اَلَمۡ تَرَ اِلَى الَّذِيۡنَ يَزۡعُمُوۡنَ اَنَّهُمۡ اٰمَنُوۡا بِمَاۤ اُنۡزِلَ اِلَيۡكَ وَمَاۤ اُنۡزِلَ مِنۡ قَبۡلِكَ   يُرِيۡدُوۡنَ اَنۡ يَّتَحَاكَمُوۡۤا اِلَى الطَّاغُوۡتِ وَقَدۡ اُمِرُوۡۤا اَنۡ يَّكۡفُرُوۡا بِهٖ ؕ  وَيُرِيۡدُ الشَّيۡـطٰنُ اَنۡ يُّضِلَّهُمۡ ضَلٰلًاۢ بَعِيۡدًا‏

 

Aa-lum-ta-ra-aiy-lul-la-zee-na-yuz-o-moo-na-un-na-hoom-aa-ma-noo                                  Bay-maa-oon-zay-la-elai-ka-wa-maa-oon-zay-la-min-qub-lay-ka                                          Yo-re-do-na-un-ya-ta-haa-ka-moo-elut-taa-ghoo-tay                                                                Wa-qud-o-may-roo-un-yuk-fo-roo-bay-he                                                                                      Wa-yo-re-doosh-shai-ta-no-un-yo-dzil-la-hoom-dza-laa-lun-ba-ee-daa

 

Why don’t you look at those who make out that they surely believed                    In all that was entrusted to you and all that was entrusted before you?                They seek that they refer the decision-making to the Devil                                      And they were ordered that they reject him.                                                              And the Satan intends to mislead them — leading astray far away.

  • لَمۡ — Lum — Don’t (= Absolutely never; no, not at all)
  • تَرَ — Ta-ra — You look (= v., pres., pl., 2nd person. Look; observe; ponder; view;   watch; witness. See Note 002:244a. , ‘thou … turned thy vision,’ ‘Hast thou … seen,’ ‘Dost thou not know’ and ‘Knowest thou not’)
  • اِلٰٓى — Aiy-la … (ul)  At (= In the direction of; to; towards. In some situations, this   word can also mean for, till or until. A/t/a, ‘the case of’)
  • ٱلَّذِينَ — Ul-la-zee-na — Those who (= pl., m, 3rd person. Refers to those in masculine gender that include all articles, things, persons or phenomenon. A/t/a, ‘those (hypocrites)’)
  • يَزۡعُمُوۡنَ — Yuz-o-moo-na — Make out (= v., pres., pl., 3rd person. Assert; affirm; claim;     declare; pretend; proclaim; profess; pronounce)
  • اَ نَّ — Un-na — Surely (= Absolutely; certainly; definitely; positively; verily)
  • هُمۡ‌ — Hoom — They (= pro., pl., m., 3 rd person. They; them; theirs)
  • اٰمَنُوۡا — Aa-ma-noo — They believed (= v., past., pl., 3rd person. Believed in the Holy  Qor-aan, became Moslems and entered in the Faith of Isslaam — See Commentaries Islam – 101 and Believe and Disbelieve. A/t/a, ‘they believe’ by several authors but that in the present tense is not what the Holy Qor-aan has stated as a verb in the past tense)

   The construction in next eleven (11) words is in 002:005, 004:061 and 004:163

  • بِ — Bay — In (= Literally the word  بِ  means with but the context here warrants to substitute it with an in)
  • مَاۤ — Maa — All that (= What; whatever; whatsoever. A/t/a, ‘In the revelations’)
  • اُنۡزِلَ — Oon-zay-la — Entrusted  **  (= v., past., pass., s, 3rd person. Dispatched, given, granted, inspired. Laid, lowered, revealed or sent down. Also, delivered; handed; landed; provided; released; supplied. A/t/a, ‘have come.’  ** See Note 002:005a)
  • اِلَيۡ — E-lai — To (= In the direction of; towards. A/t/a, ‘unto’)
  • كَ — Ka — You (= You, a single male; your; yours. The Initial addressee: the Holy Prophet s.a.w. The secondary recipients of the message are all human beings. A/t/a, ‘thee’)
  • وَ –Wa — And (= Conj., Connects words, phrases or clauses; also; but; additionally; though; when; while; yet; whereupon)
  • مَاۤ — Maa — All that (= What; whatever; whatsoever. Any time; whenever)
  • اُنۡزِلَ — Oon-zay-la — Entrusted  **  (= v., past., pass., s, 3rd person. Dispatched, given, granted, inspired, revealed or sent down. ** See   اُنۡزِلَ  above)
  • مِنۡ — Min — From (= Among, from or out of the class, category, count, kind or several persons or things)
  • قَبۡلِ — Qub-lay — Before (= Earlier or prior apostles, prophets, sages and saints)
  • كَ — Ka — You (= You, a single male; our or Yours. See   كَ  above)
  • يُرِيۡدُوۡنَ — Yo-re-do-na — They seek (= v., pres., 3rd person. Men with a distinct possibility to never reach their planned goal, the accurate translation of this word is aim, aspire, choose, conform, covet,  crave, desire, go after, hanker, like, long, plan, pursue,  scheme, seek, wish, want or yearn. See Note 002:186. A/t/a, ‘how they would go,’ ‘They desire,’ ‘on the contrary they desire’ and ‘they wish’)
  • اَنۡ — Un — Surely (= Absolutely; certainly; definitely; positively; verily)
  • يَّتَحَاكَمُوۡۤا  — Ya-ta-haa-ka-moo — Refer the decision-making (= v., pres., pl., 3rd person. Aspire, desire, go after, implore, like, long, plan, pursue, scheme, seek, try, want or wish for adjudication, decision-making, fair resolution or judgment. A/t/a, ‘To resort together for judgment (In their disputes),’ ‘seek judgment,’ ‘seek the judgment,’ ‘go for judgment (in their disputes),’ ‘turn for judgment between them’ and ‘refer (their disputes) for judgment’)
  • اِلَى — E-la…(ut) — To (= In the direction of; to; towards)
  • لطَّاغُوۡتِ — Taa-ghoo-tay — The devil (= n., Bad or evil leader or person; idol; idol-worshipers; Satan. A/t/a ‘The Evil One,’ ‘the devil,’ ‘the rebellious,’ ‘transgressor,’ ‘Taghut (false judges),’ ‘deities’ and ‘false gods’)
  • وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ  above)
  • قَدۡ — Qud — Surely (= This word lays emphasis by repeating the meanings of the above word. A/t/a, ‘though,’ ‘although’ and ‘have been’)
  • اُمِرُوۡۤا — O-may-roo — Were ordered  (= v., past., pass., pl., 3rd person. Bidden; commanded; directed; enjoined; exhorted. A/t/a, ‘are bidden’ in the present tense is not what the Holy Qor-aan has stated in the past tense)
  • اَنۡ — Un — That (= So that)
  • يَّكۡفُرُوۡا — Yauk-fo-roo — They reject (= v., pres., pl., 3rd person. Disbelieve; deny; disclaim; disown; refuse. A/t/a, ‘to abjure,’ ‘to reject,’ ‘to disbelieve’ and ‘not to obey’ but such translation is not what the Holy Qor-aan has stated as a verb in the present tense)
  • بِ — Bay — With (= Literally the word بِ  means with)
  • هٖ — He — Him (= pro., s., m., 3rd person. He or his. Refers to the Satan. A/t/a, ‘them’)
  • وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ  above)
  • يُرِيۡدُ — Yo-re-doosh — He intends (= v., pres., s., 3rd person. Satan or devil with the perpetual pursuit to harm man by misleading him into disobeying his Creator, the best translation is with words such as aim, aspire, determined, intend, pursue and shoot for.  See Note 002:186. A/t/a ‘wish,’ ‘desires,’ ‘would’ and ‘wishes’)
  • الشَّيۡـطٰنُ – Shai-taa-no — The Satan (= n., s., A bad, evil or false deity, friend, leader or Satanic companion. The devil. The Evil Embodiment. The evil One. The evil spirited person. The evil personified. Polytheist. Rebellious ringleader. Also, a hypocrite)
  • اَنۡ — Un — Surely (= Absolutely; certainly; definitely; positively; verily)
  • يُّضِلّ — Yo-dzil-la — Mislead (= v., pres., pl., 3rd person. Put on improper path or wrong  road. A/t/a, ‘lead’ and ‘mislead’)
  • هُمۡ‌ — Hoom — They (= pro., pl., m., 3 rd person. Them; their)
  • ضَلٰلًاۢ — Dza-laa-lun — Leading astray (= n. Improper path; inappropriate direction; wrong road. A/t/a, ‘astray’ and ‘straying’)
  • بَعِيۡدًا‏ — Ba-ee-daa — Far away (= Distant; very far. A/t/a, ‘Far away (from the Right),’  ‘far into error,’ ‘far astray,’ ‘grievously’ and ‘far off ‘)
