اِنَّمَا يَسۡتَجِيۡبُ الَّذِيۡنَ يَسۡمَعُوۡنَ‌ ؕؔ  وَالۡمَوۡتٰى يَـبۡعَثُهُمُ اللّٰهُ  ثُمَّ اِلَيۡهِ يُرۡجَعُوۡنَ

 

In-na-maa-yus-ta-jee-bool-a-zee-na-yus-ma-oo-na                                                                Wul-mao-taa-yub-aa-tho-ho-mool-laa-ho                                                                                        Thoom-ma-elai-hay-toor-ja-oon

 

Most certainly those who hear do accept.                                                                            And Allah resurrects the dead.                                                                                                Then to Him they return.

 

  • اِنَّمَا — In-na-maa — Most certainly (= Combination of two words. The first word  اِنَّ (inna) means absolutely; definitely; doubtlessly; earnestly; indeed; positively; really; seriously; surely; truly; verily. The second word  مَاۤ  (maa) means all that, what; whatever. whatsoever. Thus اِنَّمَا (inna-maa) lays great emphasis on the statement that follows it as absolutely, positively and most certainly accurately. A/t/a, ‘Be sure,’ ‘Only those’ and ‘surely’)
  • يَسۡتَجِيۡبُ — Yus-ta-jee-b … (ol) — Accept (= v., pres., pl., 3rd person. Answer; reply; respond. A/t/a, ‘can accept,’ ‘can accept the truth,’ ‘will accept,’ ‘respond to Allah’s call,’ ‘respond (to the truth),’ ‘will respond (benefit from it),’ ‘respond’ and ‘will … answer’)
  • ٱلَّذِينَ — Ul-la-zee-na — Those who (= pl., m, 3rd person. Refers to those articles, persons,  or phenomenon or things in masculine gender)
  • يَسۡمَعُوۡنَ‌ — Yus-ma-oo-n — They hear (= v., pres., pl., 3rd person. Refers to a sound that is heard. They give an ear, heed, listen, pay attention or respond. A/t/a, ‘listen,’ ‘listen (in truth),’ ‘listen (to the message of Prophet Muhammad s.a.w),’ ‘can listen’ and ‘harken to the Message’)
  • وَ — Wa … (ul) — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses; additionally;  but; also; more over; though; when; while; yet. A/t/a, ‘As for the’ and ‘As to’)
  • الۡمَوۡتٰى — (Ul)-Mao-taa — The dead (= n. Those who have been dead and have no life. A/t/a, ‘for the (spiritually) dead’ and ‘the dead (disbelievers)’
  • يَـبۡعَثُ — Yub-aa-so — Resurrects (= v., pres., s., 3rd person. Brings life back; raises again; reincarnates; reinstates; restores; reverts; revives. Also, in some contexts this word means he appoints, arranges, assigns, authorizes, deputies, designates, dispatches, empowers, establishes, sends or sets. A/t/a, ‘will Raise … up,’ ‘will rase,’ ‘will raise … to life,’ ‘will raise them to life (after their being buried in graves)’ and ‘will bring them back to life’)
  • هُمۡ‌ — Ho-m … (ol) — Them (= pro., pl., m., 3rd person. Those men; they; theirs)
  • اللّٰهُ — Laa-ho — Allah (= The One and the Only One Almighty God)
  • ثُمَّ — Thoom-ma — Then (= After that; further more; subsequently; thereafter)
  • اِلَيۡ — E-lai — To (= In the direction of; to; towards. A/t/a, ‘unto’)
  • هِ — Hay — His (= pro., s., m., 3rd person. Refers to the Almighty God)
  • يُرۡجَعُوۡنَ‏ — Yoor-ja-oon — They return (= v., pres. passive., Will be brought back, or made to return or reverse to the correct course, proper path and right road. A/t/a, ‘will be returned,’ ‘they will be returned (for their recompense),’ ‘will they Be turned unto,’ shall be returned,’ ‘they shall be made to return to Him,’ ‘they shall all return,’ ‘shell they be brought back’ and ‘they shall be brought’)
