The Holy Qor-aan 005:072
وَحَسِبُوۡۤا اَلَّا تَكُوۡنَ فِتۡنَةٌ فَعَمُوۡا وَصَمُّوۡا ثُمَّ تَابَ اللّٰهُ عَلَيۡهِمۡ ثُمَّ عَمُوۡا وَصَمُّوۡا كَثِيۡرٌ مِّنۡهُمۡؕ وَاللّٰهُ بَصِيۡرٌۢ بِمَا يَعۡمَلُوۡنَ
Wa-ha-say-boo-ul-laa-ta-koo-na-fit-na-toon Fa-aa-moo-wa-sum-moo Thoom-ma-taa-bul-laa-ho-alai-him Thoom-ma-aa-moo-wa-sum-moo-ka-thee-roon-min-hoom Wul-laa-ho-ba-see-roon-bay-maa-yau-la-moo-n
And they thought that no mischief will happen So, they blinded and silenced themselves. Then Allah turned with compassionate to them Then again many among them blinded and silenced themselves. And by God Allah is the seer of all that they practice.

- حَسِبُوۡۤا — Ha-say-boo — Thought (= v., past., pl., 3rd person., Considered, counted, imagined, reckoned or supposed. A//t/a, ‘thought,’ ‘reckoned,’ ‘imagined’ and ‘supposed’)
- اَلَّا — Ul-laa — That + not (= This one word is a combination of two words. The 1st word is اَنۡ (un) and means that. The 2nd word is لَا (laa) and means never, no or not at all. Combined they mean ‘so that’ or ‘this result is due to the reason that.’ A/t/a, ‘no’)
- تَكُوۡنَ — Ta-koo-na — Will be (= v., pret., s., f., 3rd person. Will become, happen, materialize, occur or precipitate. A/t/a, ‘will be,’ ‘would be,’ ‘conduct would entail,’ ‘would come of it,’ ’would result from their conduct’ and ‘would come to them’)
- فِتۡنَةٌ — Fit-na-toon — Mischief (= n., The context pinpoints whether a phenomenon, thing or person is or will become bad, disorder, disruption, disturbance, exam, hurdle, mischief, ordeal, test, trial, turmoil or violence. A/t/a, ‘affliction,’ ‘harm,’ ‘trial (or punishment),’ ‘Fitnah (trial or punishment)’ and ‘punishment’)

- عَمُوۡا — Aa-moo — Blinded (= v., past., pl., 3rd person. Acted, pretended, or really became and turned blind. A/t/a, ‘they became blind,’ ‘they were blind,’ ‘were wilfully blind’ and ‘they willfully became blind’)
- وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ above)
- صَمُّوۡا — Sum-moo — Silenced (= v., past., pl., 3rd person. Acted, pretended, or really became and turned deaf)
- ثُمَّ — Thoom-ma — Then (= After that; further more; subsequently; thereafter. A/t/a, ‘then,’ ‘Yet,’ ‘And afterwards,’ ‘But,’ ‘(then they sought Allah’s pardon) then’ and ‘after that’)
- تَابَ — Taa-ba … (ul) — Turned (= v., past., pl., 3rd person. Forgave; relented; turned in compassion and forgiveness. A/t/a, ‘(in mercy) turned,’ ‘turned … mercifully,’ ‘turned … in mercy,’ ‘turned to them (with mercy with the advent of Jesus),’ ‘relented’ and ‘turned to them (with forgiveness)’
- ٱللَّهَ — Laa-ha — Allah (= The One and the Only One Almighty God)
- عَلَيۡ — Alai — To (= Above; against; before; during; for; on; on top of; over; to; towards)
- هِمۡ — Him — Them (= pro., pl., m., 3rd person. Those men; they; theirs)
- ثُمَّ — Thoom-ma — Then (= Thereafter. See ثُمَّ above. A/t/a, ‘yet again,’ ‘again,’ ‘now (even after that),’ ‘but then’ and ‘but … again’)
- عَمُوۡا — Aa-moo — Blinded (= v., past., pl., 3rd person. Acted, pretended, or really became and turned blind. A/t/a, ‘became blind,’ See عَمُوۡا above)

- وَ — Wa … (ul) — By (= The وَ vaao is tantamount to taking oath; solemn declaration. See وَ above)
- اللّٰهُ — Laa-ho — Allah (= The Almighty God; The only One worthy of worship)
- بَصِيۡرٌ — Ba-see-r — Seer (= n., superlative form indicates the greatest, the highest, the most. and highlights that none sees more than Him. All-seeing. Mindful. Observer On the lookout. One who has full knowledge, sees well and takes cognizance. Overseer. Seer. Watch. Watchful. See 001:001. A/t/a, ‘Seer,’ ‘All-Seer,’ ‘Watchful’ and ‘ever watching.’ But ‘sees well’ and ‘watches’ as verb is no translation of what the Holy Qor-aan has stated as a noun)
- بِمَا — Bay-maa — All that (= Combination of two words. بِ means ‘with / in’ and مَاۤ means ‘all that, whatever, whatsoever or whenever.’ The combination بِمَا (bay-maa) means ‘because of; on account of; for the reason; due to; with / in all that. A/t/a, ‘what’ and ‘over’)
- يَعۡمَلُوۡنَ — Yau-la-moo-n — They practice (= v., pres., pl., 3rd person. Act; do; execute; exercise; function; implement; operate; perform; practice; work. A/t/a, ‘do’ [several authors]. But noun in ‘their actions’ is no translation of the Holy Qor-aan that used verb in the present tense)
