اُنْظُرۡ كَيۡفَ كَذَبُوۡا عَلٰٓى اَنۡفُسِهِمۡ‌ وَضَلَّ عَنۡهُمۡ مَّا كَانُوۡا يَفۡتَرُوۡنَ

 

Oon-zoor-kai-fa-kuz-za-boo-alaa-un-fo-say-him-wa                                                                    Dzul-la-un-hoom-maa-kaa-noo-yuf-ta-roo-n

 

Look how they lied against themselves and                                                                    All they had been concocting was lost from them.

 

  • اُنْظُرۡ —  Oon-zoor — You look (= v., pres., s., 2nd person. Check out; find; get to view; look at; look out; observe; see; take notice; understand; view; watch for. A/t/a, ‘See,’ ‘Behold!,’ ‘Observe’ and ‘Look!’)
  • كَيۡفَ — Kai-fa — How (= How would it be, do or fare. What would it look. In what fashion, manner, method or way. Think of the time, event, occasion, opportunity or time)
  • كَذَّ بُوۡا — Kuz-za-boo — They lied (= v., past., pl., 3rd person. Denied; derided, denounced, disowned, opposed, misrepresented, negated; rejected. A/t/a, ‘they lie,’ ‘they shall lie’  and ‘they will lie’ but that in the present or future tense is no translation of what the Holy Qor-aan has described in the past tense)
  • عَلٰى — Alaa — Against (= Above; against; before;   during; for; on; on top of; over; to; upon)
  • اَنۡفُسِ — Un-fo-say — Selves (= n., pl., Hearts; individuals; minds; own sake; persons;  souls; themselves)
  • هِمۡ‌ — Him — Them (= pro., pl., m., 3rd person. Those men; they; theirs. A/t/a, ‘their own selves,’ ‘themselves’ and ‘own’)
  • وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; but; also; more over; though; when; while; yet. A/t/a, ‘But’)
  • ضَلَّ  — Dzul-la — Was lost (= v., past., s., 3rd person. Blundered; misguided; mistaken; strayed; turned in wrong direction or road. Also, fell flat and wasted. A/t/a, ‘hath failed them,’ ‘has failed’ and ‘has gone astray.’ But ‘forgetting in the present tense, or ‘the (lie) … will leave them in the lurch,’ ‘shall fail,’ ‘the deities … will fail’ and ‘will disappear’  in the future tense, are no translations of what the Holy Qor-aan has stated in the past tense)
  • عَنۡ — Un — From (= About; concerning; regarding; relative to)
  • هُمۡ‌ —  Hoom — Them (= pro., pl., m., 3rd person. Those men; they; theirs)
  • مَاۤ  — Maa — All that (= What; whatever; whatsoever; at such time; when. A/t/a, ‘all that,’ ‘that which.’ ‘the thing which,’ ‘those (associate-gods) which’  and ‘the (lie) which’)
  • كَانُوۡۤا — Kaa-noo — Had been (= v., past., s., m., 3rd person., Continued doing; used to; went on; were doing. Words has or had always been indicate endless continuity from the past to the present and leading into the future. A/t/a, ‘they used to and ‘is’)
  • يَفۡتَرُونَ — Yuf-ta-roon — They concocting (= v., pres., pl., 3rd person. Padding up lies to appear true. This word shows people pursuing for a bad result and not for any good outcome; see details in 003:025.  A/t/a, ‘fabricate’ and ‘forge.’ But ‘they invented,’ ‘they forged,’ ‘they devised,’ ‘they fabricated,’ ‘of their own invention’ and ‘they invented’ in the the past tense is no translation of what the Holy Qor-aan has stated in the present tense)
