmed in small measures. Example can be the philanthropists, government officers or big businessmen who can’t be harmed ostensibly but some angry employee or petty thug or thief undermines their social or economic well-being by underhandedly inflicting ‘on them loss while they do good work.’
  • Those who take remedial or retaliatory measures when oppressed or persecuted. An example can be the educated and well-to-do members of minorities who adopt some self-preservation techniques because they are ‘forced to fight back.
  • Those who are harmed or hurt secretly by one who can’t harm them by open, public or obvious methods. An example is a white-supremacist policeman restrained by anti-discriminatory laws who crushes the blacks who fall to him. The aggression, oppression or suppression could reach the stage of victims being ‘killed or slain.’
