The Holy Qor-aan                                                                                                         005:068

 

  يٰۤـاَيُّهَا الرَّسُوۡلُ بَلِّغۡ مَاۤ اُنۡزِلَ اِلَيۡكَ مِنۡ رَّبِّكَ‌ ؕ وَاِنۡ لَّمۡ تَفۡعَلۡ فَمَا بَلَّغۡتَ رِسٰلَـتَهٗ‌ ؕ وَاللّٰهُ يَعۡصِمُكَ مِنَ النَّاسِ‌ ؕ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ لَا يَهۡدِى الۡقَوۡمَ الۡـكٰفِرِيۡنَ‏

 

Yaa-auy-yo-hur-ra-soo-lo-bul-ligh                                                                                                    Maa-oon-zay-la-elai-ka-mir-rub-bay-ka                                                                                      Wa-i(n)-lum-tuf-ul-fa-maa-bul-lugh-ta-ray-saa-la-ta-hoo                                                        Wul-laa-ho-yau-say-mo-ka-may-nun-naa-say                                                                              In-nul-laa-ha-laa-yah-dil-qao-mil-kaa-fay-ree-n

 

Listen you the Messenger! Deliver                                                                                        What’s entrusted to you from your Lord.                                                                            And if you don’t do it then you didn’t deliver His message.                                        And Allah protects you from the people.                                                                        Surely Allah does not guide the ungrateful people.

 

  • يٰۤ — Yaa  — Listen (= Be attentive; hearken; pay attention; O!)
  • اَيُّ — Auy-yo — One of many (= Refers to a small number out of a much larger group)
  • هَا — Ha … (ur) — It (= pro., s., f., 3rd person., Refers to aforesaid group)
  • الرَّسُوۡلُ — Ra-soo-lo — The Messenger (= n., s., Apostle; messenger; prophet; sage; saint. A/t/a, ‘O Messenger’ and ‘O  Messenger (Muhammad s.a.w)’
  • بَلِّغۡ — Bul-ligh — Deliver (= v., pres., s., 2nd person. Convey; preach; profess; take to. A/t/a, ‘deliver,’ ‘proclaim The (Message),’ ‘proclaim,’ ‘proclaim widely,’ ‘make known,’ ‘convey to the people,’ ’convey (to the people the entire message) well’ and ‘convey’)
  • مَاۤ — Maa — What (= All that; whatever; whatsoever; at such time; when. A/t/a, ‘what,’ ‘which’ and ‘that which’)
  • اُنۡزِلَ — Oon-zay-la — Entrusted (= v., past., pass., s, 3rd person. Dispatched, given, granted; inspired; revealed. Handed, laid, lowered, or sent down. Also, delivered; landed upon; provided; released; supplied. See Note 002:005a. A/t/a, ‘has been sent,’ ‘has been sent down,’ ‘has been revealed,’ ‘had been revealed’ and ‘is revealed’)
  • اِلَيۡ — Elai — To (= In the direction of; to; towards. A/t/a, ‘unto’)
  • كَ — Ka — You (= pro., s., m., 2nd person. You single male. A/t/a, ‘thee’)
  • مِنۡ — Mi-(n)r– From (= Among, from or out of the class or category of several articles, counts, kind, things, persons or phenomenon)
  • رَّبِّ — Rub-bay — God (= The Almighty Allah who fills needs of all creatures; Cherisher; Creator; Guardian; Master; Lord Provident. The Only One Who provides all that sustains life. The Ultimate Provider of air, water, food and whatever we and all other creatures need to live and subsist)
  • كَ — Ka — You (= pro., s., m., 2nd person. You single male. A/t/a, ‘thy’)
  • وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; but;                          also; more over; though; when; while; yet. A/t/a, ‘for’)
  • اِنۡ — I-(n)l– If (= In case; under the circumstances; when; when situation arises; whenever)
  • لَّمۡ — Lum — Not (= Absolutely never; no, not at all. A/t/a, ‘hast not’)
  • تَفۡعَلۡ –Tuf-ul — Do (= v., pres., s., 2nd person. Act; perform; practice; work.  A/t/a, ‘didst … thou,’ ‘thou did (it),’ ‘thou do it,’ you do it’ and ‘you do’)
  • فَ — Fa — Then (= After all this; at the end; consequently; finally; hence; in conclusion; so; thereafter; therefore; thus)
  • مَاۤ — Maa — Not (= Absolutely not; no; never. A/t/a, ‘not (at all)’
  • بَلَّغۡتَ — Bul-lugh-ta — You delivered (= v., past., s., 2nd person. Conveyed; preached; professed; took to. A/t/a, ‘thou Wouldst … have fulfilled And proclaimed,’ ‘thou hast … delivered,’ ‘thou hast … conveyed,’ ‘thou will … have conveyed,’ ‘have … conveyed,’ ‘thou wilt … have conveyed … at all,’ ‘you have … conveyed … as it ought to have been,’ ‘you would … have conveyed’ and ‘you will surely fail to convey’)
  • رِسٰلَـتَ — Ray-saa-la-ta — Message (= n., Word. A/t/a, ‘message’ and ‘Mission)
  • هٗ — Hoo — His (= pro., s., m., 3rd person. Refers to the Almighty God)
  • وَ  — Wa … (ul)– And (= The وَ  vaao is tantamount to taking oath; solemn  declaration or calling as a witness. See also وَ  above)
  • اللّٰهُ — Laa-ho — Allah (= The Almighty God; The only One worthy of worship)
  • يَعۡصِمُ — Yau-say-mo — Protects (= v., pres., s., 2nd person. Defends; protects; safeguards; saves. A/t/a, ‘will defend,’ ‘will protect,’  ‘will protect … from all (the onslaught of) … (on you life),’ ‘safeguard … against harm’ and ‘protect’)
  • كَ — Ka — You (= pro., s., m., 2nd person. You single male. A/t/a, ‘thee’)
  • مِنَ — May-n … (un) — From (= Among, from or out of the class or category of several articles, counts, kind, things, persons or phenomenon)
  • النَّاسِ — Un-naa-say — The people (= Factions; folks, mankind, groups of men, nations or  tribes. Human beings. A/t/a, ‘the people,’ ‘men,’ ‘men (who mean mischief),’                 ‘mankind’ and ‘all men’)
  • In-na … (ul) — Certainly (= Absolutely; clearly, decidedly. See  اِنَّ  above. A/t/a, ‘for,’  ‘Lo!’ and ‘verily’)
  • ٱللَّهَ — Laa-ha  — Allah (= The One and the Only One Almighty God)
  • لَا — Laa — Not / Does not (= Naught; neither; never; none; nor; not at all; absolute denial and total negation without exception)
  • يَهۡدِ  — Yah-day … (il) —  Guides (= v., pres., m., s., 3rd person. Directs to the best way; guides to the right road; leads on level linier lines; puts on proper path; shows sure success; avoids evil which obstructs reaching noble aims, goals and objects. A/t/a,  ‘does not guide,’ ‘guideth,’ ‘guides’  and ‘let … have their way’)
  • الۡقَوۡمِ — Qao-may …(il) — People (= n., s., Addressees; attendees; fellows; followers; folks; nation; party; people; tribe. Group of people. A/t/a, ‘those’ and ‘folk’)
  • الۡكٰفِرِيۡنَ — Kaa-fay-reen — The ungrateful (= n., pl., 1. Non-appreciating; thankless; unappreciative; who abuse, misuse, refuse, fail to use, or gratefully acknowledge and utilize any of the many God-given blessings, gifts, opportunities or talents provided to them. 2. Deniers; disbelievers; faithless; heretics, infidels; non-believers; rejecters of the Faith; resistors to God; unbelievers. See our Commentary Believe and Disbelieve. A/t/a, ‘who reject Faith,’ ‘who disbelieve,’ ‘disbelieving,’ ‘unbelieving’ and ‘unbelievers’)
