The Holy Qor-aan 006:156
وَهٰذَا كِتٰبٌ اَنۡزَلۡنٰهُ مُبٰرَكٌ فَاتَّبِعُوۡهُ وَاتَّقُوۡا لَعَلَّكُمۡ تُرۡحَمُوۡنَۙ
Wa haa-zaa kay-taa-boon un-zul naa ho mo-ba-ra-koon Fa ut-ta-bay-oo ho wa ut-ta-qoo la-ul-la koom toor-ha-moo-n
And this Book We have sent it down is blessed. So follow it and do your duty so that you are shown mercy.

- كِتٰبٌ — Kay-taa-boon — The Book (= n., The Divine Directive of Commands, Prohibitions and Regulations. Holy Scripture. See verse 002:003. A/t/a, ‘a (glorious) Book,’ ‘a book,’ ‘a … Book,’ ‘this Book’ and ‘Scripture’)
- اَنۡزَلۡ — Un-zaul — Entrusted (= v., past., s., 3rd person. Dispatched; gave; granted; inspired; revealed; handed; laid; landed; lowered; sent or poured down. Also, delivered; provided; released; supplied. See Note 002:005a. A/t/a, ‘revealed’ and ‘sent down’)
- نَآ — Naa — We (= pro., pl., 1st person. Our; Us)
- هُ — Ho — It (= pro., s., m., 3rd person. Refers to the aforesaid Book)
- مُبٰرَكٌ — Mo-baa-ra-koon — Blessed (= adj., Cherished; consecrated; exalted; extoled; lauded; hallowed; sacred; sanctified. A/t/a, ‘full of blessings,’ ‘it is full of knowledge’ and ‘with Our blessings’)
- فَ — Fa … (ut) — Then (= Consequently; so; thereafter; therefore; then; thus; yet)
- اتَّبِعُوۡ — Ta-bay-oo — You follow (= v, pres., s., 2nd person. Act, carry out, fill or obey given directions or instructions. Fall in rank. Fulfill by following a Commandment, Prohibition, order or mandate as laid down. Stand behind by supporting. Fall in rank. Yield to. A/t/a, ‘observe it’)
- هُ — Ho – Him (= pro., s., m., 3rd person. Refers to the aforesaid Book)
- وَ — Wa … (ut) — And (= Conj., links words, phrases or clauses. See وَ above)
- اتَّقُوۡا — Ut-ta-qoo — Do duty / Fear / Love (= v., pres., pl., 2nd person. Be clean, righteous and do duty owed to God. This word conveys many concepts as avoid angering Allah, act piously and righteously, be dutiful, God-fearing, good, noble and virtuous, clean inner self, guard against or ward off evil and others ondensed in our Commentary The Righteous. A/t/a, ‘keep your duty,’ ‘guard against sin,’ ‘be mindful of your duty to Allah,’ ‘guard against evils,’ ‘guard against evil,’ ‘fear Allah (i.e do not disobey His Orders),’‘keep from evil,’ ‘fear God’ and ‘ward off (evil)’
- لَعَلَّ — La-ul-la — So that (= Haply; hopefully; perchance; perhaps; possibly; hope and wish; maybe; wanting and wishing the result to be. A/t/a, ‘may’)
