The Holy Qor-aan                                                                                                                   006:105

 

قَدۡ جَآءَكُمۡ بَصَآٮِٕرُ مِنۡ رَّبِّكُمۡ ‌ۚ فَمَنۡ اَبۡصَرَ فَلِنَفۡسِهٖ‌ ۚ وَمَنۡ عَمِىَ فَعَلَيۡهَا‌  ؕ وَمَاۤ اَنَا عَلَيۡكُمۡ بِحَفِيۡظٍ

 

Qud-jaa-aa-koom-ba-saa-aiy-ro-min-rub-bay-koom                                                                    Fa-mun-ub-sa-ra-fa-lay-nuf-say-he                                                                                                  Wa-mun-aa-may-ya-fa-aa-lai-haa                                                                                                    Wa-maa-aa-na-aa-lai-koom-bay-ha-fee-z

 

Visions surely came to you from your God.                                                                    So, whoever saw them was for his own self.                                                                And whoever turned blind was to his detriment.                                                        And I am not a protector covering over you.

 

  • قَدۡ — Qud — Surely (= This word lays emphasis like very definitely; surely; verily. See Note 004:049. A/t/a, ‘Now,’ ’indeed,’ ‘(Say,) There has already’ and ‘Verily’)
  • جَآءَ — Jaa-aa — Came (= v., past., s., 3rd person. Arrived; reached; returned. Also, in different contexts the word can mean achieved, brought, delivered, settled or succeeded. A/t/a, ‘have come,’ ‘have … come,’ ‘have come unto’ and ‘come’)
  • كُمۡ — Koom — You (= pro., pl., 2nd person. You all men. The Holy Qor-aan addresses men and women jointly this way generally)
  • بَصَآٮِٕرُ — Ba-saa-aiy-ro — The visions (= n., pl., Eyes. It refers to the ability to see, comprehend and understand. A spherical organ with light-sensitivity and cone cells in the retina, which is responsible for converting light into impulses that are transmitted to the brain to interpret. A/t/a, ‘proofs (To open your eyes),’ ‘clear proofs,’ ‘Proofs,’ ‘enlightenment and clear proofs’ and ‘momentous signs’)
  • مِنۡ — Min(r) — From (= Among, from or out of the class or category of several articles, counts, kind, things, persons or phenomenon)
  • رَّبِّ — Rub-bay — Lord Provident (= The Almighty Allah who fills all needs of all His creatures. Cherisher. Creator. Guardian. Lord Provident. Master. The Only One Who provides all that sustains life. Ultimate Provider of air, water, food and whatever we and all other creatures need to live and subsist)
  • كُمۡ — Koom — Your (= pro., pl., 2nd person. You all men. See  كُمۡ  above)
  • فَ — Fa — So (= After all this; at the end; consequently; finally; hence; so; thereafter; therefore; thus. A/t/a, ‘then’ and ‘If’)
  • مَنۡ — Mun — Whoever (= Anyone; whomever; whoso. A/t/a, ‘He that’)
  • اَبۡصَرَ — Ub-sa-ra — Saw (= v., past., s., 3rd person., Exercised vision. Observed. Paid heed. Paid attention. Took notice. Used his eyes. See بَصَآ ٮِٕر  above. A/t/a, ‘sees,’ ‘seeth,’ ‘sees clearly (and is enlightened),’ ‘comprehends,’ ‘sees clearly,’ ‘sees them’ and ‘will see’ but all that in the present or future tense is no translation of what the Holy Qor-aan has stated in the past tense)
  • فَ — Fa — Then (= See  فَ  above. A/t/a, ‘It will be’ and ‘it is’)
  • لِ — Lay — For (= For the object, person, purpose or reason of; intended for; meant for; concerning; regarding; relative to. A/t/a, ‘for (the good Of),’ ‘it is he who will gain,’ ‘will do so for (the good of)’ and ‘shall have much to gain’)
  • نَفۡسِ — Nuf-say — Self (= n., s., An individual’s inner-most, heart, mind or soul. A/t/a, ‘own good,’ ‘ownself’ and ‘own benefit’)
  • هٖ — He — His  (= pro., s., m., 3rd person. Refers to the aforesaid person)
  • وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; but; also; more over; though; when; while; yet)
  • مَنۡ — Mun — Who (= See  مَنۡ  above. A/t/a, ‘any’ and ‘he who’)
  • عَمِىَ– Aa-may-ya — Blinded (= v., past., s., 3rd person. Acted, pretended, or really became and turned blind. did not see. A/t/a, ‘ignores,’ ‘is blind,’ ‘becomes blind,’ ‘chooses to remain blind,’ ‘blinds himself’ and ‘will be blind’ but all that in the present or future tense is no translation of what the Holy Qor-aan has stated in the past tense)
  • فَ —  Fa –Then (= See  فَ  above. A/t/a, ‘It will be’)
  • عَلَيۡ — Alai — On (= Above; against; for; on; on top of; over. A/t/a, ‘to his own harm,’ ‘to his own loss,’ ‘to his own hurt,’ ’it is he who is at loss,’ ‘shall lose much indeed’ and ‘will do so to his own harm’)
  • هَا — Haa —  It (= pro., s., f., 3rd person., Refers to aforesaid group)
  • وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ  above)
  • مَاۤ  — Maa — Not (= Never; no; not; not at all)
  • اَنَا — Aa-naa — I  (= v., s., 1st person. I; me. A/t/a, ‘I (Muhammad s.a.w)’
  • عَلَيۡ — Alai — On (= Above; against; over. See  عَلَيۡ  above. )
  • كُمۡ — Koom — You (= pro., pl., 2nd person. You all men. See  كُمۡ  above. A/t/a, ‘your’)
  • بِ — Bay — With (= Literally the word  بِ   means with)
  • حَفِيۡظٍ — Ha-fee-z — Protector (= n., One who really guards and protects. Keeps secrets. A/t/a, ‘keeper,’ ‘guardian,’ ‘a watcher,’ ‘(here) To watch over your doings’ and ‘guardian over you (as I should ward off all evil by force)’
