The Holy Qor-aan 006:098
وَهُوَ الَّذِىۡ جَعَلَ لَـكُمُ النُّجُوۡمَ لِتَهۡتَدُوۡا بِهَا فِىۡ ظُلُمٰتِ الۡبَرِّ وَالۡبَحۡرِؕ قَدۡ فَصَّلۡنَا الۡاٰيٰتِ لِقَوۡمٍ يَّعۡلَمُوۡنَ
Wa-ho-wul-la-zee-ja-aa-la-la-ko-moon-no-joo-ma Lay-tah-ta-do-bay-haa-fee-zo-lo-maa-til-bur-ray-wul-bah-ray Qud-fus-sul-nul-aa-yaa-tay-lay-qao-min-yau-la-moo-n
And He is the One who has made for you the stars For guiding yourself with it in the darkness of the land and the water. We surely have explained the Signs for the knowing people.
The following are the first three words of verses 006:098, 006:099 and 006:100
- وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; but; also; more over; though; when; while; yet)
- هُوَ — Ho-wa … (ul) — He (= pro., s., m., 3rd person. He; him; it. Refers to aforesaid shown, specified or stated article, thing or person. A/t/a, ‘It is He,’ ‘He it is’ and ‘God is the One’)
- الَّذِىۡ — La-zee — He who (= s., m., 3rd person. Article, thing, person or phenomenon in masculine gender. A/t/a, ‘that’)
- جَعَلَ — Ja-aa-la — He made (= v., past., s., 3rd person., Appointed; brought into being; created; designed; fashioned; made; produced; set up. A/t/a, ‘maketh,’ ‘hath set up,’ ‘set out,’ ‘set’ and ‘has created’)
- لَ — La — For (= Because of; concerning; due to; for the object, purpose or reason of; intended for; on account of; regarding; relative to; belonging to; to; towards)
- كُمُ — Ko-mo … (on) — You (= pro., pl., 2nd person. You all men. The Holy Qor-aan addresses men and women jointly this way generally)
- النُّجُوۡمَ — Na-joo-ma — Stars (= n., pl., The innumerable astronomical objects which are visible as tiny bright but flickering points of light in sky and collectively provide a dim glow on clear nights and are the source of faint light. The gaseous masses in space that generate energy by thermonuclear reactions, e.g., sun. A/t/a, ‘The stars (as beacons)’
- لِ — Lay — For (= For the object, purpose or reason of. See لَ above. A/t/a, ‘so that’ and ‘that’)
- تَهۡتَدُوۡا — Tuh-ta-doo — Guiding yourself (= v., pres., 2nd person. Going rightly and properly on correct course, proper path or true track. A/t/a, ‘you might follow the right way, ’ ‘you may follow the right direction,’ ’you may follow the right guidance,’ ‘you may follow the right course,‘ ‘you may guide your course,’ ‘ye may guide your course,’ ‘ye may guide yourself’ and ‘they may guide you’)
- بِهَا — Bay-haa — With it (= Combination of two words. The 1st word is بِ (bay) that means with, though some contexts show that the English proposition ‘in’ is also suitable. The 2nd word هَا (haa) is a pronoun for a single female in 3rd person that refers to the aforesaid person, thing or event as it. A/t/a, The combination has also been translated as ‘thereby,’ ‘with their help,’ ‘by them’ and ‘that they’)
- فِىۡ — Fee — In (= Amidst. Contained or inside a duration, event, place, period, person, phenomenon, situation, thing or time. See Note 002:028. A/t/a, ‘amid’ and ‘Through’)
- ظُلُمٰتِ — Zolo-maa-t … (il) — Darkness (= n., pl. Layer upon layer of darkness; abysmal darkness; all and every kind of darkness; deep darkness; depth of darkness; difference shades of darkness; pitch dark; several zones of thick, total and utter darkness. Physical and spiritual darkness. A/t/a, ‘the dark spaces’ and ‘deep darkness’)
- الۡبَـرِّ — Bur-ray — The land (= n. Ground)
- وَ — Wa … (ul) — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ above)
- الۡبَحۡرِ — Bauh-ray — Ocean (= n., s., Big body of water; big lakes like the Sea of Aral; lakes; rivers; seas; stream; shallow beach subject to huge rise and fall of ocean-water with every waxing and waning. A/t/a, ‘sea’)
The message in the next six (6) words is repeated in 006:098 and 006:099
- قَدۡ — Qud — Surely (= This word lays emphasis like very definitely; surely. See Note 004:049 and our Commentary titled the 2 Words of Emphasis used together Multiply Effect. A/t/a, ‘indeed’ and ‘certainly’)
- فَصَّلۡ — Fus-sul — Explained (= v., past., pl., 1st person. Discerned; distinguished good from bad; elaborated; sorted Out A/t/a, ‘explained … in detail,’ ‘detailed,’ ‘made plain’ and ‘have expounded … in detail’)
- نَآ — Naa … (ul) — We (= pro., pl., 1st person. Our; Us. Used with God’s name this plural is the authoritative way a higher-up talks)
- الۡاٰيٰتِ — Aa-ya-tay — The Signs (= n., pl of … An argument, corroboration, indication, insinuation, pointer, portent, prof, sign, suggestion, symbol or token. See Note 002:074. A/t/a, ‘Our Signs,’ ‘(Our) commandments,’ ‘Our revelations’ and ‘Our Ayat ‘(proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, sigs, revelations, etc.)’
