The Holy Qor-aan 004:042
فَكَيۡـفَ اِذَا جِئۡـنَا مِنۡ كُلِّ اُمَّةٍ ۭ بِشَهِيۡدٍ وَّجِئۡـنَا بِكَ عَلٰى هٰٓؤُلَاۤءِ شَهِيۡدًا
Fa-kai-fa-ezaa-jaye-naa-min-kool-lay-oom-ma-tin-bay-sha-he-din Wa-jae-naa-bay-ka-alaa-haa-o-laa-aiy-sha-he-daa
So how about when We came from every nation with a witness And We came with you against all of them as a witness
- فَ — Fa — Then (= Hence; so; thus; after all this; at the end; in conclusion; in the final analysis; consequently; finally; resultantly; thereafter; therefore)
- كَيۡفَ — Kai-fa — How about (= How would it be, do or fare. What would it look. In what fashion, manner, method or way; think of the time, event, occasion, opportunity or time. A/t/a, ‘how will it fare with them,’ ‘how will it be,’how (will it be with them)’ and ‘How then (shall these wrongdoers fare)’)
- اِذَاۤ — Ezaa — When (= Any time or event; behold; call to mind, consider; recall ponder over; reflect; remember or think of the time, event, now that; occasion, opportunity; take into consideration; whenever)
- جِئۡ — Jaye — Came (= v., past., 1st person. Appeared; arrived; came to pass; drew closer; entered; got nearer; moved up, forward or toward; reached; rolled up; settled showed up; turned up; visited. Also as a combination of two words, جِئۡ means arrived + بِ means with (which is the 5th word forward in the verse) jointly mean brought. A/t/a ‘bring forth,’ ‘call’ and ‘produce’ are translations in the present tense when the Holy Qor-aan has stated this fact in the past tense)
- نَآ — Naa — We (= pro., pl., 1st person. Us. Used with God’s name it is the authoritative way a higher-up talks to a subordinate)
- مِنۡ — Min — From (= Among, from or out of the class or category of several articles, counts, kind, things, persons or phenomenon)
- كُلِّ — Kool-lay — Every (= All; altogether; each and everyone; everything with no exception; in every manner; total; very much; whole)
- اُمَّةٍ — Oom-ma-tin — Nation (= Community; group or large body of other people in the world. A/t/a, ‘people’)
- بِ — Bay — With (= Literally the word بِ means with)
- شَهِيۡدٍ — Sha-he-din — A witness (= n., s., Attester, observer, onlooker, testifier, verifier, watch, watcher or witness. Adducer of proof. Bearer, giver or provider of evidence or testimony. Producer of corroboration. Also, a helper, seer or supporter. See Note to 004:070)
- وَّ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; but; also; more over; though; when; while; yet; whereupon)
- جِئۡ — Jaye — Came (= v., past., pl., 1st person. Bring. See جِئۡ above. This and the next six words are also translated together as ‘call upon you to testify against them’)
- نَآ — Naa — We (= pro., pl., 1st person. Us. Used with God’s name it is the authoritative way a higher-up talks to a subordinate)
- بِ — Bay — With (= Literally the word بِ means with)
- كَ — Ka — You (= pro., s., m., 2nd person. You single male. A/t/a, , ‘you (O Muhammad s.a.w),’ ‘you (O prophet)’ and ‘Thee.’ Really the initial addressee of this divine message is the Holy Prophet s.a.w, and then every Moslem who follows the Holy Qor-aan. See Note 002:005)
- عَلٰى — Alaa — On (= Above; against; before; during; for; on; on top of; over; to; upon)
- هٰٓؤُلَآءِ — Haa-o-laa-aiy — All of them (= pl., All these. Refers to the disbelievers. A/t/a, ‘these,’ ‘these people’and ‘these (followers of yours)?’)’
- شَهِيۡدًا — Sha-he-daa — As a witness (= n., s., Attester, observer, onlooker. See شَهِيۡدٍ above)
