The Holy Qor-aan                                                                                                               006:138

 

وَكَذٰلِكَ زَيَّنَ لِكَثِيۡـرٍ مِّنَ الۡمُشۡرِكِيۡنَ قَـتۡلَ اَوۡلَادِهِمۡ شُرَكَآؤُهُمۡ لِيُرۡدُوۡهُمۡ وَلِيَلۡبِسُوۡا عَلَيۡهِمۡ دِيۡنَهُمۡ‌ ۚ وَلَوۡ شَآءَ اللّٰهُ مَا فَعَلُوۡهُ ‌ؕ فَذَرۡهُمۡ وَمَا يَفۡتَرُوۡنَ‏

 

Wa  ka-zaa-lay-ka  zuy-ya-na                                                                                                              Lay  ka-the-rim  may-nul  moosh-ray-kee-na                                                                              Qut-la  auo-laa-day  him                                                                                                                        Sho-ra-kaa-o  hoom                                                                                                                            Lay  yur-doo  hoom  wa                                                                                                                        Lay  yul-bay-soo  alai-him  dee-na  hoom

Wa  lao  shaa-ul-laa-ho  maa  fa-aa-loo  ho                                                                                    Fa  zur  him  wa  maa  yuf-ta-roo-n

 

And like this beautified                                                                                                            For many of the idolaters is                                                                                                     The killing of their children                                                                                                    By their pretend gods                                                                                                                For they seek ruining them and                                                                                              For imposing upon them their religion.

And if Allah chose, they would not have done that.                                                        So, leave them and what they are concocting.

 

  • وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; but; also; more over; though; when; while; yet)
  • كَذٰلِكِ — Ka-zaa-lay-ka — Like this (= Combines two words.  كَ  means ‘example, like, identical resembling, similar.’  ذٰلِكَ  means ‘all this right in here and refers to an aforesaid event, fact, person or statement. The combination means ‘even so’, ‘so it will be’, ‘such is the way of Allah’, ‘the same way’, ‘that is how’, this way.’ A/t/a, ‘thus,’ ‘In like manner,’ ‘even so,’ ‘so’ and ‘Just (as their associate gods turned the polytheists away from Allah)’
  • زَيَّنَ — Zuy-ya-na — Beautified (= v., past., s., 3rd person. Made or turned to appear fair  seeming, attractive, beautiful, captivating, charming, covetous, decorative, desirable, enchanting, enticing, look good, lucrative, luring, nice or tempting. A/t/a, ‘made alluring,’ ‘made fair-seeming,’ ‘made … appear pleasing,’ ‘have …  made … appear beautiful,’ ‘have … made … seem fair,’ ‘to seem fair,’ ‘have induced’ and ‘so did they make … seem fair’)
  • لِ — Lay — For (= For the object, person, purpose or reason of; intended for; meant for; on account of; concerning; regarding; relative to. A/t/a, ‘in the eyes of,’ ‘unto’ and ‘to’)
  • كَثِيۡرٍ — Ka-thee-rin — Many of (= adj., Abundant; ample; big, great or large in number; in exceeding quality or quantity; great deal; heaps; lots of; many; more; most or much of’ plenty; overflowing; plump; repetitious; several times. A/t/a, ‘most of’ and ‘a large number of the polytheists’)
  • مِّنَ  — May-n … (ul) — From (= Among, from or out of the class or category of several articles, counts, kind, things, persons or phenomenon. A/t/a, ‘of’)
  • الۡمُشۡرِكِيۡنَ — Moosh-ray-ke-na — Idolaters (= n., m., pl., Those who set up equals, partners, peers etc., with the Almighty God. Men who ascribe or associate and worship imaginary gods with the Almighty God. Unbelieving pagan men. See Note 004:037. A/t/a, ‘Pagans’ )
  • قَـتۡلَ — Quta-la — Killing (= n., Killing; massacre; mayhem; murder; slaughter; slaying. A/t/a, ‘to kill’ and ‘(even so monstrous a deed as) the killing’)
  • اَوۡلَادِ — Auo-laa-day — Children (= n., Boys and girls; family; progeny)
  • هِمۡ — Him — Their (= pro., pl., m., 3rd person. Those men; they; theirs)
  • شُرَكَآؤُ — Sho-ra-kaa-o — Pretend-gods (= n., pl. Associates; partners; peers; sharers. Here the ref is to the alleged, pretended or so-called partners of God. A/t/a, ‘associate-gods,’ ‘those they associate with Allah,’ ‘(so-called) partners (of Allah),’ ‘(Allah’s so-called) partners’ and ‘idols’)
  • هُمۡ — Hoom — Their (= pro., pl., m., 3rd person. Those men; they; theirs)
  • لِ — Lay — For (= For the object, person, purpose. Se e لِ  above. A/t/a, ‘In order to lead them to,’ ‘that they may,’ ‘to’ and ‘with the result that’)
  • يُرۡدُوۡ  — Yoor-doo — They seek (= v., pres., s., 3rd person. Decide, determine or seek to ruin and destroy. A/t/a, ‘cause them to perish,’ ‘ruin’ and ‘destroy.’ But the noun in ‘destruction’ is no translation of the verb with which the Holy Qor-aan has described how wrongdoers always work)
  • هُمۡ — Hoom — Them (= pro., pl., m., 3rd person. Those men; they. A/t/a, ‘their own’)
  • وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ   above)
  • لِ — Lay — For (= For the object, person, purpose. See لِ  above)
  • يَلۡبِسُوۡا — Yul-bay-soo — They Dress up (= v., pres., pl., 3rd person. Clothe up, dress up or put on the garb; conceal; cover. Also, force; impose; thrust. A/t/a, ‘cause confusion,’  ‘cause … confusion,’ ‘obscure’  and ‘confuse’)
  • عَلَيۡ — Alai — On (= Above; against; before; during; for; on; on top of; over. A/t/a, ‘to’ )
  • هِمۡ — Him — Them (= pro., pl., m., 3rd person. Those men, i.e., their friends who are God’s alleged partners, ’idolaters’)
  • دِيۡنَ — De-na — Religion (= n., Belief system. Best way to live. Divine Rules. Faith.              Lifestyle. Matters of faith. Religion. Way of life. Refers to Islamic Monotheism. The ‘right and true religion’)
  • هُمۡ — Hoom — Their (= pro., pl., m., 3rd person. Those men; they; theirs)
  • وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ  above. A/t/a, ‘but’)
  • لَوۡ — Lao — If (= In case; under the circumstances; wish; would. A/t/a, ‘Had’)
  • شَآءَ — Shaa … (ul) — He chose (= v., past., s., 3rd person. Allowed; approved; chose;  decided; decreed; designed; determined; dictated; elected; enforced; liked; permitted; planned; pleased; preferred; selected; sanctioned; willed. The meanings ‘desired, wanted or wished’ do not apply relative to the Almighty God Who has all control, power and will to implement instantly what He intends. A/t/a, ‘willed,’ ‘willed (it otherwise),’ ‘had so willed,’ ‘had enforced His will,’ ‘had (enforced) His will,’ ‘had pleased’ and ‘pleased’)
  • اللّٰهُ — Laa-ho — Allah (= The One and the Only One Almighty God)
  • مَاۤ — Maa — Would Not (= Never; no; none)
  • فَعَلُوۡا — Fa-aa-loo — Done (= v., past., m., pl., Acted; committed; dealt; did; fared; performed; reacted; returned; proceeded; treated. A/t/a,  ‘done,’ ‘had … done,’ ‘have done,’ ‘they would … have done’ and ‘the idolaters would … have done’)
  • هُ — Ho — That (= pro., s., m., 3rd person. Refers to the aforesaid killing children and thrusting religion. A/t/a, ‘this,’ ‘so’ and ‘it’)
  • فَ — Fa — Then (= Consequently; so; thereafter; therefore; then; thus; yet)
  • ذَرۡ — Zur — Leave  (= v., pres., 2nd person., abandon; avoid; discard; disown; pass; quit; reject. A/t/a, ‘leave … alone’ and ‘do thou ignore’)
  • هُمۡ — Hoom — Them (= pro., pl., m., 3rd person. Those men; they; theirs)

  • مَاۤ — Maa — All that (= What; whatever; whatsoever. A/t/a, ‘with that which,’ ‘that which’ and ‘with’)
  • يَفۡتَرُوۡنَ — Yuf-ta-roo-n — They concocting (= v., pres., pl., 3rd person. Padding up lies to appear true. This word shows people pursuing for a bad result and not for any good outcome; see details in 003:025. A/t/a, ‘they invent’ and ‘they forge.’ But the nouns as in ‘inventions,’ ‘fabrications’ and ‘devices’ are no translations of the verb that the Holy Qor-aan has used to describe wrongdoers work)
