The Holy Qor-aan 004:123
وَالَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا وَعَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ سَنُدۡخِلُهُمۡ جَنّٰتٍ تَجۡرِىۡ مِنۡ تَحۡتِهَا الۡاَنۡهٰرُ خٰلِدِيۡنَ فِيۡهَاۤ اَبَدًا ؕ وَعۡدَ اللّٰهِ حَقًّا ؕ وَمَنۡ اَصۡدَقُ مِنَ اللّٰهِ قِيۡلًا
Wul-la-zee-na-aa-ma-noo-wa-amay-loos-suaa-lay-haa-tay Sa-nood-khay-lo-hoom-jun-naa-tin-tuj-re-min Tah-tay-hul-un-haa-ro Khaa-lay-dee-na-fee-haa-aba-daa Wau-dul-laa-hay-huq-qun Wa-mun-us-da-qo-may-nul-laa-hay-qee-laa
And those who believed and did good deeds Soon We will enter them in the Paradise Flowing underneath it will be the streams of water They living in it forever Allah has promised them the Truth And who can be truer in word than Allah?
The first nineteen (19) words of both verses 004:058 and 004:123 are the same
- وَ — Wa…(ul) — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; but; also; more over; though; when; while; yet; whereupon. A/t/a, ‘as far’)
- ٱلَّذِينَ — Ulla-zee-na — Those who (= pl., m, 3rd person. Refers to the believers)
- اٰمَنُوۡۤ — Aa-ma-noo — They Believed (= v., past., pl., 3rd person. Believed in the Holy Qor-aan, became Moslems and entered in the Faith of Isslaam — See the explanation in our Commentary Islam – 101 and Note 002:026c. One author translated the word rightly as ‘believed,’ but many others did that as ‘believe,’ ‘believe (in the Oneness of Allah -Islamic Monotheism)’ or ‘have faith’ as a verb in the present tense although the Holy Qor-aan has stated the fact in the past tense)
- وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ above)
- عَمِلُوا — Amay-loo(s) — Practiced (= v., past., pl., 3rd person. Acted; did; led; made effort; performed; worked; followed proper pursuits, stayed upright or practiced deeds of righteousness. A/t/a ‘do’ but that translated a verb in the present tense when the Holy Qor-aan has stated in the past tense)
- الصّٰلِحٰتِ — Suaa-lay-haa-tay — Proper acts (= n., pl., Appropriate, good, holy, pious, proper, right, righteous, upright, virtuous or worthy acts, actions, deeds, practices, performances or works which are righteous; ‘worked righteousness.’ A/t/a, ‘deeds of righteousness,’ ‘good deeds’ and ‘good works’)
- سَ — Sa — Soon (= The one-lettered word that turns a present tense verb into a verb in the near term or future; in a short while; quickly; swiftly; very closely; without too long a wait. A/t/a, definitely; surely; ‘shall’)
- نُدۡخِلۡ — Nood-khay-lo — We will enter (= v., pres., pl., 1st person. Admit, agree, allow or assent to entry; let; permit. A/t/a, ‘make them enter’)
- هُمۡ — Hoom — Them (= pro., pl., m., 3 rd person. Refers to aforesaid doers of the good)
- جَنّٰتٍ — Jun-naa-tin — Paradise (= pl., Big groves; gardens; orchards. See also our Commentary titled as The Paradise)
- تَجۡرِىۡ — Tuj-ree — Flowing (= v., pres., f. 3rd person. Being irrigated by running water; running irrigation water; sailing water. A/t/a, ‘flow,’ ‘served with running’ and ‘watered by running’)
- مِنۡ — Min — From (= From the class, category, count, kind, person or out of)
- تَحۡتِ — Tah-tay — Underneath (= Below; beneath; on lower level; A/t/a,’through’ or ‘under which’)
- هَا — Haa…(ul) — It (= pro., s., f., 3rd person. Refers to the Paradise)
- الۡاَنۡهٰرُ — Un-haa-ro — Streams (= Bodies of water; rivers; streams)
- خٰلِدِيۡنَ — Khaa-lay-de-na — Living (= n., Those who abide, dwell or reside. Adding the words everlastingly, for ever after, forever, permanently and perpetually are appropriate only for the residents of the Paradise such as those mentioned in verses 002:083, 003:016, 004:014 and 064:010. See the Note 002:040. A/t/a, ‘to dwell,’ ‘to abide,’ ‘abiding’ and ‘they shall abide’ are translations as a verb of what the Holy Qor-aan has stated as a noun)
- فِىۡ — Fee — In (= Inside a duration, time, period, place, phenomenon or thing. Concerning. In reference. Regarding. Relative to. A/t/a, ‘therein’ and ‘wherein’ in various translations.
- هَا — Haa — It (= pro., s., f., 3rd person. Refers to aforesaid Paradise)
- اَبَدًا — Aa-ba-daa — Forever (= Eternally. Everlastingly. Perpetually. A/t/a, ‘eternal home,’ ‘for ever’ and ‘for ever and ever’)
- وَعۡدَ — Wau-da..(ul) — Promise (= n., Announcement; assurance; declaration; guarantee; pledge; word)
- اللّٰهِ — Laa-hay — Allah (= The One and the Only One Almighty God)
- حَقًّا — Huq-qun — Truth (= n., Absolute truth; appropriate; fair just; justification; reality. An event that will come to pass no matter what else happens. A reasonableness that must be obeyed as an order, command or decree. Something proper as well as binding. A/t/a, ‘in truth,’ ‘unfailing,’ ‘which is bound to be filled,’ ‘is the Truth’ and ‘such is the true promise‘)
- وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ above)
- مَنۡ — Mun — Who (= Anyone; whoever; whom; whomever; whose; whoso)
- اَصۡدَقُ — Us-da-qo — Truer (= adj., Fair; more truthful; truer)
- مِنَ — May-na(ul) — From (= Among, from or out of the class or category of several
- اللّٰهِ — Laa-hay — Allah (= The One and the Only One Almighty God)
- قِيۡلًا — Qee-laa — In word (= adj., By or in … announcing, calling, declaring, saying. A/t/a, ‘in words,’ ‘in word,’ ‘in what He says,’ ‘in utterance,’ ‘word’ and ‘words’)
