The Holy Qor-aan 004:100
فَاُولٰٓٮِٕكَ عَسَى اللّٰهُ اَنۡ يَّعۡفُوَ عَنۡهُم ۡؕ وَكَانَ اللّٰهُ عَفُوًّا غَفُوۡرًا
Fa-o-laa-aiy-ka-aa-sul-laa-ho-un-yau-foo-un-hoom Wa-kaa-nul-laa-ho-aa-foos-waa-gha-foo-raa
So it is these that Allah may excuse them. And Allah has always been Highly Excusing, Very Forgiving
- فَ — Fa — So (= Consequently; finally; hence; in conclusion; thus)
- اُولٰٓٮِٕكَ — O-laa-aiy-ka — It is these (= Acts, facts, items, persons or things; It is these. A/t/a, ‘For these,’ ‘As for such,’ ‘In their case’ and ‘As to these’)
- عَسٰۤى — Aa-saa — May (= Could be; may be; perchance; peradventure; possibly; quite close. A/t/a, ‘there is hope,’ ‘may be,’ ‘may,’ ‘would be inclined towards’ and ‘likely to’)
- اللّٰهُ — Laa-ho — Allah (= The One and the Only One Almighty God)
- اَنۡ — Un — That (= So that)
- يَّعۡفُوَ — Yau-fo-wa — He Excuses (= v., pres., s., 3rd person. Forgives; pardons. A/t/a, ‘will pardon,’ and ‘will efface … sins.’ However, ‘forgiveness’ as a noun is not an accurate translation of what the Holy Qor-aan has stated as a verb)
- عَنۡ — Un — From (= About; concerning; regarding; relative to)
- هُمۡ — Hoom — They (= pro., pl., m., 3 rd person. Those, them, they men; their)
- وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; but; also; more over; though; when; while; yet)
- كَانَ — Kaa-na — It had been (= v., past., s., m., 3rd person., Continued doing; had been; used to; were, went on doing. Indicates the continuity from the past to the present and leading into the future. The phrase had always been states an endless continuation)
- اللّٰهُ — Laa-ho — Allah (= The One and the Only One Almighty God)
- عَفُواۡ — Aa-foo-won — Most Excusing (= n., Absolving; Effacer; Eraser; Forgiving; Pardoning. Overlooking errors. A/t/a, ‘ever Clement,’ ‘ever Pardoning,’ ‘Ever Oft-Pardoning,’ ‘All-Pardoning,’ ‘Benignant’ and ‘Effacer of sins.’ However, ‘blots out sins’ and ‘overlooks shortcomings’ as verbs are not accurate translations of what the Holy Qor-aan has stated a noun)
- غَفُوۡرًا — Gha-foo-raa — Very Forgiving (= superlative form indicates the greatest, the highest, the most, and highlights that none more than Him is Who excuses, overlooks and pardons. All Forgiving. Oft-Forgiving. The One Who protects against crimes, errors, faults, sins and wrongs. A/t/a, ‘And forgive again and again,’ ‘Oft-Forgiving,’ ‘Most Forgiving’ and ‘All-Forgiving’)
