بَلۡ اِيَّاهُ تَدۡعُوۡنَ فَيَكۡشِفُ مَا تَدۡعُوۡنَ اِلَيۡهِ اِنۡ شَآءَ وَتَنۡسَوۡنَ مَا تُشۡرِكُوۡنَ

 

Bul-ey-yaa-ho-tud-oo-na                                                                                                                      Fa-yuk-shay-fo-maa-tud-oo-na-elay-hay-in-shaa-aa                                                                    Wa-tun-sao-na-maa-toosh-ray-koo-n

 

The fact is that you pray to only Him                                                                                Then He opens  all that for which you pray – if He chose –                                    And you forget all that you associate with Him.

 

  • بَلۡ — Ba … ( ul) — The fact is (= Aye; but; but the truth is; however; indeed; instead; in truth; nay; nevertheless; of course; on the contrary; rather; really; truthfully; verily; yea but; yes indeed. A/t/a, ‘Nay, but,’ ‘Indeed no, in such an event,’ ‘No indeed’ and ‘No’)
  • اِيَّا — Ee-yaa — Only (= Alone; excluding any and all others. A/t/a, ‘alone,’ ‘but unto’ and  ‘upon’)
  • هُ — Ho — Him (= pro., s., m., 3rd person. Refers to the Almighty God)
  • تَدۡعُوۡنَ‌ — Tud-oo-na — You pray (= v., pres., pl., 2nd person. Call for help; pray; see help. A/t/a, ‘would ye Call,’ ‘you would call,’ ‘ye call,’ ‘you call upon,’ ‘will you call’,’ ‘you will call on,’ ‘you will call upon’ and ‘you will call’)
  • فَ  — Fa — Then (= After all this; at the end; consequently; finally; hence; so; thereafter; therefore; thus. A/t/a, ‘then’ and ‘and’)
  • يَكۡشِفُ — Yuk-shay-fo — He opens (= v., pres., s., 3rd person. Grants the prayer; resolves the issue; solves the problem. A/t/a, ‘He would remove (The distress),’ ‘He removes,’ ‘He would remove,’ ‘He removeth,’ ‘will He remove,’ ‘He will … relieve (you),’ ‘He will avert the affliction’ and ‘He will relieve’)
  • مَاۤ — Maa — All that (= What; whatever; whatsoever; at such time; when. A/t/a, ‘that which,’ ‘for,’ ‘because of which’ and ‘that (distress)’
  • تَدۡعُوۡنَ‌ — Tud-oo-na — You pray (= v., pres., pl., 2nd person. Call for help; pray; see help. A/t/a, ‘which occasioned your call,’ ‘you call on Him to remove,’ ‘you call on Him to remove,’ ‘that distress for (the removal of) which you called upon Him,’ ‘you call upon’ and ‘your affliction’)
  • اِلَيۡ — E-lai — To (= In the direction of; to; towards. A/t/a, ‘upon’ and unto’)
  • هِ — Hay — It (= pro., s., m., 3rd person. Refers to the aforesaid thing. A/t//a, ‘which’ and ‘for which’)
  • اِنۡ — In — If (= In case; under the circumstances; when; whenever. A/t/a, ‘if it be’)
  • شَآءَ — Shaa-aa — He chose (= v., past., s., 3rd person. Allowed; approved; decided;  decreed; determined; dictated; enforced; liked; planned; permitted; pleased; preferred; selected; sanctioned; willed. The meanings ‘desired, wanted or wished’ do not apply relative to the Almighty God Who has all control, power and will to implement instantly what He intends. A/t/a, ‘He please,’ ‘He pleases,’ ‘He wills’ and ‘He will’ but that in the present tense is no  translation of what the Holy Qor-aan has stated in the past tense)
  • وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; but; also; more over; though; when; while; yet. A/t/a, ‘then’)
  • تَنۡسَوۡنَ — Tun-sao-na — You forget (= v., pres., pl., 2nd person. Become oblivious; ignore;  neglect. A/t/a, ‘ye would forget,’ ‘you would forget at that time,’ ‘you … will forget,’ ‘ye forget,’ ‘you will forget’and  ‘you will abandon’)
  • مَاۤ — Maa — All that (= All that, what, whatever. See  مَاۤ   above)
  • تُشۡرِكُونَ — Toosh-ray-koon You set up partners (= n., pl., You allege, ascribe, assert, associate, attribute, hold, join, set up or worship any equal or kind of partner to the Almighty God. You become idolater, Polytheist or an Unbelieving pagan. A/t/a, ‘(The false god) which ye Join with Him,’ ‘those (false gods) you associate with Him.’  ‘whatever partners ye ascribed unto Him,’ ‘partners you joined (with Him in worship),’ ‘what you associate with Him,’ ‘those you have associated with Him.’ ‘you set up (with Him)’ and ‘your idols’)
