The Holy Qor-aan 004:168
اِنَّ الَّذِيۡنَ كَفَرُوۡا وَ صَدُّوۡا عَنۡ سَبِيۡلِ اللّٰهِ قَدۡ ضَلُّوۡا ضَلٰلًاۢ بَعِيۡدًا
In-nul-la-ze-na-ka-fa-roo-wa-sud-do-un-sa-be-lil-laa-hay Qud-dzul-loo-dza-laa-lun-ba-ee-daa
Certainly those who disbelieved and barred from the cause of Allah Surely went astray, straying gone very far
The following construction of words appears in 004:168 and 004:169
- اِنَّ — In-na … (ul) — Certainly (= Absolutely; definitely; doubtlessly; indeed; really surely; truly; verily. A/t/a, ‘Lo!’)
- ٱلَّذِينَ — Ul-la-zee-na — Those who (= pl., m, 3rd person. Those articles, things or persons)
- كَفَرُوۡا — Ka-fa-roo — They disbelieved (= v., past, pl., 3rd person. Denied, refused and rejected the Faith and belief in Allah, the Holy Qor-aan, Islam and become Moslem. See Commentary Believe and Disbelieve. A/t/a, ‘reject Faith,’ ‘disbelieve,’ ‘Those that believe’ and ‘those who disbelieve [by concealing the truth about Prophet Muhammad s.a.w and his message of true Islamic Monotheism written in the Taurat (Torah) and the Injil (Gospel)..]’… (Tafsir Al-Qutubi)’ but such translation as a verb in the present tense is not of what the Holy Qor-aan has used it in the past tense)
- وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; but; also; more over; though; when; while; yet)
- صَدُّوۡا — Sud-do — They barred (= v., past, pl., 3rd person. Barred; blocked; hindered; hurdled; interrupted; obstructed; prevented; restrained; restricted; restrained; stopped; turned away. A/t/a, ‘keep off (men),’ ‘hinder (others),’ ‘hinder people,’ ‘prevent (mankind)’ and ‘debar others’ but such translation as a verb in the present tense is not of what the Holy Qor-aan has used it in the past tense)
- عَنۡ –Un — From (= About; concerning; regarding; relative to. A/t/a, ‘from (following)’

- اللّٰهِ — Laa-hay — Allah (= The Almighty God; The only One worthy of worship)
- قَدۡ — Qud — Indeed (= This word lays emphasis as certainly, definitely, surely, etc. A/t/a, ‘indeed’ and ‘certainly.’ See our Commentary titled ‘2 Words of Emphasis used together Multiply Effect)
- ضَلُّوۡا — Dzul-loo — Went astray (= v., past, pl, 3rd person. Blundered; misguided; mistaken; strayed; turned in wrong direction or road. A/t/a, ‘erred’ and ‘have wandered’)
