The Holy Qor-aan 004:120
وَّلَاُضِلَّـنَّهُمۡ وَلَاُمَنِّيَنَّهُمۡ وَلَاٰمُرَنَّهُمۡ فَلَيُبَـتِّكُنَّ اٰذَانَ الۡاَنۡعَامِ وَلَاٰمُرَنَّهُمۡ فَلَيُغَيِّرُنَّ خَلۡقَ اللّٰهِ ؕ وَمَنۡ يَّتَّخِذِ الشَّيۡطٰنَ وَلِيًّا مِّنۡ دُوۡنِ اللّٰهِ فَقَدۡ خَسِرَ خُسۡرَانًا مُّبِيۡنًا ؕ
Wa la o-dzil-lun-na hoom wa la o-mun-nay-yun-na hoom Wa la aa-mo-run-na hoom fa la yo-but-tay-koon-na aa-zaa-na ul-un-aa-may Wa la-aa-mo-run-na hoom fa la yo-ghuy-yay-roon-na khaul-qa ul-laa-hay Wa mun yaut-ta-khay-zay ish-shai-taa-na wa-lee-yun M in do-nay il-laa-hay fa qud kha-say-ra khoos-raa-naun mo-be-naa
(The Satan continuing his ranting said:) And I certainly will mislead them, and I certainly will arouse them, And I certainly will commend them so that they will cut the cattle’s ears And I certainly will commend them so that they will modify Allah’s creation. And whoever takes the Satan as the true friend Other than Allah, then indeed he has lost an obviously big loss.

- اُمَنِّيَنَّ — O-mun-nay-yun-na — I’ll arouse (= v., pres., s., 1st person. Arouse; entice; multiply urges. Create, develop and grow bad desires, egoistic pursuits and mean wants. A/t/a, ‘create in … false desires,’ ‘create vain desires in,’ ‘excite in … vain desires,’ ‘arouse desires,’ ‘arouse … vain desires’ and ‘arouse false desires’)

- يُبَـتِّكُنَّ — Yo-but-tay-koon-na — Cut (= v., pres., s., 1st person. Cut; sever; slice. A/t/a, ”slit,’ ‘slit … (as a mark of their dedication to their to their deities),’ ‘slit … (an ancient superstition)’ and ‘cut’)
- اٰذَانَ — Aa-zaa-na … (ul) — Ears (= n., The body part through which one hears audio sound

- يُغَيِّرُنَّ — Yo-ghuy-yay-run-na — Alter ** (= v., pres., s., 1st person. Change; modify. A/t/a, ‘alter,’ ‘change,’ ‘change (for the worse),’ ‘tamper with,’ ‘deface’ and ‘deface (changing what God has naturally created in human and animal bodies’)
- خَلۡقَ — Khaul-qa … (ul) — Creatures (= n., Creation; creatures. A/t/a, ‘The (fair) nature created,’ ‘the things created by’ and ‘the nature created’)
- اللّٰهِ — Laa-hay — Allah (= The One and the Only One Almighty God)
- وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ above)
- مَنۡ — Mun — Who (= Anyone; whoever; whom; whomever; whoso)
- يَّتَّخِذِ — Yaut-ta-khay-zay … (ish) — He takes (= v., pres., s., 3rd person., Adopts; catches; holds down; owns; seizes; sets; takes. A/t/a, ‘chooseth’ and ‘chooses’)
- الشَّيۡطٰنَ — Shai-taa-na — The Satan (= n., s., A bad, evil or false deity, friend, leader or Satanic companion. The devil The Evil Embodiment. The evil One. An evil spirited person. Evil personified. Polytheist. Rebellious ringleader)
- وَلِيًّ۬ا — Wa-lee-yun — True friend (= n., s., Best, genuine, real, sincere, total and true … aide, assistant, friend, guardian, helper, patron, protector, supporter or well-wisher. Anyone there to heed when called in need. A/t/a, ‘who will protect,’ ‘some protecting friend’ and ‘Wali (protector or helper)’
- مِّنۡ — Min — From (= Among, from or out of the class or category of several
- دُوۡنِ — Doo-nay … (il) — Other than (= Apart from; beside; except; excluding; exclusive of; in preference to; over and beyond; save; to the exclusion of the rest of. A/t/a, ‘Forsaking,’ ‘instead of’ and ‘rather than’)
- اللّٰهِ — Laa-hay — Allah (= The One and the Only One Almighty God)
- فَ — Fa — Then (= Consequently; so; thereafter; therefore. See فَ above)
- قَدۡ — Qud — Indeed (= This word lays emphasis like very definitely; surely. See Note 004:049 and our Commentary ‘2 Words of Emphasis used together Multiply Effect‘. A/t/a, ‘has of course)
- خَسِرَ — Kha-say-ra — Lost (= v., past., s., 3rd person. Caused loss or harm; destroyed; failed; gone; harmed in big way; suffered loss; wasted. A/t/a, ‘suffered.’ But ‘is a loser’ which is a noun, and ‘suffers’ and ‘ruins himself’ which are verbs in the present tense, are no translations of what the Holy Qor-aan has used as a verb in the past tense)
- خُسۡرَانًا — Khoos-raa-nun Loss (= n., s., Disadvantage; loss)
- مُّبِيۡنًا — Mo-bee-na — Obvious (= adj., Apparent; clear; evident; flagrant; glaring; gross; lucid; manifest; obvious; open; palpable; patent, unambiguous; unmistakable. A situation that is avowed, cleared, declared, marked or sworn to be without any blemish, hindrance or obstruction which could cloud or fog the view. Also as an adv: clearly; evidently; grossly; manifestly; obviously; openly. A/t/a, ‘hath of surety’ and ‘beyond redemption’)
** Note 004:120. The meanings of the phrase يُغَيِّرُنَّ خَلۡقَ اللّٰهِ (= alter the creation of Allah) obviously include the crossbreeding of animal life, grafting of plant life and modification of the seeds done by the big pharmaceutical industry.
However, Malik Ghulam Farid stated as follows in his Note 673:
- Defying God’s creation
- Changing and corrupting the religion of God
- Deforming or disfiguring the body of a new-born child
- Turning to evil use that which Allah has created for good use
