The Holy Qor-aan                                                                                                             004:160

 

وَاِنۡ مِّنۡ اَهۡلِ الۡكِتٰبِ اِلَّا لَيُـؤۡمِنَنَّ بِهٖ قَبۡلَ مَوۡتِهٖ‌ ۚ  وَيَوۡمَ الۡقِيٰمَةِ يَكُوۡنُ عَلَيۡهِمۡ شَهِيۡدًا‌ ۚ‏

 

Wa-in-min-ah-lil-ka-taa-bay-il-laa                                                                                                    La-yoe-may-nun-na-bay-he-qub-la-mao-tay-he                                                                            Wa-yao-mul-qay-yaa-ma-tay-ya-koo-n0-alai-him-sha-he-daa

 

And surely even among the people of the Book none                                                      Will believe in this (the death of Jesus on cross) before his death.                          And on the Day of Judgment, he too will be a witness against them.

 

  • وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; but; also; more over; though; when; while; yet)
  • اِنۡ — In — Surely (= Absolutely; assuredly; categorically; clearly, definitely; doubtlessly; earnestly; for sure; indeed; positively; really; surely; truly; verily. A/t/a, ‘there is none’ and ‘There is not one’)
  • مِّنۡ — Min — Among (= Among or from or out of the class or category of several. A/t/a, ‘of’)
  • اَهۡلِ — Ah-l…(il) — People of (= Believers in; people; users of; those entrusted with. Refers to the Jews and Christians)
  • الۡكِتٰبِ — Ul-kay-taa-bay — The Book (= n., The Divine Directive of Commands, Prohibitions and Regulations. Holy Scripture. See verse 002:003)
  • اِلَّا — Il-laa  — But none (= Apart from; besides; except; excluding; save; unless. A/t/a, but’ and ‘none … but’)
  • لَ — La — Certainly (=Absolutely; assuredly; categorically; clearly, definitely; doubtlessly; earnestly; for sure; indeed; positively; really; surely; truly; verily. A/t/a,  ‘must’)
  • يُـؤۡمِنَنَّ — Yoe-may-nun-na — Believe (= v., pres., pl., 3rd person. Accept, admit, believe, have faith or recognize truthfulnessof the Holy Qor-aan and become Moslem. .See Commentary Believe and Disbelieve. ** See below Note 004:160. A/t/a, ‘will continue to ‘believe,’ ‘will continue to believe … that Jesus died on the cross,’ ‘will believe’ and ‘must believe’)
  • بِ — Bay — With (= Literally the word بِ  means with. A/t/a, in’)
  • هٖ — He — This (= pro., s., m., 3rd person. Refers to Jesus Christ’s death. A/t/a, ‘in this (incident, that Jesus died on the cross)’ and ‘him [Isa (Jesus) son of Maryam (Mary) as only a Messenger of Allah and a human being’)
  • قَبۡلَ — Qub-la — Before (= Ahead of; before; earlier; former or older times; prior to)
  • مَوۡتِ — Mao-tay — Death (= n., After life has ended; downfall; end of life on earth; extinction; stupor. Total desolateness, demolition, destruction or ruin. A/t/a, ‘die’ but this translation as a verb is not of what the Holy Qor-aan has stated as a noun )
  • هٖ — He — His (= pro., s., m., 3rd person. Refers to his death. A/t/a, ‘his Isa (Jesus) p.o.h or a Jew’s or a Christian’s) death (at the time of the appearance of the angel of death)’
  • وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ  above)
  • يَوۡم — Yao-m…(ul) — Day of (= n., s., A period, term or time that ends; juncture)
  • الۡقِيٰمَةِ‌ — Qay-yaa-ma-tay — Judgment (= Reckoning; Resurrection; Ultimate settlement)
  • يَكُوۡنُ  — Ya-koo-no — Will be (= It is or will be, begins to be or comes to be. It is or will  happen, materialize, occur or take place. Then there it is, all done. This word is in ‘present participle’ form; so its translation in the past tense as ‘he was’ is inaccurate.  A/t/a, ‘will be,’ ‘he (Jesus) shall be,’Jesus shall,’ ‘he (- Jesus) will be’ and ‘he [Isa (Jesus)]
  • عَلَيۡ — Alai — On (= Above; against; before; during; for; on; over; to; upon)
  • هِمۡ — Him — Them (= pro., pl., m., 3 rd person. Those men, they or their)
  • شَهِيۡدًا — Sha-he-da — Witness (= n., s., Attester, observer, onlooker, testifier, verifier, watch, watcher or witness. Adducer of proof. Bearer, giver or provider of evidence or testimony. Producer of  corroboration; witness. Also, a helper, seer or supporter. A/t/a, ‘shall bear witness’

 

** Note 004:160. The words above cumulatively mean None of even the people of Scripture believe that he (Jesus) died. The reason is any allegation that he had died on the wooden-cross and so suffered an accursed death under the Judaic law.
