The Holy Qor-aan                                                                                                             004:065

 

وَمَاۤ اَرۡسَلۡنَا مِنۡ رَّسُوۡلٍ اِلَّا لِـيُـطَاعَ بِاِذۡنِ اللّٰهِ ‌ؕ وَلَوۡ اَنَّهُمۡ اِذْ ظَّلَمُوۡۤا اَنۡفُسَهُمۡ جَآءُوۡكَ فَاسۡتَغۡفَرُوا اللّٰهَ وَاسۡتَغۡفَرَ لَـهُمُ الرَّسُوۡلُ لَوَجَدُوا اللّٰهَ تَوَّابًا رَّحِيۡمًا‏

 

Wa  maa  aur-saul-naa  min  ra-soo-lin
Il-laa  lay  yo-taa-aa  bay  iz-nay  il-laa-hay
Wa  lao  un-na  hoom  iz  za-la-moo  aun-fo-sa  hoom  jaa-oo  ka
Faus-taugh-fa-roo  l-laa-ha  wa  us-taugh-fa-ra  la  ho-mo  or-ra-soo-lo
La  wa-ja-doo  l-laa-ha  tauw-waa-ba  ur-ra-he-maa

           

And We never sent any of messengers
Except for being followed with Allah’s Master Plan.
And if when they wronged themselves surely came to you
And then sought forgiveness of Allah
And the Messenger sought forgiveness for them
They surely would have found Allah Most Forgiving, Most Merciful.

 

  • وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., It links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; but;  also; more over; though; when; while; yet; whereupon)
  • مَاۤ — Maa — Never (= Absolutely no; never; no; not)
  • اَرۡسَلۡنَا — Aur-saul-naa — We sent (= v., past., pl., 1st person. Appointed; dispatched; set up; deputed; empowered with the authority; raised; set up. The past tense verb for single 3rd person is converted into that of plural 1st person as explained in Note 001:007. A/t/a, ‘sent forth’)
  • مِنۡ — Min … (ra) — Among (= Among, from or out of the class or category of several articles, counts, kind, things, persons or phenomenon)
  • رَّسُوۡلٍ — Ra-soo-lin — Messenger (= s., Apostles; God’s messengers; prophets; sages; saints)
  • اِلَّا — Il-laa — Except (= Apart from; but; besides; excluding; save; unless. A/t/a, ‘but that’)
  • لِ — Lay — For (= For the object, purpose or reason of; intended for; on account of; regarding; relative to. Also, to)
  • يُـطَاعَ — Yo-taa-aa — Be followed (= v., pres., pass., s., 3rd person. Do as bid; obeyed. A/t/a, ‘should be obeyed’ and ‘men should do their bidding’)
  • بِ — Bay — With (= Literally the word بِ  means with. As per; pursuant to. A/t/a, ‘by’ and ‘in accordance with’)
  • اِذۡنِ — Iz-nay … (il) — Master Plan (= n., Allowance; approval; command; decree; decision; design; dictate; direction; grace; grant; leave; order; permission; plan; scheme of things; Will)
  • اللّٰهِ — Laa-hay — Allah (= The One and the Only One Almighty God)
  • وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., It links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ  above)
  • لَوۡ — Lao — If (= In case; under the circumstances; wish; would)
  • اَ نَّ — Aun-na — Surely (= Absolutely; certainly; definitely; positively; verily)
  • هُمۡ‌ — Hoom — They (= pro., pl., m., 3 rd person. Them; their; theirs)
  • اِذْ — Iz — When (= Any time or event. Behold, call to mind, recall, ponder, reflect; remember or think of the time, event, occasion, opportunity; whenever)
  • ظَلَمُوۡا — Zaa-la-moo — Wronged (= v., past., pl., 3rd person. Acted badly. Behaved wickedly. Caused evil. Committed crimes or cruelty. Did injustice. Harmed. Maltreated. Shortened. Transgressed. Treated improperly or unjustly. Violated rights of others. A/t/a, ‘they were unjust’ and ‘they had acted contrary to their own interests’)
  • اَنۡفُسَ — Aun-fo-sa — Selves (= n., pl., Hearts; individuals; minds; own sake; persons; souls. Also, brethren; countrymen; followers; folks, kinsman; nation; people; tribes. A/t/a, ‘souls’)
  • هُمۡ‌ — Hoom — Them (= pro., pl., m., 3 rd person. Them; their; theirs)
  • جَآءُو — Jaa-oo — Came (= v., past., pl., 3rd person. Arrived; reached; returned. Also, the word can mean achieved, brought, delivered, settled, sought or succeeded)
  • كَ — Ka — You (= pro., s., m., 2nd person. You single male. The addressee of this divine message is initially the Holy Prophet s.a.w and secondarily every Moslem, in fact every human being. See the Note under 002:005)
  • فَ — Fa … (us) — And Then (= Consequently, finally, hence, in conclusion, resultantly so, thereafter, therefore or thus)
  • اسۡتَغۡفَرُوا — Aus-taugh-fa-roo — Sought forgiveness (= v., past., pl., 3rd person. Asked, begged, desired, prayed for, pursued, requested, sought or tried for forgiveness, repentance or being excused. A/t/a, ‘asked forgiveness,’ ‘prayed for forgiveness,’ ‘sought the protection of’ and ‘imploring pardon’)
  • ٱللَّهَ — Laa-ha — Allah (= The One and the Only One Almighty God)
  • وَ — Wa … (us) — And (= Conj., It links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ  above)
  • اسۡتَغۡفَرَ — Aus-taugh-fa-ra — Sought forgiveness (= v., past., s., 3rd person. Asked, begged, desired. See اسۡتَغۡفَرُوا above. A/t/a, ‘had (also) asked forgiveness,’ also had asked forgiveness’ and ‘(also) sought protection).’ But ‘asked forgiveness of the messenger’ is not a  translation of the of the Holy Qor-aan)
  • لَ — La — For (= For the object, purpose or reason of; intended for; on account of; regarding; relative to; to)
  • هُمُ — Ho-mo … (ra) — Them (= pro., pl., m., 3 rd person. Refers to aforesaid people)
  • الرَّسُوۡلُ — Ra-soo-lo — The Messenger (= n., s., Apostle; God’s messenger; prophet. A/t/a, ‘this perfect Messenger’)
  • لَ — La — Surely (= Absolutely; assuredly; categorically; certainly; definitely;                      doubtlessly; earnestly; indeed; positively; really; truly; seriously; sincerely; specifically; verily)
  • وَجَدُوا — Wa-ja-doo — They found (= v., past., pl., 3rd person. Came upon; discovered,  noticed; found, realized; saw.  A/t/a, ‘they would have surely found’)
  • ٱللَّهَ — Laa-ha — Allah (= The One and the Only One Almighty God)
  • تَوَّابًا — Tauw-waa-ba … (ur) — Most Forgiving (= n., Superlative form indicates the greatest, the highest, the most, and no other more than Him is, ready to turn with compassion and mercy to accept regret, regret and repentance. Extremely Forgiving to man who admits his fault, guilt and sin. Oft Returning. Returning with compassion. The Ever Pardoning. The Relenting. Grantor of repentance. See 001:001 and Note 002:038. A/t/a, ‘Oft-Returning (to mercy)’ and ‘Oft-Returning with compassion’)
  • رَّحِيۡمًا — Ra-he-maa — Most Merciful (= superlative form indicates the greatest, the highest and highlights that none more than Him shows mercy again and again, continually, incessantly and indefinitely like the endless and perpetually incoming waves from oceans. Merciful Forever. See 001:001)
