The Holy Qor-aan 004:062
وَاِذَا قِيۡلَ لَهُمۡ تَعَالَوۡا اِلٰى مَاۤ اَنۡزَلَ اللّٰهُ وَاِلَى الرَّسُوۡلِ رَاَيۡتَ الۡمُنٰفِقِيۡنَ يَصُدُّوۡنَ عَنۡكَ صُدُوۡدًا ۚ
Wa-ezaa-qee-la-la-hoom-ta-aa-lao-elaa Maa-un-za-laul-laa-ho-wa-elur-ra-soo-lay Ra-aye-tul-mo-naa-fay-qee-na Ya-sood-do-na-un-ka-so-do-daa
And when said to them, “Come to What Allah has sent down and to the Messenger,” You saw the hypocrites Turn away from you a total turning
- وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; but; also; more over; though; when; while; yet; whereupon)
- اِذَاۤ — Ezaa — When (= Any time or event; behold; call to mind, consider; recall, ponder over; reflect; remember or think of the time, event, now that; occasion, opportunity; take into consideration; whenever)
- قِيۡلَ — Qee-la — Was said (= v., past., pass, s, 3rd person. Affirmed, announced, confirmed, declared, spoken, stated. told. A/t/a, ‘is said’ [several authors] but translating that as a verb in the present tense is contrary to what the Holy Qor-aan has stated as a verb in the past tense)
- لَ — La — To (= Concerning; due to; for the object, purpose or reason of; intended for; on account of; regarding; relative to. A/t/a, belonging to; to; towards)
- هُمۡ — Hoom — Their (= pro., pl., m., 3 rd person. Refers to aforesaid people)
- تَعَالَوۡا — Ta-aa-lao — Come (= v., pres., pl, 2nd person. Come forward; join in. A/t/a, ‘Come,’ ‘come to (follow),’ ‘come ye’ and ‘come to be judged’)
- اِلَى — Elaa — To (= In the direction of; to; towards. A/t/a, ‘unto’ and ‘with’)
- مَاۤ — Maa — All that (= What; whatever; whatsoever)
- اَنۡزَلَ — Un-za-la…(ul) — He sent down (= v., past., pass., Ref is to the Almighty God that He …. delivered, descended, dispatched, entrusted, furnished; gave; handed down, landed, lowered down, provided, revealed or supplied)
- اللّٰهُ — Laa-ho — Allah (= The One and the Only One Almighty God)
- وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ above)
- اِلَى — Ela…(ur) — To (= In the direction of; to; towards)
- الرَّسُوۡلِ — Ra-soo-lay — The Messenger (= s., Apostle; God’s messenger; great prophet; sage; saint. A/t/a, ‘the perfect Messenger’)
- رَأَيۡتَ — Ra-aye-ta…(ul) — You saw (= v., past., s., 2nd person. Considered; knew; noticed; observed; realized; thought of; witnessed. A/t/a, ‘you can see’ and ‘Thou seest’ [several authors] but that translation as a verb in the present tense is not of what the Holy Qor-aan has stated with a verb in the present tense)
- الۡمُنٰفِقِيۡنَ — Mo-naa-fay-qee-na — Hypocrites (= n., pl., Two-faced persons who say or state something but do something different)
- يَصُدُّوۡنَ — Ya-sood-do-na — Turn away (= v., pres., pl, 3rd person. Avert; bar; hinder; obstruct; stop. A/t/a, ‘turn’)
- عَنۡ — Un — From (= About; concerning; regarding; relative to)
- كَ — Ka — You (= pro., s., m., 2nd person. You single male. The addressee of this divine message is initially the Holy Prophet s.a.w and secondarily every Moslem, in fact every human being. See the Note 002:005)
- صُدُوۡدًا — So-do-daa — A total turning (= Adv., Actively, aversely; badly, really or totally bar, obstruct, turn around. A/t/a, ‘in disgust,’ ‘with aversion,’ ‘completely away,’ ‘with all their effort’ and ‘a deaf ear’)
