The Holy Qor-aan 004:056
فَمِنۡهُمۡ مَّنۡ اٰمَنَ بِهٖ وَمِنۡهُمۡ مَّنۡ صَدَّ عَنۡهُ ؕ وَكَفٰى بِجَهَـنَّمَ سَعِيۡرًا
Fa-min-hoom-mun-aa-ma-na-bay-he Wa-min-hoom-mun-sud-da-un-ho Wa-ka-faa-bay-ja-hun-na-ma-sa-ee-raa
So among them are those who believed in it And among them is he who blocked from it And sufficient with Hell is their burning big
- فَ — Fa — So (= Hence; so; thus; after all this; consequently; therefore)
- مِنۡ — Min — Among (= Among, from or out of the class or category of several articles, counts, kind, things, persons or phenomenon. A/t/a, ‘some’ and ‘of’)
- هُمۡ — Hoom — Those (= pro., pl., m., 3 rd person. Refers to the followers of Abraham mentioned in the previous verse)
- مَّنۡ — Mun — Who (= Anyone; whoever; whom; whomever; whoso. A/t/a, ‘some who’ and ‘(some) who’)
- اٰمَنَ — Aa-ma-na — He Believed (= v., past., s., 3rd person., Believed in the Holy Qor-aan, became Moslems and entered in the Faith of Isslaam — See the explanation in our Commentary Islam – 101. Also, he made peace, protected, rescued, saved or secured himself from sin and against fear.A/t/a, ‘believe’ but that translated the word as a verb in the present tense when the Holy Qor-aan has stated the fact in a verb in the past tense)
- بِ — Bay — In (= Literally the word بِ means with. Sometimes English translation is appropriate by using in instead of with)
- هٖ — He — It (= pro., s., m., 3rd person. It; him. The pronoun can refer to (1) it, the Scripture; (2) it, the grace of the Almighty God stated in the prior verse; (3) ‘it, (the Qur’an),’ (4) ‘he‘ the prophet Abraham, (5) ‘him,’ (5) ‘him (Muhammad s.a.w’ and (6) Him, the Almighty God)
- وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; but; also; more over; though; when; while; yet; whereupon)
- مِنۡ — Min — Among (= Among, from or out of the class. See مِنۡ above)
- هُمۡ — Hoom — Them (= pro., pl., m., 3 rd person. Refers to aforesaid people)
- مَّنۡ — Mun — Who (= Anyone; whoever; whom; whomever; whoso. A/t/a, ‘were others who’ and ‘were (some) who’)
- صَدَّ — Sud-da — Blocked (= v., past., s., 3rd person. Debarred; hindered; hurdled; interrupted; obstructed; prevented; restrained; stopped; turned away. Also, ‘held back,’ ‘hindered others,’ ‘averted or ‘turned away.’ A/t/a, ‘reject’ and ‘turns away’ but they are the translations as a verb in the present tense of what the Holy Qor-aan has stated as a verb in the past tense)
- عَنۡ — Un — From (= About; concerning; regarding; relative to)
- هُ –Ho — It (= pro., s., m., 3rd person. See هٖ above)
- وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ above)
- كَفٰى — Ka-faa — Sufficient (= Enough. A/t/a, ‘shall suffice,’ ‘sufficient for them as punishment is’ and ‘their portion’)
- بِ — Bay — With (= Literally the word بِ means with)
- جَهَـنَّمَ — Ja-hunna-ma — Hell (= Blazing Fire. Purgatory; Gehenna [aro. amo]; hell-fire. Also the hellish life in this world)
- سَعِيرً۬ا — Sa-ee-raa — Burning big (= n., Means, method, source or way to punish by burning. As adj., Burning in a fire that is ablaze, big, extreme, fierce, ferocious, severe or with flames. A/t/a, ‘burning fire,’ ‘blazing fire of,’ ‘exceedingly hot,’ ‘scourge is the fire of,’ ‘for burning (them)’ and ‘burning (those who turn away)’
