The Holy Qor-aan                                                                                                       006:010

 

وَلَوۡ جَعَلۡنَـٰهُ مَلَڪً۬ا لَّجَعَلۡنَـٰهُ رَجُلاً۬ وَلَلَبَسۡنَا عَلَيۡهِم مَّا يَلۡبِسُونَ

 

Wa-lao-ja-ul-naa-ho-ma-la-kun                                                                                                          La-ja-ul-naa-ho-ra-jo-lun                                                                                                                  Wa-la-la-bus-naa-alai-him                                                                                                            Maa-yul-bay-soo-n

 

And if We had made him an angel                                                                                    We surely would have made him look like a man                                                            And covered up the Truth for them                                                                                The way they cover it now

 

  • وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; but; also; more over; though; when; while; yet)
  • لَوۡ — Lao — If (= In case; under the circumstances; wish; would)
  • جَعَلۡ — Ja-ul — Made (= v., past., pl., 3rd person. Caused; made. A/t/a, ‘appointed,’ ‘had appointed’ and ‘had sent’)
  • نَآ — Naa — We (= pro., pl., 1st person. Our; Us. Used with God’s name this is the authoritative way a higher-up talks)
  • هُ — Ho — Him (= pro., s., m., 3rd person. Refers to the aforesaid messenger)
  • مَلَڪً۬ا — Ma-la-kun — An angel (= n., s., An immortal being attendant upon God who  execute His commands and do no wrong. Also, a kind, loving and lovable person. See Note 006:009. A/t/a, ‘an angel (Our Messenger),’ ‘an angel as messenger,’ ‘as Messenger an angel’ and ‘from among the angels’)
  • لَ — La — Certainly (= Assuredly; definitely; surely; verily)
  • جَعَلۡ — Ja-ul — Made (= v., past., pl., 3rd person. Caused; made. See  جَعَلۡ  above. A/t/a, ‘had made,’ ‘would have invested him with,’ ‘would have made him appear, ‘would … have made him,’ ‘would have made him,’ ‘would have sent’ and ‘would have given’)
  • نَآ — Naa — We (= pro., pl., 1st person. Our. See  نَآ  above)
  • هُ  — Ho — Him (= pro., s., m., 3rd person. Refers to the aforesaid person)
  • رَجُلاً۬ — Ra-jo-lun — Man (= n., Human being; man.’ A/t/a, ‘(as) a man (that might speak to men),’ ‘the form of a man,’ ‘appear as a man,’ ‘(appear as) a man,’ ‘in human form,’ ‘the semblance of a man’ and ‘him a man’)
  • وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ  above. A/t/a, ‘and (even in that case’)
  • لَ — La — Certainly (= Definitely; surely; verily; See لَ above. A/t/a, ‘thus’)
  • لَبَسۡ — La-bus — Covered up (= v., past., 3rd person. Clothed. Dressed up. Also, baffled,   or confounded. See Note 003:072. A/t/a, ‘would again made obscure,’ ‘obscured,’ ‘would have obscured,’ ‘should … have caused … confusion,’ ’caused confusion,’ ‘made confused,’ ‘would have caused to be confused,’ ‘would have thus confused’ and ‘would have confused’)
  • نَآ — Naa — — We (= pro., pl., 1st person. Our. See  نَآ  above)
  • عَلَيۡ — Alai — On (= Above; against; before; during; for; on; on top of; over. A/t/a, ‘to’ and ‘for’)
  • هِمۡ — Him — Them (= pro., pl., m., 3rd person. Those men; they; theirs)
  • مَّا — Maa — The way (= All that; what;  whatever; whatsoever. A/t/a, ‘that which,’ ‘‘in a matter which,’ in the matter which,’ ‘with that in which’ and ‘in which’)
  • يَلۡبِسُونَ — Yul-bay-soo-n — They cover   (= v., pres., pl., 3rd person. Clothe; dress up; comfort; hide, A/t/a, deliberately, intentionally, openly and willfully confound, confuse, deny or flout. See Note 003:072. A/t/a, ‘(the truth) they (now) obscure,’ ‘they now consider obscure,’ ‘they are themselves obscuring now,’ ‘they are themselves confusing,’ ‘they have already covered confusion,’ ‘they confuse,’ ‘already to them confused,’ ‘they are already confused’ and ‘they are already confused’ (i.e., the message of Prophet Muhammad, s.a.w’)
