The Holy Qor-aan                                                                                                                   006:091

 

اُولٰٓٮِٕكَ الَّذِيۡنَ هَدَى اللّٰهُ‌ فَبِهُدٰٮهُمُ اقۡتَدِهۡ ‌ؕ قُلْ لَّاۤ اَسۡــَٔلُكُمۡ عَلَيۡهِ اَجۡرًا ‌ ؕ اِنۡ هُوَ اِلَّا ذِكۡرٰى لِلۡعٰلَمِيۡنَ

 

O-laa-aiy-kul-la-zee-na-ha-dul-laa-ho                                                                                              Fa-bay-ho-da-ho-mooq-ta-deh                                                                                                        Qool-laa-us-aa-lo-koom-alai-hay-uj-run                                                                                          In-ho-wa-il-laa-zik-raa-lil-aa-la-mee-n

 

These are those that Allah has guided.                                                                               So, from their Guidance you follow.                                                                               Say, “I don’t ask you for any reward for it.                                                                        This surely is nothing but a reminder for all creation.” 

 

  • اُولٰٓٮِٕكَ — O-laa-aiy-ka — All of these (= Acts; facts, items, persons or things A/t/a, ‘these were the (Prophets),’ These are,’ ’These it is’ and ‘It is these’)
  • ٱلَّذِينَ — Ul-la-zee-na — Those who (= pl., m, 3rd person. Refers to those articles, persons or or phenomenon in masculine gender. A/t/a, ‘the ones whom,’ ‘they whom,’ ‘those   whom’ and ‘whom’)
  • هَدَى — Ha-da … (ul) — Guided (= v., past., m., s. 3rd person. Coddled on correct course; directed accurately towards the best way; gave the best direction; guided to and led on the linier lines; put on the proper path; showed the right road. A/t/a, ‘guided aright, ‘has guided’ and ‘had guided.’ But the present tense in ‘guideth’ and the verb in the passive voice and the noun in ‘Who received God’s guidance’ are no translations of the text in the Holy Qor-aan)
  • اللّٰهُ‌ — Laa-ho — Allah (= The One and the Only One Almighty God)
  • فَ — Fa — So (= After all this; at the end; consequently; finally; hence; in conclusion; so; then; thereafter; therefore; thus)
  • بِ  — Bay — With (= Literally the word بِ  means with)
  • هُدٰ — Ho-daa — Guidance (= n., See هَدَى above for the meanings of this derivate)
  • هُمُ — Ho-mo …. (oq) Their (= pro., pl., m., 3rd person. Those men; they; theirs)
  • اقۡتَدِ — Ooq-ta-de … (h) — You follow (= v., pres., 2nd person. Follow the lead; reap benefit; take advantage. A/t/a, ‘do thou follow,’ ‘follow thou’ and ‘Copy the guidance they received’)
  • هۡ — Eh — It (= pro., s., m., 3rd person. Refers to aforesaid guidance)
  • قُلۡ — Qool — Say (= v., pres., s, 2nd person. Announce, assure; call; convey; explain; inform; insist; preach; proclaim; profess; propagate; specify, state; tell. See Note 112:002 and Commentary ‘You say’ means‘. A/t/a, ‘Say to these people’ and ‘Say (O Muhammad, unto mankind)’
  • لَا — Laa — Do not (= Naught; neither; never; none; nor; not at all; absolute denial and total negation without exception)
  • اَسۡــَٔـلُ — Us-aa-loo — I ask (= v., pres., s., 1st person. Beseech; beg; implore; pray; Seek. Some contexts warrant the meanings of craving, desiring or wishing to have. A/t/a, ‘I  demand’)
  • كُمۡ — Koom — You (= pro., pl., 2nd person. You. The Holy Qor-aan has often used this word for both men and women. A/t/a, ‘of you’)
  • عَلَيۡ — Alai — For (= Above; against; before; during; for; on; on top of; over)
  • هِ — Hay — It (= pro., s., 3rd person. Refers to a reward for good deeds. A/t/a, ‘this (the Quran)’ and ‘bringing this (guidance)’
  • اَجۡرًا — Uj-run — Reward (= n., s. Award; compensation; good result; gracious gift; honor; prize; recognition; recompense; reimbursement; remuneration; reward; trophy. A/t/a, ‘fee’)
  • اِنۡ — In — Surely (= Absolutely; definitely; doubtlessly; indeed; positively; truly; verily)
  • هُوَ — Ho-wa — This (= pro., s., m., 3rd person. He; him; it; this thing or person. A/t/a, ‘It is’ and ‘This is’)
  • اَلَّا — Il-laa — Nothing but (= Except; saving. A/t/a, ‘This is no less than,’ ‘naught but,’ ‘nought but,’ ‘nothing but,’ ‘but’ and ‘only’)
  • ذِكۡرٰى — Zik-raa — Reminder (= n., Admonition; refreshing memory; bringing to or  drawing attention; reminder; reminding. Helping  someone to recall and remember something forgotten. Jogging memory. Making another aware. Urging another to remember. Warning. Also, recalling; recollection; reflection’ remembrance; remembrance; remembering. A/t/a, ‘A message’ and ‘admonition’)
  • لِلۡ — L … (il) — For / to (= Concerning, regarding; relative to; intended for; to; towards. A/t/a, ‘for’ and ‘to’)
  • الۡعٰلَمِيۡنَۙ‏ — Aa-la-meen — The Worlds (= n., pl., In relation to man the word implies being limited to time and place. It means the Worlds, the whole world of the Age, nations of the time, contemporaries in towns or territory of a known period, and people in given cities or countries. See Note 001:002. A/t/a, ‘the nations,’ ‘all mankind,’ ‘(His) creatures’ and ‘the Alamin (mankind and jinn)’
