The Holy Qor-aan 004:060
يٰۤـاَيُّهَا الَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡۤا اَطِيۡـعُوا اللّٰهَ وَاَطِيۡـعُوا الرَّسُوۡلَ وَاُولِى الۡاَمۡرِ مِنۡكُمۡۚ فَاِنۡ تَنَازَعۡتُمۡ فِىۡ شَىۡءٍ فَرُدُّوۡهُ اِلَى اللّٰهِ وَالرَّسُوۡلِ اِنۡ كُنۡـتُمۡ تُؤۡمِنُوۡنَ بِاللّٰهِ وَالۡيَـوۡمِ الۡاٰخِرِ ؕ ذٰ لِكَ خَيۡرٌ وَّاَحۡسَنُ تَاۡوِيۡلًا
Yaa auy-ha ul-la-ze na aa-ma-noo Aa-tee-oo ol-laa-ha wa aa-tee-oor ra-soo-la Wa o-lay il-aum-ray min koom Fa in ta-naa-zau toom fee shai-in Fa rood-doo ho aiy-la ul-laa-hay wa ur-ra-soo-lay In koon-toom toe-may-noo-na Bay il-laa-hay wa ul-yao-may il-aa-khay-ray Zaa-lay-ka khai-roon wa auh-sa-no tau-vee-laa
Listen, you all who have believed! You all obey Allah and you all obey the Messenger And the among you with the authority to Order.
Then if you have a dispute in any matter, Then turn it over to Allah and the Messenger If (since the past) you have been believing In Allah and the Coming Day This is excellent and best in explanation.
The Holy Qor-aan has used the Phrase Yaa-auy-yo-hul-la-zee-na-aa-ma-noo many times
- يٰۤ — Yaa — Listen (= Be attentive; hearken; pay attention; O!)
- اَيُّهَا — Auy-yo-ha … (ul) — You all (= All addressees; entire audience; whole lot of listeners)
- ٱلَّذِينَ — Aul-la-zee-na — Those who (= pl., m, 3rd person. Those articles, things or persons
- اٰمَنُوۡۤ — Aa-ma-noo — They Believed (= v., past., pl., 3rd person. Believed in the Holy Qor-aan; became Moslems. Accepted, acknowledged, admitted or witnessed their entry in Iss-laam. - اَطِيۡعُوا — Aa-tee-oo … (l) — You all obey (= v., pres., pl., 2nd person. Carry out directions; follow. Relative to Allah, the word implies implementing His Commandments and Prohibitions. See Commentary The Obedience)
- ٱللَّهَ — Laa-ha — Allah (= The One and the Only One Almighty God)
- وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; but; also; instead; more over; rather; though; when; yet; whereupon; while)
- اَطِيۡعُوا — Aa-tee-oo … (r) — You all obey (= v., pres., pl., 2nd person. Carry out directions; follow. Relative to man, the word means to copy, duplicate, emulate and match the deeds as well as to follow the directions of someone. See اَطِيۡعُوا above)
- الرَّسُوۡلَ — Ra-soo-la — The Messenger (= n., s., Apostle; prophet; sage; saint. The ال before the word رَّسُوۡلَ particularizes it to invariably mean the Holy Prophet Mohammad, pace and blessings on him)
- وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ above)
- اُولِى — O-lay …. (il) — With / Of (= n., Endowed with; masters; owners; possessors; who have. A/t/a, ‘those charged With authority,’ ‘those with authority,’ ‘those entrusted with authority over you,’ ‘those in authority’ and ‘who are in authority’)
- الۡاَمۡرِ — Um-ray — The Order (= n., s.,1. Authority; command; control; decision; decree; direction; instruction; judgment; responsibility; rule. 2. Affair; issue; matter; situation. See Note 002:211)
- مِنۡ — Min — Among (= Among, from or out of the class or category of several articles, counts, kind, things, persons or phenomenon)
- كُمۡ — Koom — You (= pro., pl., m., 2nd person. You all. A/t/a, ‘you (Muslims)’
- فَ — Fa — Then (= Hence; so; then; after all this; at the end; in conclusion; finally; resultantly; thereafter; therefore; thus)
- اِنۡ — In — If (= In case; under the circumstances; when; when situation arises; whenever)
- تَنَازَعۡ — Ta-naa-zau — Disputed (= v., past., s., 2nd person. Claimed; clashed; contended; contested; debated; differed; disagreed; quarreled; rowed; wrangled. Had developed among you an argument, challenge, doubt, query or question. A/t/a, ‘there arises any dispute,’ ‘ye have a dispute,’ ‘you differ,’ ‘ye differ’ and ‘you quarrel’ but translating this verb in the present tense is not accurate when the Holy Qor-aan has used it in the past tense)
- تُمُ — Toom — You (= pro., pl., m., 2nd person. You)
- فِىۡ — Fee — In (= Amidst, among, contained or inside a place, period or phenomenon. Also, about, concerning, in reference, regarding relative to. See Note at 002:028)
- شَىۡءٍ — Shai-in — Anything (= Something however little or insignificant. A whit. Not the least. Smallest part of an article, item, object, material, thing, matter, type, phenomenon or stuff. To the least extent. Also, Some, something or somewhat. A/t/a, ‘any matter’ and ‘in anything’)
- فَ — Fa — Then (= Hence; so; thereafter; therefore; thus. See فَ above)
- رُ دُّ وۡ — Rood-doo — Turn over (= v., pres., pl., 3rd person. Entrust; surrender. A/t/a, ‘refer’)
- هُ — Ho — It (= pro., s., m., 3rd person. Refers to the aforesaid dispute)
- اِلَى — Aiy-lul — To (= In the direction of; to; towards. A/t/a, (and judge according to their teachings)’
- اللّٰهِ — Laa-hay — Allah (= The One and the Only One Almighty God)
- وَ — Wa … (ur) — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ above)
- الرَّسُوۡلِ — Ra-soo-lay — The Prophet (= n., s., Apostle; God’s messenger; great prophet; sage; saint. A/t/a, ‘His Messenger’ and ‘His Messenger (s.a.w)’ )
- اِنۡ — In — If (= If; in case; under the circumstances; when situation arises; whenever. A/t/a, ‘indeed’)
- كُنۡتُمۡ — Koon-toom — You have been (= Since the past were and have been continuously)
- تُؤۡمِنُوۡنَ — Toe-may-noo-na — Believing (= v., pres., pl., 2nd person. Enter faith; follow the Holy Qor-aan, Iss-laam and are Moslems. A/t/a, ‘ye believe,’ ‘ye are (in truth) believers,’ ‘you are believers’ and ‘truly believe’)
- بِ — Bay … (il) — With (= Literally the word بِ means with.
- اللّٰهِ — Laa-hay — Allah (= The One and the Only One Almighty God)
- وَ — Wa … (ul) — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ above)
- الۡيَوۡمِ — Yao-m … (il) — The Day (= n., s., Juncture; period, term or time)
- الۡاٰخِرِ — Aa-khay-ray — Coming (= End; last; later; yet to come. Since the word الۡيَوۡم means ‘day’ and الۡاٰخِرِ means ‘Hereafter’, ‘yet to come’, joined together the phrase الۡيَوۡمِ الۡاٰخِرِ means The End Day. The Judgment Day; To-Come-Later-On. The Resurrection. A/t/a, ‘the Last Day’)
- ذٰلِكَ — Zaa-lay-ka — This (= Here; refers to an aforesaid fact, person or statement; it was because; right here; such is this; that is how it is. A/t/a, ‘That is (in your) best (interest)’
- خَيۡرُ — Khai-roon — Excellent (= Absolutely the tops; at apex; best; greatest; highest; supreme; superior most; the top. Comparatively better, superior or of greater, higher or more value. A/t/a, ‘best’ and ‘better’)
- وَّ — Wa — And (= Conj., It links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ above)
- اَحۡسَنُ — Ah-sa-no — Best (= adj., Fairer; kinder; lovelier; nicer; prettier; worthier for appreciation. A/t/a ‘best,’ ‘more seemly,’ ‘most commendable,’ ‘more just,’ ‘fairer’ and ‘more suitable’)
- تَاۡوِيۡلًا — Tau-vee-laa — Explanation (= In consequences, extensions, elaborations, follow ups; interpretations, results. See Note 003:008 for more meanings. A/t/a, ‘final determination,’ ‘more suitable to (achieve) the end,’ ‘in the end,’ ‘in the long run’ and ‘final determination’)
