The Holy Qor-aan 006:137
وَجَعَلُوۡا لِلّٰهِ مِمَّا ذَرَاَ مِنَ الۡحَـرۡثِ وَالۡاَنۡعَامِ نَصِيۡبًا فَقَالُوۡا هٰذَا لِلّٰهِ بِزَعۡمِهِمۡ وَهٰذَا لِشُرَكَآٮِٕنَا ۚ فَمَا كَانَ لِشُرَكَآٮِٕهِمۡ فَلَا يَصِلُ اِلَى اللّٰهِ ۚ وَمَا كَانَ لِلّٰهِ فَهُوَ يَصِلُ اِلٰى شُرَكَآٮِٕهِمۡ ؕ سَآءَ مَا يَحۡكُمُوۡنَ
Wa ja-aa-loo lil laa-hay mim-maa za-ra-aa May-nul hur-thay wul un-aa-may na-see-bun
Fa qaa-loo haa-zaa lil laa-hay bay zau-may him Wa haa-zaa lay sho-ra-kaa-aiy naa
Fa maa kaa-na lay sho-ra-kaa-aiy him Fa laa ya-say-lo e-lul laa-hay Wa maa kaa-na lil laa-hay fa ho-wa Ya say-lo elaa sho-ra-kaa-aiy him Saa-aa maa yah-ka-moo-n
And they made for Allah out of what He produced From the crops and the cattle a share.
Then they said, “This is for Allah — with just their claim — And this is for our partners we have set up.
What has been for their alleged Partners Then that does not reach Allah. And what has been for Allah Then reaches their alleged Partners. How evil is what they decide?

- جَعَلُوۡا — Ja-aa-loo — They made (= v., past., pl., 3rd person. Appointed; brought into being; created; designed; fashioned; made; produced; set up. A/t/a, ‘assigned.’ But the present tense in ‘set apart,’ ‘assign,’ ‘set aside,’ ‘allocate’ and ‘appoint’ is not a translation of what the Holy Qor-aan has stated in the past tense)
- لِ — Lay — For (= For the object, person, purpose or reason of; intended for; meant for; on account of; concerning; regarding; relative to. A/t/a, ‘unto’ and ‘to’)
- اللّٰهِ — Laa-hay — Allah (= The One and the Only One Almighty God)
- مِمَّا — Mim-maa — Out of what (= Combination of two words. The first word مِنۡ (min) means among, from or out of the class, category, kind count or several persons or things. The second word مَاۤ (maa) means all that, what or whatever. See 002:203. A/t/a, ‘of,’ ‘out of’ and ‘which’)
- ذَرَاَ — Za-ra-aa — He produced (= v., past., s., 3rd person. Grew by cultivation; nourished; raised; sprouted. A/t/a, ‘produced in abundance,’ ‘He has produced,’ ‘He has created’ and ‘He created.’ But the present tense in ‘He produces’ has not translated what the Holy Qor-aan stated in past tense)
- مِنَ — May-nul — From (= Among, from or out of the class or category of several articles, counts, kind, things, persons or phenomenon)
- الۡحَـرۡثِ — Hur-thay — The crops (= n., Agriculturally cultivated and harvested edible plants and produce. Fruits. Vegetables. Also, cropland, fields, plantations, tillage, vineyards. A/t/a, ‘tilth,’ ‘tillage’ and ‘their produce’)
- وَ — Wa … (ul) — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ above)
- الۡاَنۡعَامِ — Un-aa-may — The cattle (= n., pl., Class, kind or type of … cattle such as buffalo, camel, cow, deer, horse, mule, etc. Domesticated edible four-legged animals. Quadruped)
- نَصِيۡبًا — Na-see-bun — Share (= n., Part; portion; section)
- فَ — Fa — Then (= Consequently; so; thereafter; therefore; then; thus; yet. A/t/a, ‘and’)
- قَالُوۡا — Qaa-loo — They said (= v., past, pl., 3rd person. Announced, broadcast; called; conveyed; informed; maintained, proclaimed; stated; professed; propagated; told. See Commentary ”You say’ mean …” A/t/a, ‘They say’ and ‘saying’ but that in the present tense is no translation of the past tense that the Holy Qor-aan has used)
- هٰذَا — Haa-zaa — This (= This particularly pointed out; present right here; what is in front of you. A/t/a, ‘so much’)
- لِ — Lay — For (= For the object, person, purpose or reason of; intended for; meant for; on account of; concerning; regarding; relative to)
- اللّٰهِ — Laa-hay — Allah (= The One and the Only One Almighty God)
The phrase in the next three (3) is repeated in 006:137 and 006:139
- بِ — Bay — With (= Literally the word بِ means with. A/t/a, ‘so,’ ‘as,’ ‘out of’ and ‘according to’)
- زَعۡمِ –Zau-may — Claim (= n., Claim; conjecture; guesswork; imagination; mind; thought. A/t/a, ‘claim’ and ‘fancies.’ But the verb as in ‘assert,’ ‘imagine’ and ‘pretend’ has not translated the noun that the Holy Qor-aan has used)
- هِمۡ — Him — Their (= pro., pl., m., 3rd person. Those men; they theirs)
- وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ above)
- هٰذَا — Haa-zaa — This (= What is pointed out or present right. See هٰذَا above)
- لِ — Lay — For (= For the object, person, purpose. See لِ above. A/t/a, ‘set apart for’)
- شُرَكَآءٍ — Sho-ra-kaa-aiy — Partners (= n., pl. Associates; peers; sharers. A/t/a, ‘idols,’ ‘associate-gods,’ ‘gods (we associate with Allah),’ ‘(Allah’s so-called) partners’ and ‘partners we associate’)
- نَآ — Naa — Our (= pro., pl., 1st person. Our; Us. Used with God’s name this plural is the authoritative way a higher-up talks)

A/t/a, ‘they judge.’ But jthe nouns as in ‘their assignment’ and ‘their judgment’ are no translations of the verb with which the Holy Qor-aan has described how they act)
