The Holy Qor-aan                                                                                                                  004:163

 

لٰـكِنِ الرّٰسِخُوۡنَ فِى الۡعِلۡمِ مِنۡهُمۡ وَالۡمُؤۡمِنُوۡنَ يُـؤۡمِنُوۡنَ بِمَاۤ اُنۡزِلَ اِلَيۡكَ وَمَاۤ اُنۡزِلَ مِنۡ قَبۡلِكَ‌ وَالۡمُقِيۡمِيۡنَ الصَّلٰوةَ‌ وَالۡمُؤۡتُوۡنَ الزَّكٰوةَ وَ الۡمُؤۡمِنُوۡنَ بِاللّٰهِ وَالۡيَوۡمِ الۡاٰخِرِ ؕ  اُولٰٓٮِٕكَ سَنُؤۡتِيۡهِمۡ اَجۡرًا عَظِيۡمًا

 

Laa-kay-nay  ir-raa-say-khoo-na  fee  il-il-may  min  hoom
Wa  ul-moe-may-noo-na  yoe-may-noo-na  bay-maa
Oon-zay-la  aiy-lai  ka  wa  maa-oon-zay-la  min-qaub-lay  ka
Wa  ul-mo-qee-me-na  us-sa-laa-ta  wa  ul-moe-too-na  uz-za-kaa-ta
Wa  ul-moe-may-noo-na  bay  il-laa-hay  wa  ul-yao-may  il-aa-khay-ray
O-laa-iy-ka  sa  noe-tee  him  auj-raun  aa-zee-maa

 

But those deeply rooted in knowledge among them                                                  And the believers believing in all that                                                                                  Was entrusted to you and all that was entrusted before you                                      And the observers of the prayers and givers of the Zakat                                        And the believers in Allah and the Latter Day
All of them are that We will  give them soon a great Reward

  

  •  لٰـكِنِ — Laa-kay-nir — But (= However; instead; nevertheless; yet)

The text in next next three (3) words is in verses 003:008 and 004:163

  • ٱلرَّٲسِخُونَ — Raa-say-khoo-na — Deeply rooted (= n., pl., Dug deep. Firmly grounded. Solidly founded. Soundly possessed. Well-established. A/t/a, those ‘firm,’ ‘firmly grounded,’ ‘firmly rooted in knowledge,’ ‘have deep learning’ and ‘well-grounded’)
  • فِى — Fee … (il) — In (= (= About. Amidst. Among. Contained inside a duration, event, time, place, period, person, phenomenon, situation or thing. Also, concerning; for the sake of; in reference to; pursuant to; regarding; relative to. See 002:028)
  • ٱلۡعِلۡمِ –Il-may — Knowledge (= n., Accumulation of realities. Awareness based upon   facts. Certainty based upon truth. Comprehension. Information. Irrefutable Realities and Realizations. Truth. Wisdom. Also, absence of ignorance. See Note 002:033)
  • مِنۡ — Min — Among (= Among, from or out of the class or category of several articles, counts, kind, things, persons or phenomenon. A/t/a, ‘of’)
  • هُمۡ‌ — Hoom — Them (= pro., pl., m., 3 rd person. Those men, they or their)
  • وَ — Wa … (ul) — And (= Conj., Connects words, phrases or clauses; also; but; additionally; though; when; while; yet; whereupon)
  • الۡمُؤۡمِنُوۡنَ‌ — Moe-may-noo-na — The believers (= n,. Adherents of Islam; those who enter the Faith, believe and follow the Holy Qor-aan, the Iss-laam and become Moslems. Men of faith. The faithful. See Commentary Believe and Disbelieve)
  • يُؤۡمِنُوۡنَ — Yoe-may-noo-na — They Believe (= v., pres., pl., 3rd person. Believe. Enter faith. Follow the Holy Qor-aan, the Iss-laam and are Moslems. A/t/a, ‘have firm faith in that,’ ‘believe in that (Divine Message)’ and ‘truly believe’)

  • بِمَا — Bay-maa — In all that (= Combination of two words.  بِ  means ‘with / in’ and مَاۤ    means ‘all that, whatever, whatsoever or whenever.’ The combination بِمَا  (bay-maa) means ‘because of; due to; for the reason that; in all that; on account of; owing to, with all that. See 002:092. A/t/a, ‘which’)
  • اُنۡزِلَ — Oon-zay-la — Was entrusted (= v., past., pass., s., 3rd person. Dispatched, given, granted, handed down,, inspired, laid, lowered, revealed or sent down. Also, delivered; landed; provided; released; supplied. See Note 002:005a. A/t/a, ‘revealed,’ ‘has been revealed,’ ‘was revealed and ‘sent down’)
  • اِلَيۡ — Aiy-lai — To (= In the direction of; towards. A/t/a, ‘to’)
  • كَ  — Ka — You (= pro., s., m., 2nd person. You single male. The real addressee of this divine message is the Holy Prophet s.a.w. See the Note under 002:005. A/t/a, ‘thee’  and ‘you (Muhammad s.a.w)’  
  • وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., Links words, phrases. See وَ  above)
  • مَاۤ  — Maa — All that (= What; whatever; whatsoever. See  مَاۤ  above)
  • اُنۡزِلَ — Oon-zay-la — Was entrusted (= v., past., pass., s., 3rd person. Dispatched, given, granted, inspired, revealed or sent down. See  اُنۡزِلَ above)
  • مِنۡ — Min — From (= Among, from or out of the class or category of several articles, counts, kind, things, persons or phenomenon)
  • قَبۡلِ — Qaub-lay — Before (= Earlier, former, older, past or prior times. Ref is to the prior apostles, messengers, prophets, sages and saints. A/t/a, ‘other prophets before’)
  • كَ — Ka — You (= pro., s., m., 2nd person. You. See  كَ above)
  • وَ  — Wa … (ul) — And (= Conj., Links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ  above. A/t/a, ‘especially’)
  • الۡمُقِيۡمِيۡنَ — Mo-qee-me-na … (us) — Observers (= n., pl. Those who attend, establish, keep up, observe or perform. A/t/a, ‘observers,’ diligent’ and who ‘attend,’ ‘establish,’ ’keep up,’ ‘perform’ or ‘observe’)
  • الصَّلٰوةَ‌ — Sa-laa-ta — The prayer (= The Commandment for the Moslems to pray Five times Daily. Abjectly and earnestly beseeching, requesting or supplicating in worshiping. Praying with full attention and focused mind. See our Commentary ISLAM – 104 — 5 Acts of worships or pillars of Islam. A/t/a, ‘regular prayer’ and ‘As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat)’  
  • وَ — Wa … (ul) — And (= Conj., Links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ  above)
  •  الۡمُؤۡتُوۡنَ — Moe-too-na … (uz) — Givers (= n., pl. Awarders; contributors; donors; givers; presenters.  A/t/a, who ‘pay,’ ‘give,’ ‘practise’ or ‘go on presenting’)
  • الزَّكٰوةَ — Za-kaa-ta — Purification (= n., Alms; alms-tax; poor due, poor rate, purifying alms or tithes paid to purify. Portion of income donated for purification of earnings and soul. Regular charity. Way to spend money to make earnings grow. The technique to invest a little now in the causes of Allah and reap a much higher harvest later of tremendous rewards from Him. A/t/a, ‘regular charity,’ ‘Zakat,’ ‘alms,’ ‘alms-tax,’ and ‘poor-rate’)
  • وَ — Wa … (ul) — And (= Conj., Links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ  above)
  • الۡمُؤۡمِنُوۡنَ‌ — Moe-may-noo-na — The believers (= n,. Adherents of Islam; Believers. See الۡمُؤۡمِنُوۡنَ above. A/t/a, ‘believe’ and ‘have faith’ but those verbs have not translated the noun in the Holy Qor-aan)
  • بِ — Bay … (il) — In  (= This word means with but the context here warrants to substitute it with in)
  • اللّٰهِ  — Laa-hay — Allah (= The One and the Only One Almighty God)
  • وَ — Wa … (ul) — And  (= Conj., Links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ  above)
  • الۡيَوۡمِ الۡاٰخِرِ  — Yao-may-il-aa-khay-ray — The Latter Day (= n., s. The Coming, End, Last Day. The phrase consists of four segments. The first and third are two letters  الۡ (al) that particularize a common noun to a proper noun. The second يَوۡمِ (yaom) means a day, term, juncture, period or time that is replaced by another of the same. The fourth اٰخِرِ (aa-khay-ray) means later, next, yet to come.  The whole phrase means the End or Judgment Day or Resurrection. See Note 002:009′)
  • اُولٰٓٮِٕكَ — O-laa-aiy-ka — All of these (= Acts, facts, items, persons or things. A/t/a, ‘To these,’ ‘to them,’ ‘these shall be’ and ‘it is they’)  
  • سَ — Sa — Soon (= This prefix turns a verb in the present tense into a verb in the future tense. See Note 002:059.  A/t/a, ‘shall,’ ‘will … surely’ and ‘will certainly’)
  • نُؤۡتِيۡ — Noe-tee — We give (= v., pres., pl., 1st person. Award; pay; grant; practice. See  الۡمُؤۡتُوۡنَ above. But ‘shall be rewarded’ in passive voice has not translated the Holy Qor-aan text in the active voice. A/t/a, ‘give’ and ‘bestow’)
  • هِمۡ — Him — Them (= pro., pl., m., 3 rd person. Those men, they or their)

The construction of next two (2) words is in 004:041 and 004:163

  • اَجۡرًا — Auj-raun — An award (= n., s. Award; compensation; good result; gracious gift;  honor; prize; recognition; recompense; reimbursement; remuneration; reward; trophy.  A/t/a, ‘reward’ but that verb is no translation of noun in the Holy Qor-aan text)
  • عَظِيۡمًا — Aa-ze-maa — Great (= adj., Awesome; glorious, great; magnificent; mighty;  tremendous. Also abounding; awe-inspiring; awesome; colossal; enormous; extreme; fabulous; fantastic; immense.  A/t/a, ‘great,’ ‘mighty,’ ‘immense’ and ‘richly’)
