The Holy Qor-aan                                                                                                                  006:048

 

قُلۡ اَرَءَيۡتَكُمۡ اِنۡ اَتٰٮكُمۡ عَذَابُ اللّٰهِ بَغۡتَةً اَوۡ جَهۡرَةً هَلۡ يُهۡلَكُ اِلَّا الۡقَوۡمُ الظّٰلِمُوۡنَ

 

Qool-aa-ra-aye-ta-koom-in-aa-ta-koom                                                                                          Aa-zaa-bool-laa-hay-bugh-ta-tun-auo-jah-ra-ton                                                                       Hul-yoh-la-ko-il-lul-qao-mooz-za-lay-moom

 

Say, “Have you seen if came upon you                                                                                 The wrath of Allah suddenly or openly.                                                                          Will anyone except the wrongdoing folks be destroyed?

 

The text in the next three (3) words is in verses 006:048, 006:047 and 006:041. 

  • قُلۡ — Qool — Say (= v., s, 2nd person. Announce; broadcast; call; command; convey; explain; inform; insist; instruct; maintain; mandate; order; preach; proclaim; profess; propagate; state; teach; tell. See Note 112:002 and Commentary ‘You say’ means. A/t/a, ‘Ask them’ and ‘what think ye’) 
  • اَ — Aa — Have (= Word asking a question like are, can, could, do, did, have, shell, should, will, would, what, etc.)
  • رَءَيۡتَ — Ra-aye-ta — You seen (= v., past., s., 2nd person. Considered; knew; noticed;  observed; thought of; witnessed. A/t/a, ‘Did you ever consider,’ ‘Think ye,’ ‘Tell me,’ ‘see yourself’ and ‘Consider then’)
  • كُمۡ  — Koom — You (= pro., pl., 2nd person. You all men. The Holy Qor-aan addresses men and women jointly this way generally)
  • اِنۡ — In  — If (= In case; under the circumstances; when; whenever)
  • اَتٰ — Aa-taa — Reached (= v., past, s., 3rd person. Arrived; blessed; rewarded. A/t/a, ‘were to overtake’ and ‘overtook.’ However, ‘Tell me,’ ‘comes,’ ‘come upon,’ ‘comes to’ and ‘overtakes’ in the present tense is no translation of what the Holy Qor-aan has stated with a present tense)
  • كُمۡ — Koom — You (= pro., pl., 2nd person. You all men. See  كُمۡ above)
  • عَذَابُ  Azaa-b … (ol)  — Punishment (= Appropriate, due and fair agony, chastisement,  doom, hard task, penalty, punishment, recompense; scourge, torment or torture)
  • اللّٰهِ —  Laa-hay — Allah (= The One and the Only One Almighty God)
  • بَغۡتَةً — Bugh-ta-ton — Suddenly (= adv., Abruptly. Startlingly. Suddenly. Surprisingly.   Unexpectedly. Unpredictably. A/t/a, ‘without presage or visibility,’ ‘suddenly (during the night),’ ‘unaware’ and ‘unawares’)
  • اَوۡ — Auo — Or (= Alternatively; in substitution)
  • جَهۡرَةً — Jah-ra-yon — Openly (= adv., Bluntly. Clearly. Frankly. Loudly. Manifestly.  Pliably. With a big bang. A/t/a, ‘openly (during the day)’ and ‘(after) manifest (warnings)’
  • هَلۡ — Hull — Will (= Word asking a question like are, can, could, do, did,   have, shell, should, will, would, what, etc.)
  • يُهۡلَكُ — Yoh-laa-ko — Be destroyed (= v., pres., pass., 3rd person. Annihilated; destroyed; ended, killed; perish; ruined. A/t/a, ‘any be destroyed’ and ‘any perish’)
  • اَلَّا — Il-la … (ul) — Except (= Nothing but; save; ‘but.’)
  • الۡقَوۡمِ — Qao-may … (iz) — People (= n., s., Addressees; attendees; fellows; followers;   folks; nation; party; people; tribe. A/t/a, ‘folk’)
  • الظّٰلِمُوۡنَ — Zaa-lay-moo-n — Wrongdoers   (= n., pl., Bad people. Criminals. Culprits. Doers of harm, hurt or injury. Evil doers. Polytheists. Transgressors. Those who commit, do, practice, repeat or habitually pursue the evil and cause grievous wrongs to others. Unfair. Unjust. Violators. Wicked. A/t/a, ‘those who do wrong,’ ‘wrongdoing,’ ‘the transgressing,’ ‘the transgressors’ and ‘Zalimin (polytheists and wrongdoing)’
