The Holy Qor-aan 006:005
وَمَا تَاۡتِيۡهِمۡ مِّنۡ اٰيَةٍ مِّنۡ اٰيٰتِ رَبِّهِمۡ اِلَّا كَانُوۡا عَنۡهَا مُعۡرِضِيۡنَ
Wa-maa-tau-tee-hoom-min-aa-ya-tim Min-aa-yaa-tay-rub-bay-him Il-laa-kaa-noo-un-haa-moe-ray-dzee-n
And never comes to them a sign From among the signs of their Lord Except that they have always been averse to it.
- وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; but; also; more over; though; when; while; yet
- مَاۤ — Maa — Never (= Absolutely never; no [aro]; not; not at all. A/t/a, ‘Never,’ ‘Never did,’ ‘not’ and ‘every time’)
- تَاۡتِيۡ — Tau-tee — Comes (= v., pres., f., 3rd person. Approaches; arrives; reaches. A/t/a, ‘did … reach,’ ‘came there,’ ‘there comes’ and ‘(as for the people) there comes’)
- هِمۡ — Him — Them (= pro., pl., m., 3rd person. Those men; they; theirs. A/t/a, ‘to the disbelievers’ and ‘unto them’)
- مِّنۡ — Min — From among (= Among, from or out of the class or category of several articles, counts, kind, things, persons or phenomenon)
- اٰيَةٍ — Aa-ya-tin — A sign (= n. s. A command, code, direction, evidence, instruction; law, lesson, message, narrative, order, proof, verse or revelation. See Note 002:074. A/t/a, ‘a single One of the signs,’ ‘a revelation,’ ‘any sign,’ any message’ and ‘Ayah (sign)’
- مِّنۡ — Min — From among (= Among, from or out of the class. See مِّنۡ above. A/t/a, ‘of’)
- اٰيٰتِ — Aa-ya-tay — Revelations (= n., pl. See اٰيَةٍ above. A/t/a, ‘revelations,’ ‘signs,’ ‘Messages’ and ‘Ayat (prods, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.)’
- رَبِّ – Rub-bay — The Provider (= The Almighty Allah who fills all needs of all His creatures; Creator; Master; One Who Sustain; The Lord provident; The Ultimate Provider of Air, water, food and whatever we need to live and subsist)
- هِمۡ — Him — Them (= pro., pl., m., 3rd person. Those men; they; theirs)
- اِلَّا — Il-laa — Except (= Apart from; but; besides; excluding; save; unless. A/t/a, ‘but’)
- كَانُوۡۤا — Kaa-noo — Had been (= v., past., pl., m., 3rd person., Continued doing; used to; went on; were doing. Words has or had always been indicate endless continuity from the past to the present and leading into the future. A/t/a, ‘is,’ ’they did’ and ‘they have been’)
- عَنۡ — Un — From (= About; concerning; regarding; relative to. A/t/a, ‘therefrom’ jointly for this and the next word)
- هَا — Haa — It (= pro., s., f., 3rd person., Refers to aforesaid sign)
- مُعۡرِضِيۡنَ — Moe-ray-dzee-n — Averse (= n., pl., Backsliders. Decliners. Those against, hostile or opposed to, paying no heed to, or turning away and back from guidance. Those withdrawing from virtuous ways and taking another or wrong direction. A/t/a, ‘they turned away,’ ‘ did turn away from it,’ ‘they turn away,’ ‘unbelievers give no heed’ and ‘turning away’)
