The Holy Qor-aan                                                                                                                    006:139

 

وَقَالُوۡا هٰذِهٖۤ اَنۡعَامٌ وَّحَرۡثٌ حِجۡرٌ لَّا يَطۡعَمُهَاۤ اِلَّا مَنۡ نَّشَآءُ بِزَعۡمِهِمۡ وَاَنۡعَامٌ حُرِّمَتۡ ظُهُوۡرُهَا وَاَنۡعَامٌ لَّا يَذۡكُرُوۡنَ اسۡمَ اللّٰهِ عَلَيۡهَا افۡتِرَآءً عَلَيۡهِ ‌ؕ سَيَجۡزِيۡهِمۡ بِمَا كَانُوۡا يَفۡتَرُوۡنَ‏

 

 

Wa  qaa-loo  haa-zay-he  un-aa-moon  wa  hur-thoon  hij-roon                                            Laa  yut-aa-mo  haa  il-laa  mun  na-shaa-o                                                                                Bay  zau-may-him                                                                                                                                  Wa  un-aa-moon  hoor-ray-mut  zo-hoo-ray  haa                                                                          Wa un-aa-moon  laa yuz-ko-roo-na  us-mul  laa-hay  alai haa                                                Uf-ta-raa-un  aa-lai  hay                                                                                                                    Sa-yuj-zee  him  bay-maa kaa-noo  yuf-ta-roo-n

 

And they said, “These are the cattle and crops banned.                                              None eats it except anyone we choose                                                                                  – With just their claim —                                                                                                        And cattle whose backs are prohibited                                                                                And cattle on which they do not invoke the name of Allah,                                          As a concoction against Him.”                                                                                                Soon He will repay them for what they have been concocting.  

 

  • وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses; additionally; but; also; more over; though; when; while; yet)
  • قَالُوۡا — Qaa-loo — They said (= v., past., pl., 3rd person. Announced; called; conveyed;  elaborated; explained; informed; stated; specified; told. See Commentary ”You say’ mean …”. A/t/a, ‘they say,’ ‘they assert’  and ‘they say (according to their fancies)’ but any translation in the present tense of what the Holy Qor-aan has stated in the past tense as in this word is incorrect)
  • هٰذِهِ — Ha-zay-he — This (= This particularly pointed out; present right here; what is in front of you. A/t/a, ‘These,’ ‘These are,’ ‘Such and such’ and ‘such’)
  • اَنۡعَامٌ — Un-aa-moon — Cattle (= n., pl., Class, kind or type of … cattle such as buffalo,   camel, cow, deer, horse, mule, etc. Domesticated edible four-legged animals. Quadruped. A/t/a, ‘animals’)
  • وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ  above)
  • حَرۡثٌ — Hur-thoon — Crops (= n., Agriculturally cultivated and harvested edible plants and produce. Fruits. Vegetables. Also, cropland, fields, plantations, tillage and vineyards. A/t/a, ‘tillage’)
  • حِجۡرٌ — Hij-roon — Banned (= adj., Banned; barred; disallowed; excluded; interdicted; proscribed; outlawed; Exclusively meant for; separated. A/t/a, ‘taboo,’ ‘forbidden,’  ‘prohibited’ and ‘secure (since their use is forbidden for others)’
  • لَّا — Laa — None (= Naught; neither; never; none; nor; not at all; absolute  denial and total negation without exception. A/t/a, ‘No one is’)
  • يَطۡعَمُ — Yut-aa-mo — Eats (= v., pres., s., 3rd person. Consumes; devours; partakes. A/t/a, ‘should eat,’ ‘shall eat,’ ‘to eat’ and ‘may eat’)
  • هَا — Haa — It (= pro., s., f., 3rd person., Refers to aforesaid group. A/t/a, ‘thereof’ and ‘of them’)
  • اِلَّاۤ — Il-laa — Except (= Except; none but; nothing but; saving. A/t/a, ‘save’)
  • مَنۡ — Mun — Who (= Anyone; whoever; whom; whomever; whoso. A/t/a, ‘those whom,’ ‘those who’ and ‘whom’)
  • نَّشَآءُ — Na-shaa-o –We choose (= v., pres., s., 1st person. Allow; approve; choose; decide; decree; design; determine; dictate;  elect; enforce; like; permit; plan; please; prefer; select; sanction; will. A/t/a, ‘such as we please,’ ‘we please,’ ‘we wish,’ ‘we designate,’ ‘we will,’ ‘we permit’ and ‘we allow’)

The phrase in the next three (3) is repeated in 006:137 and 006:139

  • بِ — Bay — With (= Literally the word بِ means with. A/t/a, ‘in,’ ‘Of,’ ‘so’ and ‘according to’)
  • زَعۡمِ — Zau-may — Claim (= n., Claim; conjecture; guesswork; imagination; mind;  thought. A/t/a, ‘they say,’ ‘allege,’ ‘fancy,’ ‘assert’ and ‘their make believe’)
  • هِمۡ — Him — Their (= pro., pl., m., 3rd person. Those men; they; theirs)
  • وَ  — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ  above. A/t/a, ‘further,’ ‘And (they say)’ and ‘there are’)
  • اَنۡعَامٌ — Un-aa-moon — Cattle (= n., pl., Buffalo, cattle and quadruped. See اَنۡعَامٌ above.  A/t/a, ‘there are some cattle,’ ‘there are cattle’ and ‘there are other beasts’)
  • حُرِّمَتۡ — Hoor-ray-mut — Prohibited (= v., past., pass., f., 3rd person. Banned; barred; forbad; forbidden; made illegal and unlawful; outlawed; proscribed. A/t/a, ‘forbidden’ and ‘have been forbidden (for use),’ But the active voice as in ‘they prohibit’ is no translation of the passive voice how the Holy Qor-aan has described the sated action)
  • ظُهُوۡرُ — Zahoo-ro — Backs (= n., pl. Spines. Refers to the edible meat of the cattle. A/t/a, ‘backs,’ ‘being ridden or used as beasts of burden.’ ‘to be used for burden (or any other work),’ ‘to yoke or burden’ and ‘from riding’)
  • هَا — Haa — It (= pro., s., f., 3rd person., Refers to aforesaid group. A/t/a, ‘whose’)
  • وَ — Wa — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ  above. A/t/a, ‘there are’)

  • هَا — Haa — It (= pro., s., f., 3rd person., Refers to aforesaid cattle. A/t/a, ‘which’)
  • افۡتِرَآءً — If-tay-raa-un — As a concoction (= v., past., s., 3rd person. Fiction; fabrication; fantasy. This word shows an action pursuing for bad results and not for any good outcome; see details in 003:025. A/t/a, ‘forging a lie,’ ‘All this they fabricate as a lie,’ ‘(All that is) a lie,’ ‘thus committing a sin,’ ‘(They do all this) forging a lie … (that such practices are by His will),’ ‘all that they falsely attribute to God,’ ‘lying’ and ‘inventions’)
  • عَلَيۡ — Alai — Against (= See عَلَيۡ above. Above; against)
  • هِ — Hay — Him (= pro., s., m., 3rd person. Refers to the Almighty God)
  • سَ — Sa —  Soon (= This word turns a verb in the present tense to a verb in the future tense. Soon; closely, quickly or swiftly; without too long a wait. A/t/a, definitely; surely)
  • يَجۡزِيۡ — Yuj-zee — He will repay  = v., pres., s., 3rd person. Compensate; pay  recompence. A/t/a, ‘He will repay,’ ‘He will requit,’ ‘will He requite,’ ‘He will surely punish,’ ‘Allah will punish’ and ‘He will recompence’)
  • هِمۡ — Him — Them (=pro., pl., m., 3rd person. Those men; they; theirs)

  • يَفۡتَرُوۡنَ — Yuf-ta-roo-n — Concocting (= v., pres., pl., 3rd person. Padding up lies to look true. This word shows someone pursuing for bad results and not for any good outcome; see details in 003:025. A/t/a, ‘they forge,’ ‘they fabricate,’ ‘they … fabricate’ and ‘they invent.’ But the verb in the past tense and nouns as in ‘the lies they have forged,’ ‘their invented lies,’ ‘they have fabricated’ and ‘their inventions’ are no translations of what the Holy Qor-aan has described with a verb in the present tense)
