The Holy Qor-aan                                                                                                         004:135

 

 مَنۡ كَانَ يُرِيۡدُ ثَوَابَ الدُّنۡيَا فَعِنۡدَ اللّٰهِ ثَوَابُ الدُّنۡيَا وَالۡاٰخِرَةِ‌  ؕ وَكَانَ اللّٰهُ سَمِيۡعًاۢ بَصِيۡرًا ‏

 

Mun-kaa-na-yo-ree-do-tha-waa-bud-doon-ya                                                                                Fa-in-dul-laa-hay-tha-waa-bud-doon-ya-wul-aa-khay-ra-tay                                                  Wa-kaa-nul-laa-ho-sa-mee-un-ba-see-raa

 

Whoever has been seeking for reward of this life should know                            Then with Allah is the reward of this life and the Hereafter                                    And Allah has always been All-Hearing, All-Seeing 

 

  • مَنۡ — Mun — Whoever (= Anyone; whoever; whom; whomever; whoso; whosoever; ‘let the man who … know’)
  • كَانَ — Kaa-na — Has been (= v., past., s., m., 3rd person., Continued doing; had been;  used to; were, went on doing. Indicates the continuity from the past to the present and leading into the future. The phrase had always been indicates an endless continuation)
  • يُرِيۡدُ — Yo-ree-do — Seeking (= v., pres., s., 3rd person. Men with a distinct possibility to never reach their planned goal, the accurate translation of this word is aim, aspire, choose, conform, covet,   crave, desire, go after, hanker, like, long, plan, pursue, scheme, seek, wish, want or yearn. See Note 002:186. A/t/a, ‘desires’ and ‘desireth’)
  • ثَوَابَ — Tha-waa-ba..(ud) — Reward (= n., Compensation, consequence, effects, pay back,  recompense, repayment, requital or results. This and the next word combined mean adequate, full, good, materialistic, nice, pleasant, valuable and worldly benefits blessings, happiness, pleasures and other enjoyable things in this near, mortal, present and short-term temporal life on earth)
  • ٱلدُّنۡيا — Doon-yaa — This life (= Close at hand.  Life … on earth, of near or short term.   The near life, of this world. The near one. The World at hand with its benefits, happiness or pleasures. The Hither, the opposite of the Hereafter or Life after death. A/t/a, ‘the world,’ ‘this world’ and ‘this life’)
  • فَ — Fa — Then (= After this; at the end; consequently; finally; hence; in conclusion; so; thereafter; therefore; thus. A/t/a, then let him remember that’ and ‘let him know that’)
  • عِنۡدَ– In-da..(ul) — From (= At; close at hand; from; in; in close proximity of; with. In the counting, esteem; estimate, eyes, front or near. Within the presence, precincts, seeing or sight of. A/t/a, ‘In,’ ‘(let him know that) with,’ ‘with,’ ‘let him remember that with,’ ‘should remember that … with’ and ‘holds’)
  • اللّٰهِ — Laa-hay –Allah (= The One and the Only One Almighty God. A/t/a, ‘Allah (Alone and none else)’
  • ثَوَابُ الدُّنۡيَا — Tha-waa-bud-doon-yaa — Reward of this life (= See ثَوَابُ الدُّنۡيَا above. A/t/a, ‘God’s (gift) is the reward (Both) of this life’ and ‘reward of this worldly life’)
  • وَ — Wa … (ul) — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; but; also; more over; though; when; while; yet)
  • الۡاٰخِرَةِ — Aa-khay-ra-tay — The Hereafter (= Beyond this life. Coming. Future. Judgment Day. Life – after death, ahead, later, next or yet to come later. Resurrection. Something in the far distant future. Succeeding hour. The Ending. The last day. The Last or other world. The time ahead, in future, yet to come. The coming, last, later, next or the other world. Also, Life in the distant, far away, next or world yet to come. A/t/a, ‘the next’)
  • وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ  above)
  • كَانَ — Kaa-na…(ul) — Has been (= v., past., s., m., 3rd person., Continued doing; had been; used to; were, went on doing. Indicates the continuity from the past to the present and leading into the future. The phrase ‘has always been’ indicates an endless continuation. A/t/a, ‘is’)
  • اللّٰهُ — Laa-ho — Allah (= The One and the Only One Almighty God)
  • سَمِيۡعًۢا — Sa-me-un — The Hearer (= superlative form indicates the greatest, the highest, the most, and highlights that none more than Him hears the best. All-Hearing. Most Hearing. The Hearer. Hears to the ultimate maximum. Hears all wholly, entirely, truly surely, totally and surely. Real Hearer. The One from whom nothing is beyond, missed or out of hearing. A/t/a, ‘He hearth,’ ‘ever Hearing,’ ‘ever Hearer,’ ‘All-Hearing,’ ‘He hears all’ and ‘Ever All-Hearer.’ See Note 001:001)
  • بَصِيۡرًا — Ba-se-raa — The Seer (= n., superlative form indicates the greatest, the highest,  the most. and highlights that none sees more than Him. All-seeing. Mindful. Observer On the lookout. One who looks after. One who sees real well. One who takes full cognizance. Overseer. The Top-seer Watch. Watchful. Who see all things all the time and full well. A/t/a, ‘seeth (all things),’ ‘Seer,’ ‘Seeing,’ ‘All-Seeing,’ ‘All-seer’ and ‘sees all.’ See Note 001:001)
