The Holy Qor-aan                                                                                                                006:011

 

 وَلَـقَدِ اسۡتُهۡزِئَ بِرُسُلٍ مِّنۡ قَبۡلِكَ فَحَاقَ بِالَّذِيۡنَ سَخِرُوۡا مِنۡهُمۡ مَّا كَانُوۡا بِهٖ يَسۡتَهۡزِءُوۡنَ

 

Wa-la-qa-diss-toh-zay-aa-min-qub-lay-ka                                                                                      Fa-haa-qa-bil-la-zee-na-sa-khay-roo-min-hoom                                                                            Maa-kaa-noo-bay-he-yus-tah-zay-oon

 

And messengers before you were ridiculed for sure.                                                    So those who among them derided were rounded up for ruin                                  With what they used to ridicule.

 

  • وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; but; also; more over; though; when; while; yet)
  • لَ — La — For (= For the object, person, purpose or reason of; intended for; meant for; concerning; regarding; relative to)
  • قَدۡ — Qa-d … (iss) — Sure (= This word lays emphasis like certainly, definitely, surely or verily. See Commentary “2 Words of Emphasis used together Multiply Effect.” A/t/a, ‘indeed’)
  • اسۡتُهۡزِئَ — Iss-toh-zay-aa — Ridiculed (= v., pres., pass., pl., 3rd person. Derided;  joked about; laughed at. A/t/a, ‘Mocked were,’ ‘were … mocked at,’ ‘were mocked at,’ ‘have  been mocked at,’ ‘treated scornfully’ and ‘been laughed to scorn’)
  • بِ — Bay — With (= Literally the word بِ  means with)
  • رُسُلٍ — Ro-so-li(m) — Messengers (= n., pl., Apostles; God’s messengers; prophets; sages; saints. A/t/a, ‘Messengers (of Allah,’ ‘Other apostles’ and ‘many messengers’ )
  • مِّنۡ — Min — From (= Among, from or out of the class or category of several articles, counts, kind, things, persons or phenomenon)
  • قَبۡلِ — Qub-lay — Before (= Earlier, former, older, past or prior times. Aforetime. Ahead. Something that had happened earlier)
  • كَ — Ka — You (= pro., s., m., 2nd person. You single male. The addressee of this divine message is the Holy Prophet, s.a.w . See Note 002:005. A/t/a, (O Muhammad!) and ‘thee’)
  • فَ  — Fa — So (= After all this; at the end; consequently; finally; hence; so; then; thereafter; therefore; thus. A/t/a, ‘But’)
  • حَاقَ — Haa-qa  — Rounded up (= v., past., 3rd person. Circled; surrounded; went around. A/t/a, ‘encompassed,’ ‘were hemmed in,’ ‘recoiled’ and ‘were overtaken’)
  • بِ  —  Bay … (il) — With (= Literally the word بِ  means with)
  • ٱلَّذِينَ — Ul-la-zee-na — Those who (= pl., m, 3rd person. Refers to those articles, persons, or phenomenon or things in masculine gender. A/t/a, ‘whereat’ and ‘that which’)
  • سَخِرُوۡا — Sa-khay-roo — Derided (= v., pres., pass., pl., 3rd person. joked about; laughed at; mocked; ridiculed. A/t/a, ‘who scoffed,’ ‘they scoffed,’ ‘that scoffed at’ and ‘who had held (the prophecy) in scorn.’ But ‘scoffers’ is a noun and no translation of what the Holy Qor-aan stated a verb)
  • مِنۡ — Min — From among (= Among, from or out of the class. See مِنۡ above. A/t/a, ‘of’ and ‘such of’)
  • هُمۡ‌ — Hoom — Them (= pro., pl., m., 3rd person. Those men; they; theirs)

The text in the following five (5) words is repeated in 006:006 and 006:011

  • مَاۤ — Maa — What (= All that; what; whatever; whatsoever. A/t/a, ‘that,’ ‘that which,’ ‘those of them who,’ ‘the very scourge,’ ‘the very thing’  and ‘that (prophecy of the ultimate success of the Messenger) which they had held in scorn’)
  • كَانُوۡۤا — Kaa-noo — Used to (= v., past., pl., m., 3rd person., Continued doing; used to ; went on; were doing. Words has or had always been indicate endless continuity from the past to the present and leading into the future. A/t/a, ‘is,’ ‘they had’ and ‘were’)
  • بِ — Bay — With (= Literally the word  بِ  means with. A/t/a, ‘by the’)
  • هٖ — He — It (= pro., s., m., 3rd person. Refers to the aforesaid news)
  • يَسۡتَهۡزِءُوۡنَ — Yus-tah-zay-oon — Ridicule (= v., pres., m., pl., 3rd person. Deride; joke about; laugh at; ridicule. This word in the present tense and  اسۡتُهۡزِئَ  the word above in the passive voice are derivates from the same root. A/t/a, ‘mock at.’ However, ‘they mocked,’ ‘they mocked at,’ ‘they had mocked at,’ ‘they derided,’ ‘did deride,’ ‘they had derided’ and ‘scoffed at it’ in the past tense is no translation of what the Holy Qor-aan has stated in the present tense)
