The Holy Qor-aan                                                                                                                  004:163

 

لٰـكِنِ الرّٰسِخُوۡنَ فِى الۡعِلۡمِ مِنۡهُمۡ وَالۡمُؤۡمِنُوۡنَ يُـؤۡمِنُوۡنَ بِمَاۤ اُنۡزِلَ اِلَيۡكَ وَمَاۤ اُنۡزِلَ مِنۡ قَبۡلِكَ‌ وَالۡمُقِيۡمِيۡنَ الصَّلٰوةَ‌ وَالۡمُؤۡتُوۡنَ الزَّكٰوةَ وَ الۡمُؤۡمِنُوۡنَ بِاللّٰهِ وَالۡيَوۡمِ الۡاٰخِرِ ؕ  اُولٰٓٮِٕكَ سَنُؤۡتِيۡهِمۡ اَجۡرًا عَظِيۡمًا

 

Laa-kay-nir-raa-say-khoo-na-fil-il-may-min-hoom                                                                  Wul-moe-may-noo-na-yoe-may-noo-na-bay-maa                                                                      Oon-zay-la-elai-ka-wa-maa-oon-zay-la-min-qub-lay-ka                                                            Wul-mo-qee-me-nu-sa-laa-ta-wul-moe-too-nuz-za-kaa-ta                                                      Wul-moe-may-noo-na-bil-laa-hay-wul-yao-mil-aa-kha-ray                                                      O-laa-iy-ka-sa-noe-tee-him-uj-run-azaa-maa

 

But those deeply rooted in knowledge among them                                                  And the believers believing in all that                                                                                  Was entrusted to you and all that was entrusted before you                                      And the observers of the prayers and givers of the Zakat                                        And the believers in Allah and the Day Coming Later                                                    All of them are that We give them a great Reward

  

  •  لٰـكِنِ — Laa-kay-nir — But (= However; instead; nevertheless; yet)

The construction of next three (3) words is in 003:008 and 004:163

  • ٱلرَّٲسِخُونَ — Raa-say-khoo-na — Deeply rooted (= n., pl., Firmly grounded; serious scholars who are  dug deep, established, firmed up, soundly possessed, well-founded and well-grounded in knowledge. A/t/a, those ‘firm,’ ‘firmly grounded,’ ‘firmly rooted in knowledge,’ ”have deep learning’ and well-grounded)
  • فِى — F…(il) — In (= Contained or inside a time, place, thing or situation. Also, concerning; regarding, relative or in reference to)
  • ٱلۡعِلۡمِ –Il-may — Knowledge (= Sound instruction; solid information; total awareness)
  • مِنۡ — Min — Among (= Among, from or out of the class or category of several articles, counts, kind, things, persons or phenomenon. A/t/a, ‘of’)
  • هُمۡ‌ — Hoom — Them (= pro., pl., m., 3 rd person. Those men, they or their)
  • وَ — Wa…(ul) — And (= Conj., Connects words, phrases or clauses; also; but; additionally; though; when; while; yet; whereupon)
  • الۡمُؤۡمِنُوۡنَ‌ — Moe-may-noon — The believers (= n,. Adherents of Islam; those who enter the Faith, believe and follow the Holy Qor-aan, the Islaam and become Moslems. Men of faith. The faithful. See Commentary Believe and Disbelieve)
  • يُؤۡمِنُوۡنَ — Yo-me-noon — Believe (= v., pres., pl., 3rd person. Believe. Enter faith; follow the Holy Qor-aan, the Islaam and are Moslems. A/t/a, ‘have firm faith in that,’ ‘believe in that (Divine Message)’ and ‘truly believe’)

The construction in next eleven (11) words is in 002:005, 004:061 and 004:163

  • بِ  — Bay — In  (= Literally the word بِ  means with but the context here warrants to substitute its true meanings with an in)
  • مَاۤ — Maa — All that (= What; whatever; whatsoever; any time; whenever. A/t/a, ‘which’)
  • اُنۡزِلَ — Oon-zay-la — Was entrusted (= v., past., pass., s., 3rd person. Dispatched, given, granted; inspired; revealed. Handed, laid, lowered or sent down. Also, delivered; landed; provided; released; supplied. A/t/a, ‘has been revealed’ and ‘was revealed.’ See Note 002:005a)
  • اِلَيۡ — E-lai — To (= In the direction of; towards. A/t/a, ‘to’)
  • كَ  — Ka — You (= pro., s., m., 2nd person. You single male. The addressee of this divine message is the Holy Prophet s.a.w. See the Note under 002:005. A/t/a, ‘thee’  and ‘you (Muhammad s.a.w)’  
  • وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., Connects words, phrases. See وَ  above)
  • مَاۤ  — Maa — All that (= What; whatever; whatsoever. Any time; whenever)
  • اُنۡزِلَ — Oon-zay-la — Entrusted (= v., past., pass., s., 3rd person. Dispatched, given, granted; inspired, revealed or sent down. See  اُنۡزِلَ above)
  • مِنۡ — Min — From (= Among, from or out of the class, category, count, kind or several persons or things)
  • قَبۡلِ — Qub-lay — Before (= Earlier or prior apostles, prophets, sages and saints. A/t/a, ‘other prophets before’)
  • كَ — Ka — You (= pro., s., m., 2nd person. You. See  كَ above)
  • وَ  — Wa…(ul) — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ  above. A/t/a, ‘especially’)
  • الۡمُقِيۡمِيۡنَ — Mo-qee-me-na(us) — Observers (= n., pl. Those who attend, establish, keep up, observe or perform. A/t/a, ‘diligent’ and ‘observers’)
  • الصَّلٰوةَ‌ — Sa-laa-ta — The prayer (= The Commandment for the Moslems to pray Five times Daily. Abjectly and earnestly beseeching, requesting or supplicating in worshiping. Praying with full attention and focused mind. See our Commentary ISLAM – 104 — 5 Acts of worships or pillars of Islam. A/t/a, ‘regular prayer’ and ‘As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat)’  
  • وَ — Wa…(ul) — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ  above)
  •  الۡمُؤۡتُوۡنَ — Moe-too-nuz — Givers (= n., pl. Awarders; contributors; donors, givers. Those  who ‘give’ or ‘pay.’ A/t/a, ‘who go on presenting’ and ‘practise’)
  • الزَّكٰوةَ — Za-kaa-ta — Purification (= n., Alms; alms-tax; poor due, poor rate, purifying alms or tithes paid to purify. Portion of income donated for purification of earnings and soul. Regular charity. Way to spend money to make earnings grow. Technique to invest a little now in the causes of Allah and reap much higher harvest later of tremendous rewards from Him. A/t/a, ‘regular charity,’ ‘Zakat’ and ‘poor-rate’)
  • وَ — Wa…(ul) — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ  above)
  • الۡمُؤۡمِنُوۡنَ‌ — Moe-may-noon  The believers (= n,. Adherents of Islam; Believers. See الۡمُؤۡمِنُوۡنَ above. A/t/a, ‘believe sincerely’ and ‘have faith’ but this translation as a verb is not of what the Holy Qor-aan has stated as a noun)
  • بِ — B(il) — With (= Literally the word بِ  means with but the context here warrants to substitute it with an in
  • اللّٰهِ  — Laa-hay — Allah (= The One and the Only One Almighty God)
  • وَ — Wa…(ul) — And  (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ  above)
  • الۡيَوۡمِ — Yao-m…(il) — The Day (= s., Juncture; period, term or time that comes to an end)
  • الۡاٰخِرِ — Aaa-khay-ray —  Coming later (= Coming; end; last; yet to come. Since the word الۡيَوۡم means ‘day’ and الۡاٰخِرِ   means ‘Hereafter,’ ‘yet to come,’  joined together the phrase الۡيَوۡمِ الۡاٰخِرِ means The End Day, The Judgment Day; The Resurrection. A/t/a, ‘the Last Day’)
  • اُولٰٓٮِٕكَ — O-laa-aiy-ka — All of them (= All of them. Ref to all of the acts, facts, items, persons or things. A/t/a, ‘To these,’ ‘to them,’ ‘these shall be’ and ‘it is they’)  
  • سَ — Sa — Soon (= The one-lettered word that turns a verb in the present tense to verb in the near term or future; in a short while; quickly; swiftly; very closely; without too long a wait. A/t/a, definitely; surely, ‘shall,’ ‘will … surely’ and ‘will certainly’)
  • نُؤۡتِيۡ — Noe-tee — We give (= v., pres., pl., 1st person. Award; bestow; bring; gift; give; grant. Also, contribute toward charity; distribute; donate. But the the translation ‘shall be rewarded’ in the passive voice is not of what the Holy Qor-aan has stated in the  active voice)
  • هِمۡ — Him — Them (= pro., pl., m., 3 rd person. Those men, they or their)

The construction of next two (2) words is in 004:041 and 004:163

  • اَجۡرًا — Uj-run — A reward (= n., s. An award; good result; prize; recognition; trophy. A/t/a, ‘reward’)
  • عَظِيۡمًا — Aa-ze-maa — Great (= adj., Abounding; awe-inspiring; awesome; colossal; enormous; extreme; fabulous; fantastic; immense. More meanings see the above-mentioned verses. A/t/a, ‘great,’ ‘mighty,’ ‘immense’ and ‘richly’)
